  1. All that size, all the swagger, charisma, and connections to be a top guy and he made himself as small as can be. A real life Ant-Man just depending on how and when and what you're looking at with Scott Hall. People say Big E and Seth Rollins have charisma ... man, they're just willing to act a fool, if you ask me. But yeah, I grew up watching The Bad Guy. Dude was the real x-factor all along. Anyone can be themselves, but no one in wrestling will ever be Scott Hall again. And any wrestling fan who doesn't get the depth of that statement is surely missing out. RIP, Chico...
  2. I think if Randy Orton didn't use european uppercuts, he'd be dead by now.
  3. Don't forget how he killed it in TNA as well. For a guy who has put on Jackie Gayda-level bad performances in the past, he's a hell of a victory story.
  4. Gotta say that 20 years ago, I didn't predict Scorpio Sky would be main-eventing on primetime. And last night, I didn't think he was a lock to win the title. LOVED how he stepped up though. A TKO should almost always be able to finish a match. And that breakbreaker, bro... didn't Sammy do something equally idiotic after sticking his tongue out and proclaiming to be loco in the ladder match vs Cody? Oh well, a 630 is now clearly a crazier way to go through a table. Now we know, guys! Yyeah... Thunder Rosa needs to get injected with some sort of evil dentist serum that reacts badly with her system and turns her rabid, because X-23 Thunder is the only real Thunder. She's a terrible dancer. Regal came to make us all cry last night. Ease up, Lord; we're with you! But where was Moxley when Eddie was getting brained by a demolition expert? Did their tag-team contract expire? edit - also, Darby staring down Jeffrey for making them look like morons almost covered for things. He wants the Charismatic Enigma like yesterday! Sting kinda looked at him like he remembers yesterday as well. That was cool.
  5. I'm pretty sure I fantasy booked more than one roster at a time when the WWE roster split occured. I booked multiple shows per week. It was fun. No one knew about it. Tony's rosters are way bigger than mine were so he's got a ton of shit to work with, and he's not alone. He's also an adult...
  6. I like that Sting has cooled down a lot. It seems legit. Just don't mention that Wrestlemania job that he did or you might get his bad side...
  7. Wholesome Spike's wholesome relationship with wholesome Molly never should have ended. They could have taken that to the moon.
  8. Someone mentioned CHIKARA, so I'll just tell you what I want to see: an ROH Young Lions Cup, but instead of your normal rookies in black, anyone on the ROH roster can join Side -A or Side -B, but -A dresses like lions, -B dresses like tigers. Lions and tigers fight their own kind until only one of each animal remains. Then, the top lion and the top tiger fight, and if the tiger wins, the tournament will be changed to the Young Tigers Cup next year, but the rules stay the same. There's incentive to win, and yes, pride is involved. ROH be the only place on earth you can see lions and tigers tearing it up. The only time on the wrestling calendar where things get truly wild. A reason for feasting.
  9. They kinda lost Joe to TNA and Punk to WWE before they started to suck. Red got injured really early, too. Those 3 seemed like they'd change the world at one point...Danielson not winning the big-money until several years in was kind of weird; he wasn't always there in the beginning. By the time that the Honor School graduates were coming around I really lost interest. Chris Hero as the King of Honor would have been the ROH we envisioned at first... I understand the indie-vibes, but they really had something for a while. And people seemed to still dig it when Adam Cole came around and NJ at MSG. An indie having a tv deal for this many years seems like a big success. But yeah, I don't think they ever ran SAT vs Briscoes which kinda made you wonder what didn't they understand about actual dream matches. Edit - add the loss of Paul London as a hindrance to their crucial development
  10. Strangely, I think it's about the ROH faithful, wrestlers and fans. I think there's a specific market of those who mark for a "pure" wrestling promotion, handshakes and tradition included. Same way there's a market for GCW death-related material, Bloodsport shoot-related material, etc... If there's actual WWE marks who think AEW is a glorified indy (and there are), then there are those who are just waiting to see Claudio and Johnny Gargano shake hands and wrestle for an hour on Friday at midnight. Tivo/DVR gave everything a chance to thrive. I don't think Dark/Elevation was ever gonna be a permanent youtube station. Sky's the limit with Limitless Keith Lee on board and Hook on the rise. The main complaint I hear about AEW is the way they rotate their stars with not enough guys getting to show off their stuff on Wednesdays. Stealing the NXT concept this quick after NXT made it to TV would be a great move I think. Edit - personally, I don't care about the library. I've never had the time or money to be that heavily invested in wrestling, but this has me excited.
