Yeah - if Sammy is doing 4d chess than this is great but I fear too many wrestlers take being booed personally these days. The Tay/Sammy thing is a little convoluted. She obviously got some awful trolling and harassment when the stuff with Sammy's breakup happened. None of that is remotely defensible. But then, seemingly as a response to the "haters" they decided to go overboard with their relationship and talk about their sex life to the point that it is very cringe and off-putting.

It's going to be really delicate because you don't want to go full Edge/Lita where the female of the act is being insulted and degraded by the audience but it's also hard for them to be straight babyfaces because they're both really, really smug and into their relationship.

I'm not worried about Tay being able to transition back into being a face.  She was an incredible babyface.   I think so far she kinda comes out as a generic WWE-style diva heel, which is a trope I can't stand.

I think there's a possibility that Blackpool Combat Club is something that sounds far cooler to Americans, than it does to British people. Because, like, I've been to Blackpool. It's not really a tough person town, it's a Holiday resort. It's a party town. The main form of fighting there is of the "Two Drunk guys lurch at each other/ two drunk women pull each other's hair" type.

Regal in WCW was billed as learning in the "pits of Blackpool", so it comes from there.

Wish they used a more polished dude to debut Joe. We'll see, I guess.

Max may not be great in-ring, but he's safe, and he stays over despite losing, which is a damn valuable skill to have, especially for a heel.

perfect guy to sacrifice to Joe.

I do think Sammy/Tay are gonna turn at some point, Tay's definitely acting more heelish intentionally.

I'd have Sammy come out to help Eddie for a bit vs JAS, then turn and join with Jericho (or turn but Eddie saw it coming, then Tay low blows Eddie which Eddie didn't see coming- Eddie should never look like a total idiot)

  4. There are a lot of options for tiny sympathetic babyface better than Marko that are avaliable and on the market.

Marko also has the issues of drawing heel heat with his gimmick, which is very bad for a sympathetic jobber.

There's a lot of folks who aren't really prospects, and aren't providing a lot of value.   With AEW fulfilling their end of the contracts, what else are they supposed to do?  I'd rather see new talent on the indies get a chance to prove something.

  5. I turned it off after the Tay/Sammy garbage.  I usually don't complain about sexualization, but that was Russo-esque garbage and is wrecking Tay's character.

This might be the worst segment AEW ever had that didn't involve head trauama.

I liked a lot of the show up to that point.

I was going to ask if NEO Biishiki-gun were still in DDT/TJPW as i thought Mei had been mostly doing Chocopro.

But I just checked cagematch and they had a match yesterday apparently.

It's not like Chocopro keeps you from AEW at all...

TJPW is also part of the AEW/DDT agreement as well.

I'm a fan of Adam Cole and Adam Page.  And I liked the match.  With that said, those entrance costumes, especially Cole's, would surely rank pretty high on a list of 'most embarrassing entrances costumes' in the rich history of pro wrestling.

I'd like to have a look at that list.

Hangman's was supposedly to support queer kids, who are being attacked by a don't say gay bill in Florida.

Jade’s outfit was great but reminded me so much of WCW’s Blood Runs Cold.

With Glacier previously being “all elite” during one of the battle Royale’s, and Jim Mitchell having made a brief appearance, we only need two new guys in the Mortis and Wrath gimmicks and we are good to go!

I was watching this with a bunch of fighting game vtuber fans .  They marked out hard for Jade's outfit, and lesbian feelings intensified.  ^_^  They loved the shit out of Jade, and they love AEW in general.

  9. Will ROH keep the Sinclair TV spots?  If they do, that will help.

No more Quinn Mckay hosting  sucks though (WWE got her)

There's folks I can definitely see heading to ROH from AEW side like Lethal, and some of the women, as well as some dark regulars.  I hope they keep a lot of the ROH traditions like Pure Rules and Proving Ground.  One thing I liked about ROH is that rules seemed to matter there more, which is something I don't get in AEW.

I hear that Cody Rhodes guy is a free agent. Didn't he always wanna be a booker of a territory?

Who knows, maybe this is the plan all along, and Cody runs an invasion angle in ROH?

Pretty sure Max Caster botched his rap and totally sure Serena Deeb botched her finish. Both recovered well.

The rap was edited due to a Putin reference.  Understandable given current events.

Then call me ridiculous, because it couldn't exist.

Explain to me the economics or financial sense for New Japan here. They already have an app that makes them a profit. They keep all of that profit. New Japan World is able to be bought world wide. So they don't need a US streaming partner to split revenues with. What you said is you are hopefully New Japan scraps New Japan World entirely to latch onto whatever TK has in the works. So 100% profits in something they themselves own, or shut down their own proprietary app and "license" their footage to TK for at most 33% of the profits? Even if whatever TK creates sells 2.5 x better than New Japan World, NJPW taking a 1/3 split of profits with AEW & AAA would net them SIGNIFICANTLY less money than the current model they have.

So now just to get to their current break even point we're at a starting place of this new AEW app would need at least 300% of what New Japan's own app already sells. And that's not factoring in that they would no longer have the power or ownership of their content like they do now. They would be equal partners with two other promotions (in your scenario). What company is going to enter into a partnership like that? Unless you think TK would be willing to pay them so much money that he loses money on the venture? Just to get their rights? I think TK has proven to be a better businessman than that.

Nice idea from a fan's perspective. All the content in one nice tidy place. But never gonna happen. Look no further than current day Netflix. Streaming is splintering more and more because companies want to profit off of their content themselves.

I didn't have issues with NJPW world, though I think it was a bit too limited in devices.  The big issue with NJPW World was the lack of good searching due to language barriers.
