  1. It's 1/4 best price with the bookies for a No vote. I don't think it's happening this time around, but I don't think you can put the genie back in the bottle either. Broadly I think secession would be a pity, mostly for England. But I can understand it - Scotland never would have ended up with Thatcher, Major, Blair or Cameron and having spent some time in Denmark (similar population, less natural resources), it might well be that Scotland can strike out on their own and make something happen. It would be a lot of work though, getting all those Government departments and whatnot set-up - the IT contracts will be eye-watering, As an IT contractor, I am really hoping for a 'Yes' vote for no other reason that I reckon I could get work up in Scotland for a while as a result.
  2. Liverpool have conceded some bad goals this season, but all of Liverpool's opponents so far are currently in the Top 6 - and Liverpool beat two of them. Yesterday was a disappointment, and I question the decision to rest Stirling, but losing Sturridge to injury at this point in the season is a body blow. I can't say I'm jumping for joy about what's happening, but I feel like we're riding out a bad period quite well. Away at West Ham after playing Champions League will be an important test.
  3. Great things happen when you join the Illuminati do DDP Yoga.
  4. Scott Keith also wrote this about The Ascension Slater & Gator have more chance of beating The Usos; dude knows fuck all about anything except how to have a bad haircut.
  5. TMZ are saying it, even if they aren't reporting it. Either way, feel sorry for his father who found him.
  6. I felt Konnor's face after the match told the story; he knew they hadn't done well enough. I agree that Viktor is the problem, but basically trying to get over as an asskicking tag-team when you have Harper & Rowan doing the rounds is always going to be an uphill struggle....and it's not like The Shield split up a long time ago. This is Dancin' Homer to the power of Wonderbat. I though Adrian Neville should have been put in the Ascension - I think he and Konnor might work. Ultimately Neville will work a lot of tags anyway.
  7. If I was to meet Vince or Trips, this is the one thing I'd point out. Nothing personal to any of them, but something has got to give.
  8. I didn't realise Hunico was mid-30s. He has a really good power game, so doesn't have to wrestle lucha-style at all if he can lose the mask.
  9. Well, HHH did come back the next night from being dropped by a forklift while trapped in car without a scratch. If he can come back from that, these guys are just being pussies and milking it. That was undersold, but I recall Steph moaning about HHH being put in a HITC the next PPV by Mick Foley (the multiman where Rikishi takes a huge bump, Rock oversells the Stunner and Angle retains) when he wasn't medically cleared. But that was not good either.
  10. I'm a bit disappointed that Rollins and Kane basically murdered a dude and it's just being treated as just another beatdown. That combined with Cena coming back to face Brock again at Night of Champions, and there's whole lot of underselling going on.
  11. The finish was definitely......interesting. They pushed an envelope there, though I think they went out of their way to make it look slightly contrived because it was OTT, but it was still pretty messed up. I think Seth Rollins is a very bad man. Ambrose is going to have to hurt this dude. And Kane may be a looking at a formal disciplinary meeting with HR. What's challenging in a different way is the finish where someone enters to their music during the match and distracts a wrestler and causes them to lose - it really needs to just stop. I mean, who enjoys watching that exactly? How is that not guaranteed to be anything other than groan worthy and make people look bad?
  12. I remember from my childhood that a WWE magazine had a picture of Greg Valentine in Hawaii having leis put on him by a lady. It explained that when in Hawaii, Greg always 'got plenty of leis'. It took me many years to get that joke.
  13. Cena is still the underdog with the bookies, but his odds are going in - the punters know that 5/2 is good odds for Cena against Jesus, Doomsday and Bruce Lee in a handicap tag.
  14. The 'Ryback eats 20 meals a day' gimmick actually makes more sense if there was actually two of them running a 'Prestige' gimmick.
  15. The funny thing is that Irwin R Schyster is not supposed to be the same person as Mike Rotunda, but I'm not 100% on whether either of them were named as the father of Husky Harris.
  16. The fact that Cena didn't make a snarky reference to Skip Sheffield during the Ryback feud makes me think they are supposed to be different people.
  17. Assuming Ryback isn't supposed to be a different person than Skip Sheffield, then you have him too.
  18. According to WWE canon, Husky Harris and Bray Wyatt are separate people so that wouldn't be an issue. I'm just not sure that Barrett's character would settle for being #2 to Bryan after leading the initial incarnation. Sure, but most adult WWE fans kinda remember it's the same guy and anything that reminds them is bad. So it is an issue. You can't ban the Nexus from ever being mentioned again because one of its participants was repackaged. That's just silly. There's a difference between never mentioning something and doing a redux, and it's just silly to pretend there isn't. They certainly don't talk about Nexus much, and rightly so imo. Nexus more or less got retconned out of existence after CM Punk won the WWE Title from John Cena anyway.

  20. According to Jericho, Cena realised that he should have put Barrett over at Summerslam pretty much as soon as the match was over. The problem with a Nexus reunion is that you have a guy like Bray Wyatt who was in Nexus as Husky Harris. Now if TNA goes under, then I'd maybe look to rush Bobby Roode through developmental and have him lead a similar style group of guys who are 'above this NXT shit' - Roode, Storm, Devitt, KENTA, maybe Joe and some others. I'm sure they'd fuck it up, like all invasion storylines - but it could be fun.
  21. The moment Brock signs a full-time deal than I'm in. Until that time, that can't be his role. Besides, Punk already went toe-to-toe with him - the Taker win has built his mystique back up again, but his role is ultimately to put people over.
  22. Confirmation that square-end knit ties are now officially BOSS. P.S. And we'll have Nathaniel Clyne as well please, Ronald!
  23. Ultimately Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton cashed-in on knocked-out guys, so anything is possible. The issue is how to do a cash-in without putting sympathy heat on Lesnar; if Lesnar wins clean tonight that makes it harder. With Cena being off house shows (at least) whilst he films 2 movies, and Lesnar not doing house shows, and Daniel Bryan out indefinitely, I don't see them holding out on a Rollins cash-in until next year. Rollins cashing in on Brock will be something else, but Miz cashed-in on Orton so I think it's on. Edging into fantasy booking but I could see Orton punting Lesnar over who the real 'Legend Killer' is or something, given that Orton/Lesnar is a fresh match and one that I think could work well. Orton's heel run is dead anyway, and they could do with a fallback babyface at this point.
  24. For the record, the UK bookmakers predict: Lesnar over Cena Reigns over Orton Stephanie over Brie Rollins over Ambrose Wyatt over Jericho Miz over Ziggler Swagger over Rusev AJ over Paige That seems like too many heels going over in major matches, yet I think Paige has to go over if her feud is to continue with AJ and I don't see them running with anything else. I'll believe Cena's jobbing when I see it and not before. I'm not convinced they're going to put the belt on a part-timer, and I'm not sure you can have Rollins cash-in on Lesnar without one of them turning babyface - too soon for the former, not a good use of the latter (Heyman and Lesnar are awesome heel promos).