  11. Actually, they're kinda Briscoes, heart and soul. But Delirious, mind. Their potential is big. CYN-level big. Or bigger.
  12. Actually, right now he's probably trying not to buy Lucha Underground. 'Cause he already found it on tape.
  13. I wish he had thrown in a Ric Flair Wooh! just to hammer the point in. Tony Khan as a reincarnated Ric Flair who owns wrestling and is (finally) allowed to break kayfabe makes sense to me.
  14. I've got to admit, the ROH news has got me pretty cheery. But, Tony having to tell AEW fans to quiet down about Shane almost made me lose faith in humanity ... I'm assuming the Florida crowd were pulling his leg a little? I haven't done a rewind to hear what they were saying, but hell ... there's zero need for Shane-O-Mac in AEdub.
  15. On the ever regal Lord Tony Khan... - How about he sign Tony Regal to buy ROH and Make Wrestling Honorable Again? The contract says Tony...but not Tony Khan! - How about he sign Samoa Joe to win the first ever ROH Dark Championship (it's edgy, it's fight-clubish) only to forfeit the title due to injuries? - how about he figure he can afford Claudio Castagnoli at least as part-time bully of the ROH? - how about he has a big announcement next week ... a huge announcement: ROH has signed INDIE-GOD Biff Busick. The head of mother earth explodes. - how about he sign Timothy Thatcher as Head of Security (the unsung most important character in all of wrestling) to keep non-handshaking fiends like Danielson out of ROH? - how about he has a baby and signs it to ROH ... its name is Austin Creed. Austin "Consequences" Creed. - how about he sign Chris Hero to do play-by-play, but only CM Punk or Eddie Kingston ever show to do color... I'm really only having so much fun with this because I only realized how cool this could be since Tony Khan thought it was worth bragging about. Showing your gazillionaire face on TV to brag about indie-wrestling means a whole lot to me as a wrestling fan. I feel so sorry now for the anti-AEW pro-WWE trolls on instagram now. Next thing you know he signs Phil Schneider to write AEW: The Book. Move teh thread~ And let's STILL keep Johnny Gargano out. Ha. Kiddin'...
  16. I'm sure Delirious's mind, body, and soul are somewhere in the fine print... I was glad to see Danielson getting his win back from Daniels, but then I remembered that match from AmDrag's first ROH title run. Possibly Daniels at his peak as a singles wrestler? Not tonight though, although that first close up of his eye was the coolest I've ever seen him look (...even with those pants on). Makes Malakai Black go uhh...
  17. It's sad when you have to palm-strike a guy in the eye just to remind him when to lose his footing...
  18. Aww, seeing HBK and WCW in the same sentence got me thinking how cool it would have been if HBK jumped ship and they're just like, "welcome to WCW, where the big boys play~" and they proceed to stuff him in a dumpster, ram it multiple times with a hummer, and when it comes to whodunnit, everyone goes silent and we never find out who was responsible, they just catch him returning in a limo and DO IT AGAIN like fuckin Steely Dan or something. I'm sure everyone already thought of that though...
  19. Or Vince vs Austin Theory. Kid could use "the rub"...
  20. Has anyone ever lost the fans in a more depressing way? I mean, it's like he humped Katie Fick and she gave him a hickey from Hell and we all saw it.
  21. Habanero was ahead of its time, who knew? Who slipped in 'overdose' though? They should be ashamed of themselves.
  22. I hope you're not just saying this. I haven't seen Osprey in a year or more, but he always had a way of convincing me he's a dangerous S.O.B. For his level of high-flyer, I'm surprised his matches always deliver more than his music videos or IG clip-packages.
  23. We might still have Chris Kanyon and Sean O'Haire and Brian Adams and Mike Awesome, and we would all be stronger, braver, and better men. But, we might not have DDPY as we do today. Actually, Bob Holly and Billy Gunn would have likely been traded to WCW and that part of the past would still be mind-numbingly not worth the remembering. I remember Vince originally wanting the second brand to be a place for guys like Billy Gunn and Test to get over in ways they couldn't on the main show. Kinda creepy actually.
  24. I'm thinking Eddie Kingston is drawing on old personal feelings SINCE he got signed. Who he was is integral to him being able to keep it real and still be that Eddie Kingston, and I'm guessing he looked back and said, Man, I thought that jealousy and those insecurities would never go away. Now, he's got a real-life lense to look forward to keeping it real AND getting paid. Never change, Eddie. Heroes get remembered, but legends never die. Follow your heart, King, and you'll never go wrong.
