I liked Ospreay/Takeshita more than I expected considering Ospreay's overrated. Think I'm in the minority thinking that about Bruv.

Sorry my lovely friend but I wore my white with gold English Rose KNGP1N shirt today for the #1 BRUV tonight.
Absolute banger of a PPV, faves of the night were as follows:

1 King of Bruvs vs Cinnabon Madness

2 AmDrag vs King of Bums

3 STING & Painted Young Boi vs EVPS

4 Spiraling Into Madness Cowboy vs the One True Samoan vs Breaking & Entering and threatening a small child yet somehow cheered as a baby face

    5 BCC Warriors vs FTJobbingAgain

    What a bunch of goobers.

If you listen to the whole interview it makes a lot more sense why he wouldn’t want to use it. It’s a good interview as well, I haven’t watched NXT in ages so I can’t say how well the character is getting over but good for him for wanting to “be his own man.”

It was a Violent Gentlemen shirt being sold right after Brodie passed with proceeds going to Brodie’s family. I remember trying to buy one and they were all sold out online and I went back some months later and they were no longer being sold. It would be cool if they would sell them again.

I’ve got one, I’m a huge VG fan, I wore it to the first Grand Slam and wore it to Worlds End as well.

  4. As of now it appears that the only physical version available for Fight Forever is the standard edition and in PlayStation store I only see the standard and Elite versions for the PS5 only. I have a PS4 and am hoping that the Elite Edition will be available for that platform, ideally in a physical format. I saw somewhere on Reddit that the Elite Edition would be available for PS4 digitally but no word about a physical Elite Edition for any platform. Anyone heard or read anything?

Honestly, even in the 1980s St. Marks wasn't really sketchy. Mostly head shops, vintage stores, a couple of record stores, some basement bars, and a lot of brownstones where famous people lived or used to live. Now, Alphabet City in the '80s was still rough and not someplace to be after dark.

St. Mark’s Place is where my friends and I all got our first pairs of Doc Marten’s in the early 90s before you could get them at fucking Journeys.

WhatstheStatus has always been solely about giving players stuff that’s exclusive to MyRise and MyFaction. The MyFaction stuff is found through datamining on PC I believe since a lot of it isn’t released yet (90s DX versions of Shawn and Hunter, classic Kane, etc). So it’s not a surprise that he doesn’t focus on non-WWE people.

I’ll edit this post with the creators I have saved and what they specialize in. I have one guy who had really good Stardom/NJPW creations (might be the same one who had 90s puroresu people too, can’t remember) but then I ran into the 1000 image limit and had to delete my NJPW brand on my AEW universe save.

Hook a brother up with some creators my dude! It seems like for NJPW most guys I pull up look good but the moveset is garbage.

  7. I’ve been training BJJ 3 to 5 days a week for the last 14 years, for the last 6 years I’ve been doing it at 7 AM before work, we fully recognize that we are not “normal.” And at about 142 lbs I’m one of the smallest people in my academy, I’ve spent a large portion of my grappling career being the board, not even the nail.

The first thing I tell white belts is; everything is fine, that’s what you have to keep running through your head, this is fine. If you panic or get stressed out your body tenses up, you build up lactic acid in your muscles and you gas out, then you’re really fucked. Staying calm under fire is the most important and hardest lesson to learn.

  8. Regarding Dax, the man cannot in the same podcast make jokes about putting himself over and then claim he could take Chad Gable, an Olympic level wrestler in an actual fight. I’ve got several BJJ teammates that were D1 wrestlers, any one of them would leave Dax in a pile of tears and regret.

  9. @Craig H It can be tough to decide, especially when my favorite creators are all doing the same guys. I think 3 of the guys I mentioned all did FTR, the bucks, Kenny, Adam Cole. My default is Iconic2K if several of them have the same. I did Omegaman’s Jay White and MisterFiend’s Briscoes. Who did the Eddie Kingston you’re using? I see Omegaman did Orange Cassidy & I’ll probably DL that. But I agree that no one seems to be specializing in it the way dudes are with AEW. And Status seems on a mission to do alternate versions of every WWE guy instead of non WWE guys.

For NJPW I don't really have one.

Do you just search by name and then look at downloads or upvotes or is it all about the look or moveset for you? There’s so many different versions of so many wrestlers, it’s hard to pick.

