  1. Reigns is featured last on the Smackdown intro sequence - that's a pretty big clue that he is the guy they're pushing.
  2. Man, I swear one day we're actually going to see Grado in a NXT shirt shaking hands with HHH.
  3. Staying in Denmark, I have just joined the Network. I like to put a smile on HHH's face. Clash of the Champions I for starters.
  4. I don't doubt he's let go of the diet a bit, but most of us aren't going to look very good from that angle.
  5. I really liked Oskar Blues G'Knight Imperial Red - but I'm wary of drinking American beers with the distance they have to travel. Victory Hop Devil wasn't quite what it claimed to be on this side of the Atlantic, though was still tasty. The Two Roads Road 2 Ruin DIPA was better. I can certainly review Mikkellers if there's interest.
  6. Last one a bit blurry, but you get the point - Copenhagen is awesome!
  7. I am now residing in Copenhagen. I'm working quite a nice contract which means I'll be staying in a hotel and drinking some of the best beer the world has to offer (principally Mikkeller, but I had some Polish craft beer yesterday) for 6-9 months, with paid for trips back to London every month. If I'm lucky, I may also get to go to Budapest afterwards.
  8. Booker T suggests not much because Hogan thought it was funny - it clearly wasn't racist anyway, if anything it put over Hogan.
  9. Or, y'know it's two happily married people having fun with their acting job. That's why Reed wrote 'in the storyline'. Christ.
  10. Strictly speaking, I think Devitt is wearing a slim rather than a skinny tie. With the new dress code enforcements, KENTA is actually pointing the way with his unstructured patch-pocketed jacket and buttondown collar
  11. So are The Mechanics a parody of the mid 90s 'occupation gimmicks', a rib on Steve Austin, or both?
  12. The Swagger push is just a holding pattern for Rusev. I believe, in actuality, Outsiders did one clean job where the decision wasn't reversed the next night - against the Steiners 2/22/98 in El Paso, Texas. Scott turned on Rick two weeks later and Outsiders got the titles back.
  13. Dissastified with the current product. Upset certian things aren't up yet, Nostaliga trip over, realization that the Attitude Era was actually really embarassing, didn't realize that you need a decent connection at worst to get it, upset that its not all in glorious 1080p 60fps HD, bored with it, realized that they no longer used it after that initial Mania push, canceled because they're joining Cibernetico's Class Action Lawsuit because a couple "fucks" got bleeped out of old ECW PPV's, thus its not uncensored like they promised... I actually think they undercharged for it. They should have charged 10$ just for the new PPVS and another 10$ on top for the archive (but only if you get the PPVs, otherwise 15$). I think they showed a real lack of confidence in the value of their product.
  14. I won't buy it quite as hard. When someone gets natural momentum and you throw it away, there's no guarantee it's coming back. You could still push Ryback, but would it be exciting? No. The people who won't buy it are the people who *don't* buy it, who don't watch etc. This idea that there's a block of wrestling fans who will watch no matter what is very silly. People who say it's fine to do lots of jobs because they can be rebuilt etc need to point at someone that's worked for. And don't even think about saying Daniel Bryan, because he really didn't ever do that many jobs. CM Punk? Yeah kinda, but only because he had a moment where he got to shoot on everybody (indeed Daniel Bryan got really over by beating the shit out of the Shield, upping his wrestling style from 100 -> 200mph and then beating John Cena at Summerslam). When (and if) Cesaro gets to beat John Cena clean in the middle, we'll see. Cesaro really isn't fine, he's got a lot of problems. Like most of the jobbed out roster. If jobs don't matter, why did wrestling promoters go to such efforts to protect their main-eventers? Or even their midcarders. Jobbers do jobs, and heels - for money.
  15. The common man thing is a complete false flag. The common man doesn't have any money - Walmart and the merging Dollar chains are struggling because their customer base's paychecks have shrunk or disappeared. Same reason many working-class bars have closed and TV advertising just isn't interested in that demographic. Additionally, appealing to the common man can often mean alienating other demographics when you have Austin giving Stunners to Stacy Keibler. Beyond the above, I think the issues are systemic. WWE without competition was always going to be problematic and they've slowly ran themselves into the dirt. Vince should have really given Shane WCW to run as a vaguely separate entity. But he wanted to WIN and be the only game in town. He's now the last buggy whip manufacturer. Throw in the death of PPV, the rise of YouTube and Video-on-Demand and it's looking tough out there. Completely overexposing the product and the roster with 7-8 hours of TV per week (including a 3 hour RAW) doesn't help any - even Lesnar/Cena is a retread at this point.
  16. Well, in the UK WWE continues to be shown primarily on a sports channel. I'm not sure pro wrestling has been insular particularly, sure there is a certain outsider mentality - but actors aren't really that much different in that respect. The problem has been a lack of understanding that, to advertisers, it is as much about the type of people who watch as how many. Despite changes over the last few years, WWE is still micromanaged by a 68 year old man with a....let's just say an individual sense of humour. It is only just over two years ago since Vince did the Bells Palsy Jim Ross impersonation. The Attitude Era really hurt them in the long run. Vince Russo may have actually killed the entire USA wrestling business. Wrestling is more accepted by the mainstream media than ever though. I was shocked to find that the UK 'quality newspaper' the Independent features a wrestling section on its website.
  17. Rumors going around they are making big cuts (corporare and talent) again. Tyson Kidd and Titus should avoid calls for the next week or so. We'll see, they don't have a huge roster to begin with and I'm not even sure Tyson's on that much money - he's essentially a Total Diva anyway. Spike is talking to people about making a wrestling TV show, I don't see Vince just giving away Titus - who is a slightly limited worker but more than good enough to hold down a spot on another show.
  18. He has a 'big' show in Scotland the Friday before and then the Saturday after. With ICW getting attention plus Grado and the returning Drew Galloway, Scottish Indy wrestling is on the up. That said, if you can pick up some of the right TNA footage on sale and offer to resell it to Vince - then you can probably have Grado go over Cesaro on Main Event next week.
  19. Spike might just be thinking that they can pay some production company to put a show together. That is essentially what Wrestling Society X was after all, and there's enough decent free agents without even necessarily having to pick the bones of TNA. That said, you know Eric Bischoff is putting something together.
