  1. Vic Faulkner and Bert Royal, who teamed as "The Royals." Real brothers, I think. Yes, big tag team in the 60s and 70s. Most of what you can see online comes from the 1980s but there's some 70s stuff out there. Check them out against Roy & Tony St. Clair - real good stuff.
  2. Yeah, the 2nd version with Disqo and Juvi were originally part of New Blood. They weren't heels for very long though.
  3. He attacked Hogan during a SNME battle royal, then during Superstars, turned on the Bushwackers in a six man against Quake and the Nasties. Next week, he was Typhoon and tagging with Quake. Tugboat went after Hogan in the 91 Rumble too. Hogan-Typhoon had one singles match on a Coliseum tape where Hogan squashed him in about five minutes. It looked like they were building towards some kind of Disasters vs Andre/Jake match, but they decided Andre couldn't go and obv Jake went in a different direction. Worth pointing out that Nasties didn't turn until much later; the whole idea of them somehow protecting them was never followed through as Quake/Typhoon could have interfered in the title defence against LOD because it was No DQ, but didn't.
  4. He's already won more matches than Bam Neely ever won. That isn't strictly true even in terms of TV, but Bam held the tag-belts in OVW when it was the primary developmental.
  5. That was great, but I can't help feeling they blew their wad by just throwing them all out there like that - they could have found a way for her to do that on TV for weeks/months.
  6. Paul Heyman must have a fair chunk I'm sure he's wary of setting a precedent, but that Paul Heyman fellow has a bit of money as far as I can see.
  7. Given a certain post in the Board News folder this morning and this being the Photo thread, I would suggest yes to the second bit.
  8. Not necessarily. There's the aforementioned Bray Wyatt. WWE has no problems putting guys with less-than-bodybuilder physiques, provided they believe they're worth it. I mean this guy held the tag titles a few times. He was never anything for more than a week at a time. Cade & Murdoch could have been really great, but they were never allowed to build any real momentum. I think he even beat Flair in a singles match and they teased an IC Title push, but it was nixed quickly. Point being, Murdoch was/is a really talented guy but his look clearly stopped him getting any kind of sustained push. Bull has Bam Neely written all over him. Hunico is in an odd position - he's still much better as Cheat2Win2, but of course the merch money you get with the Sin Cara gimmick is cash on the table. I still think he'll go back to the Eddie gimmick in time though, one way or another.
  9. Rey Mysterio doesn't see anything wrong with Rollin's finisher. See also people deciding it's a good idea to try and clothesline John Cena after he shoulder blocks them twice, and then also deciding to get up after the 5 Knuckle Shuffle. That said - it's one thing for heels to do dumb things, but faces doing dumb things is dumb.
  10. That was quite the polite putting over of A.J. Styles right there. Indeed. HHH has possibly given the green light to 'staying classy' regarding the TNA/Indy guys. Next they mention Christopher Daniels as being one of Los Conquistadors in 2000.
  11. He wasn't in the Kartel per se, but they did tag together in the KOT.
  12. The funny thing is that it was loaded more for them to use a weapon to fight off the fans, esp in Mid-South. A number of times recently, he has told stories about people getting knocked silly from racket shots, thanks to the horseshoe inside it. I always thought a good FO gimmick would be a cricket bat, wielded by an English/Aussie manager. FWIW, released NXT developmental Danny Burch (aka Martin Stone) used to use a cricket bat back in the UK. You can see him use it on (Rockstar) Spud at 1:20
  13. A strong man is going to be able to lay in quite a shot with a tennis racket, especially if they've practised. And, kayfabe wise, Cornette was also practised in wielding a racket - because he was a country club boy. And although a chained fist isn't going to be quite as lethal as a sledgehammer, you'd be able to do someone a lot of wrong with a few shots mos def. It's not like Jim Cornette thinks everything should be 'shoot-style' - it's about not exposing the business any more than you have to to get over. Now, there's always a potential line of argument which says that Jim Cornette's antics might well be considered as business-exposing by the people who came before him - at which point he can point to his success as a manager in terms of money drawn etc etc, without anyone have to kill eachother very much. I thought of the SMW Gangstas 'Affirmative Action' 2 count victories, Russo would surely be proud of that. Cornette's hands aren't as clean as he'd like to pretend, but you'd have to be pretty obtuse, or have not watched a Russo Nitro, to argue that they were guilty of the same shit day in and day out.
  14. I'm being a bit high-brow here, but 'lateral thinker' Edward de Bono suggested in 2000 that nutritional deficiency due to the low levels of zinc in unleavened bread could well be a cause of the conflict - his suggestion was sending over Marmite (yeast extract spread). I can't think of a good line for this, but I'm sure you can help me:
  15. The LMS match between Sheamus and ADR was competent as you would expect, but the only good reason to have a match like that on Main Event is that you avoid JBL talking about bringing out the toys. Highlight Reel was pretty silly, though Sandow's getup was fun and Bret pasting him for talking about WCW was a fun touch. Probably the most interesting thing about the show was them plugging the Wrestlemania Rewind: CM Punk + MITB, showing on the network afterwards.
  16. Yeah it was fun, but I think he really needs to ditch 'I Came To Play' and maybe even the 'Awesome' catchphrase. I like his new schtick; also agree with those who think he should have Maryse around - not necessarily full-time, but here and there to remind people.
  17. Yeah it's lame, but let's not forget he actually has a wearable t-shirt too:
  18. Titus carries the JTTS thing very well - he kinda deserves better, yet he's pretty much perfect for the spot he's in.
  19. There's talk of Cena having to miss some time to film 'The Nest' - if so, we could see a cash-in at SummerSlam or even before. Seth Rollins cashing in after Cena squeezing past Lesnar would make sense, particularly if Lesnar throws in a post-match beatdown. I'd personally do the cash-in before that on RAW so Cena-Lesnar match goes without the title, so Lesnar can over as he should - but I'd be pretty dumb to expect that at this point. The idea of a cash-in on a beat-up Lesnar is amusing. Point is, I don't expect a delayed cash-in because he's the only hot full-time heel they have (I acknowledge Bray is still pretty over, but I'm not even sure he's a heel really).
  20. What's the context? Throwing Velvet Sky out for interfering in a match. Also that the BPs have previously taken advantage of a weaker ref that they'd lead astray. MVP didn't care about the Knockouts Division whereas Kurt Angle does and so changed the referee for the match. So there was a decent context, even if it's more than a little goofy.
  21. Well she even bangs Rusev. But in all seriousness, a lot of actors stay in character between takes so it's not a massive leap from all that really. She's a dancer turned actor who hasn't quite made it and will turn 30 next year - if Russia stays nasty, she can parlay this gig into some *proper* acting. I don't see her as a lifer.
  22. Who's that? You're not supposed to ask Kayfabe, brother!