I had a great match last night with FTR (Iconic2K) vs Imperium, super fun.

I've kinda given up on 2K23. I downloaded a ton of AEW and NJPW wrestlers and setup a Universe with them all and it's just a shit show. It doesn't help that the game is pretty easy even with sliders adjusted. Although it seems like the real solution is to adjust all of the wrestler tendencies, but there's no way I'm spending hours to do that.

For so many years now MLB: The Show have allowed you to download complete rosters and in depth sliders and here we are with this where you can't do any of that. Every game should take a page from their book and just make it as simple as possible to update rosters for whatever you want. It's also annoying to know that Fight Forever is likely not going to have the ability to download CAWs.

I’ve found IconicGames2K OmegamanX44 and WhatsTheStatus for AEW CAWS but need a go to for NJPW, who’s your guy?

  12. Finally got some game time in today, gameplay reminds me a lot of the previous version is I have no gripes with that.
The only thing that I wish you could do was migrate CAWs from the previous version, I get why you can’t but it’s still frustrating. I downloaded so many dope CAWS on 22 that I’ll miss playing as until my favorite creators get updated versions up there.

The Ruthless Aggression pack is fun, the Prototype, Leviathan, early versions of Brock and Orton.

Dax said on his podcast that they could get their release from WWE as long as they signed over the rights to The Revival and Shatter Machine.  Otherwise they would have been with the company longer due to Cash having to make up for the time when he was injured.  He didn't seem too happy with doing that but they were so desperate to leave WWE that they'd do whatever as long as they were free.  As for others such as Malakai I don't know.

This is one of the many reasons why I cannot even begin to comprehend how they would consider going back there. He talks multiple times about the shit ton of money they were offered to stay and how it wasn’t worth it and how miserable they were there, it’s nonsensical to me. And before anyone brings up CODY; apples meet oranges.

I agree. I think he came off super-likable in this interview. Seems like a really kind, down-to-earth guy who is also very competitive and wants to be great at what he does.

Kenny's style isn't necessarily my favorite, but I do really enjoy him.

      Reveal hidden contents

I really liked that his take on the Punk thing was basically, "I thought we'd scuffle a bit and then make up." He mentioned coming from a team sports background, that happened a lot. I've seen that, too. Two guys fight and then have a beer. Is it healthy behavior? Maybe not. But I'd argue it's better than lawsuits and general hanging on to bad feelings for a long time.

    Spoiler

Yeah, as a guy who has trained BJJ for 14 years and had some really contentious moments on the mats, I agree. Things can get heated out there and then be sorted with a hug in the locker room. It’s a shame it went down like it did.

  15. I really enjoyed Kenny Omega on the Sessions, a lot of folks on here seem to dislike him, but I really dig him, in and out of the ring.

Started listening to this week’s FTR, man they just love feeding the clickbait and trolls, and for a guy who claims to be so happy, Dax sure as shit doesn’t stop complaining.

A guy like him, I really think would be incredibly foolish to go back to WWE. he’s not going to get to wrestle how he claims to want to wrestle, not even close.

As an aside, I’ve been a Punk fan since 2002, despite him being an asshole to me in person and to friends of mine as well, on separate occasions in the ROH days. Shit, I own every AEW shirt he’s got and an awesome print Haney did. I hope he puts his big boy panties on and comes back and finishes his AEW run in style. Maybe some NJPW shots as well before he hangs it up for good.

  16. For the most part I enjoy Dax’s podcast, however, it does seem to me that Matt tries to egg him on to get him to talk a bit of shit. Usually towards TK or the Bucks. Somebody should remind Matt if FTR goes back to the E their little podcast is over and done.
Also, why would a guy who is so passionate about tag wrestling and seemingly a huge mark for his own team, want to go where only one tag team is treated with any sort of respect?

I would not expect anyone to readily recognize the Jack Dempsey getting knocked out of the ring by THE WILD BULL OF THE PAMPAS(!) Luis Firpo painting. That would be unless they were either (1) familiar with Bert Sugar back when he was alive and some of the national boxing writers who were old enough to remember that story or (2) know that Pampero Firpo's name was inspired by Luis Firpo.

This painting was in a history book I had in  I believe elementary school, but I’ve never forgotten it and always loved it.
