  1. I think going 50/50 while distributing mercy can only be seen as fair, but am I wrong?
  2. Surprised I've never seen a wrestler with some sort of pizza gimmick. People love that shit.
  3. I can't see Mox trusting or needing Danielson just because buddy Kingston is on the shelf. Don't really see him being ready for a mentor role either... I'm guessing he gives a weary thanks-but-no-thanks, which Danielson is ready for, and this leads to a beatdown by Danielson, Garcia, and even 2.0 (they don't care who thinks they're unworthy nerds, they probably get that all time). Cement Danielson's heel status by having him all huggy with Ever-Rise, it's bound to get the finger.
  4. This is the first AEW show I'm saying I can't miss. I couldn't get myself to watch 205live religiously, but Kendrick IS someone should have been a main event star 20 years ago
  5. Where does Kendrick go from here if he's not gonna sit out like Chris Hero? Obviously, he deserves to be a star in AEW but WWE done him soo wrong, can AEW build him back to where he ought to be? The obvious route would be for them to make an angle out of him proving himself: - his history with Danielson (who I guess has done nothing for him?) - going through Undisputed Era as he never had the chance to (endless potential against those pricks, no way they would cheer UE over The Brian) - hanging in there with the Jacksons (he is in a way, one of indy wrestling's original Young Bucks, after Waltman and Lynn maybe) - getting Archer'd into the mat (and having lots of that to look forward to) I could see Adam Page welcoming him as a lockerroom leader and giving him respect, maybe have Paul London return for a one-off (photo-op it like Homicide) but no-show in the following weeks when Kendrick needs him most? Ultimately, I'd have him try and fail, basically break even due to circumstances, but put him in a Casino Ladder match and shoot him to the top after that! Turn him heel and have him do the Spanky strut/dance whatever it's called; Kendrick is life~! I think Hero is the only other guy I'd push to the top like I'd like to see Kendrick at the top, but damn, Kendrick's resume is almost shite.
  6. Knowing how simply Shawn Michaels ended up with a rod in his back after hitting the edge of the casket, I personally hate all moves that land on the apron. Seeing Saito make poor Kobashi grimace in pain makes seeing all these stupid apron bumps worth it. Glad no one got hurt in all realness.
  7. Needless to say, such a man would be crucified... "something like a phenomenon, something like a phenomenon!" (LL)
  8. I really liked Shawn Michaels wrestlers-don't-know-how-to-dress-and-Christian-wrestlers-don't-GAF(!) transition period. It should have lasted longer. His t-shirts in those days were so backwoods they was retro!
  9. I like that PWG offer a select viewership in this day and age where even Matrix goes straight to TV. Adds mystique and I know some day their library will be available, but I'm not in a hurry to see what I've missed anyhow. Wrestling is now available in droves.
  10. Honestly, I feel like I've seen more robotic spotfest ladder matches than this one was. Cody constantly reminding Sammy that his face was in perfect firing range for his elbows was the highlight of the match for me. Like I said before, that elbow to head height ratio between Cody and Sammy is not something you see every day. Was there one bad forearm from Cody in that match? Each hit was direct and not your usual "hulk smash" angry flurry forearm attack
  11. The more I think about it, this is brilliant booking even if it does stem from/veer into the common sense range. It seems like God himself is saving this for a rainy day. I've never heard anyone pitch these two tangling (granted I'm not always here, or always there, tbh). If anyone mentioned it as an obvious pairing in AEW, it completely flew over my head. The prospect of their characters matching up or clashing has as much potential if not more than their in-ring may have. They could be a heel tag team, a can-they-get-along scenario, a heel on heel exhibition, an AmDrag face/Andrade heel feud, a friends-forever tag team, or what I'd love to see in the end, a violent, psychotic old man Danielson against a finally face, Humble old Andrade, provided that they live long healthy lives. That's some fight forever shit right there~
  12. Gotta admit that I don't understand MJF being ready and willing to face Punk in Chicago. Isn't that Punk's hometown? Wasn't he scared and running from Punk not that long ago? Is it just him thinking he will embarrass Punk in his hometown? Kayfabe-wise, does he have an ace up his sleeve? I do like his confidence, but I have no idea where this is going.
  13. I don't see how faking a relapse is a POS thing to do. Especially if they were gonna make him The Shaman. Drugs are huge right now and going legal in the U.S. and they were gonna make HIS ass their Holy Man? Here? Now? He just recently kicked alcohol for crying out loud. IF he faked it (and I'm on psych meds myself, so don't think I'm trying to convince anyone of anything; it's a big if), he gave them a taste of their own medicine on multiple levels. Don't call an ex-methhead your shaman unless you're gonna hook him up with some dope. Simple as that. That said, he could have just had a panic attack, he could have had a flashback. Did he get sent to mental health? Is it even the company's business what he and a doctor might discuss? Matt says he's fine. Why doubt him? Why worry? If he wanted his job, he would have went to rehab. It's not work. It's not forever. I heard he wanted to go on tour.
  14. WWE taking a turn into Disney territory is one of way of saving the E that I hadn't thought of. More steamboats, pirates, animals, and romance, please. A castle-tron? Why not? There only other choice is bringing back Virgil to script, produce, and star as active in-ring wrestling champion, general manager, and uniter of divided Raw and SmackDown brands.
  15. I been thinking Hardy faked his way out of his contract the entire time. And it feels like I'm saying the quiet part out loud, but anyways, what is Hardy's gimmick his entire career if not tranced-out post-rave bastion of phychedelica? I'm genuinely amused that they were gonna celebrate this guy known to use meth in his past by labeling him The Shaman as if shamans aren't widely known for using the strongest, uh, medicines known to man. And they're surprised he just fucked off in response? It was a truly shamanistic response, teach them corporate simpletons a lesson. It's all stupid and I still don't see what either Hardy has to offer on-screen for AEW. Granted, their ring work is probably up to snuff, but they seem like relics of wrestling nerd-dom to me. That said, bring him on. I'm always up for a surprise.
  16. I was surpised he got up from the crossroads, too, but I don't think Sammy was supposed to awesomely land on his forehead like he did and make it *that* crossroads, if that means anything. Granted, it was off the ladder, but I think it was supposed to be a wait 3 seconds or more then get up, rather than a lay down and act dead because you took the greatest Crossroads of all time spot. He definitely could have struggled to climb the ladder some, but maybe it was Sammy going in-character and saying Fuck the crossroads, that move sucks. I don't think anyone really goes into a ladder match expecting to make or see a perfectly logical encounter, to be fair.
  17. That's good, right? I mean, it's not about GCW tag titles no more...
  18. Briscoes said on facebook that AEW ain't gonna bring them in because they'll whoop FTR in 5 minutes and destroy their entire tag division right off the bat and make them look bad. Tony Khan told them to say that, right? I mean, right sir? I sure as hell hope he did anyways...
  19. Haven't seen the film, but am I correct in suspecting they're shouting out the realest if not the darkest/scariest side of the dark/scary facepaint? On this topic, I missed whatever happened with House of Black tonight (where was I?), but last week, I got the vibes that Pac was the real Lord of Darkness, having mastery over the wicked by being "incorruptible." Fuckin loved that. Haven't seen a lot of Pac but how long has he been running with superhero vibes? I know he came in as The Man that Gravity Forgot, which is relatively convoluted for pro-wrestling, but it seems like the gimmick has infinite running power if he's legit god-level demon slayer.
  20. Proud and Powerful got something deadly going on, too, although... I know not what it is. Maybe Undertaker is gonna show up, reform the Ministry and have that dream match with Stinger! Haha. Not...
