  1. As a Brit, 6-8 episodes being a series is about the norm for UK shows; I can imagine a similar arc appealing to some. It seems to have worked well in this case.
  2. He had 3 matches with Benoit on PPV. But he wasn't the champion for two of those matches, and lost? MVP had a heart condition during much of his title reign.
  3. OK. I agree largely with that, though I think 2000 is a perfect storm of circumstances which would be very hard to recreate. Too Cool was pretty lucky; noone saw that coming. It's not like Head Cheese really got over, or T&A, or a bunch of other stuff. It is possible to over-romanticise a little. I think the Real Americans actually really got over a few months ago and WWE kinda threw it away, but the wider issue is that what a crowd will pop for and what will push ratings are not the same thing e.g. Zack Ryder, dancing Brodus Clay. Also, babyfaces lose cleanly constantly and people cheer for strong babyfaces - faces in 2000 did not lose clean unless they were jobbers or about to be repackaged. But I'm not surely you can go back to constant fuck finishes and 3 week title reigns. More feuds, more cheating heels and less clean jobs for babyfaces might help. A little. P.S. - generally there were 8 matches on a PPV, so there were 8 feuds at anyone time; A WWE Title feud, a IC Title feud, a Euro Title feud, a Tag Title feud, a Hardcore Title feud and maybe a Woman's Title feud. Another one might be related somehow to Vince/Shane or a No. 1 Title match. Another one might be related to a new guy debuting, or one of a million heel turns. Other than that.....? You spilt coffee on me? I'm just saying that, again, easy to make more of this everybody had feuds thing than is true or significant.
  4. They more or less have that though? When Curtis Axel, Cody Rhodes and R-Truth are your weakest guys regularly on TV, you've got a pretty good roster. The idea that the wrestlers are the problem just seems silly to me.
  5. He's no Andre, but he sells quite effectively when needed and as a kid I found him to be a scary individual. I knew he was listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the biggest man in the UK and so he was always an attraction, though I didn't like him; I was watching after the Big Daddy feud and I never saw him lose - I remember Skull Murphy did a match with him despite being a heel and I really wanted the Skull to win badly.
  6. That collar is terrible on him; you certainly don't wear skinny lapels with it.
  7. Do they really need a large roster with just one-two hour show a week not counting the one match only Xplosion? Large, no. But really, 33? It's not 33. It's more like 40. 33 does seem low if you look at the roster page. Taryn may not be signed, Kazarian has now gone and Sanada isn't signed with TNA but I still make more than 35 (counting Menagerie as 4).
  8. The lack of a separate World Heavyweight Title is potentially an issue, though I'm convinced they will split those belts again.
  9. It's ironic that his crazy ex-wife gets more opportunities to have good matches, despite just having a baby.
  10. Styles is IWGP Heavyweight Champion??!!?? I mean congrats dude, and hell he did go out of TNA looking like several million bucks - but wow.
  11. His fine medical skills meant he could teach Sid to kick out of the legdrop at Wrestlemania. He also lead Bertha Faye to the Women's Title. Underrated guy.
  12. But the show did 1.0 before those guys arrived right, or at least Hogan and RVD?
  13. The "30 day rule" is just a made-up provision that WWE can ignore whenever they feel like it. If the only major show Bryan is going to miss is Payback, I don't see why he can't just hold on to it. Besides, 6-8 weeks out in the human world equals 3-4 in the wrestling world, for better or worse. It's a made up provision but one you would expect HHH to hold Bryan to storyline wise.
  14. I think this is the exact opposite of the truth. Jericho does seem to be one of those "respect the business" guys, and he would like to help guys get good in the ring. He also recognizes that he is an established guy and wins and losses do not matter. He even took fans to task for the wins and losses thing by pointing out all of the wins he had last year after fans were complaining "that he came back and jobbed every week." I missed this. He has stated that he was not in love with the Fandango spot at WM, but did his best with what he was given. I think Jericho deliberately plays the role of the guy that likes to helps the younguns, but his losses did matter and I doubt we'll see him rush back to have a similar midcard run again.
  15. Silence! Sandow was great at first, but somebody decided he had to be more 'aggressive' or something.
  16. Kharma didn't bomb, she just got pregnant. She was over. Sin Cara also shifted a lot of merch and was quite over. It's just that the guy was injury prone and a pain in the ass. Heel Adam Rose might be okay, but Tyler Breeze already pulls off that shit about five times better.
  17. Garett Bischoff will be cheap I imagine and is kept around as a solid to his father. Daniels & Kazarian are expected to continue to tag together on the indies and I imagine they can main-event or semi-main a lot of places that way, and probably go to ROH too. Hernandez was one of those guys who you really wanted to be better than he was. As is, great booking could have found something to do with him but...well, y'know. It's weird to see Sabin out so soon after they put the World Title on him, but the heel turn kinda made him a comedy act which I'm not sure was a smart move even though he was quite funny in that role.
  18. Irony is, Russell Brand has become more like Bray Wyatt, only less fun.
  19. It was apparently on the WWE App so I would have to assume that it is..... ah never mind. Too bad she quit. I'll miss her. She was getting quite good. I thought she was with Barrett?
  20. I think in the previous times of two MITBs he's win the World Heavyweight one, but I'm not sure he'll win this one and it might be too much, too soon anyway.
