  1. Because one is the one from 27 - I'm thinking the No. 1 though I am not completely sure. Edge and Punk are both prick counter-masters in their matches - Edge gets a better nearfall and a better ending, plus Taker does more. I still think I prefer the Punk match though, Edge isn't really enough of a prick in the match.
  2. If your expectation is for Punk to somehow get people to buy him going over Taker, then he failed in that regard. Personally I think that's probably a little unrealistic, and it's a really fun match for what it is. It wasn't even the semi-main, and as such it's hard to really compare it to the Michaels or HHH Undertaker matches. There's enough to suggest Punk could have delivered better matches with Taker than them if given the genuine opportunity to do so
  3. Despite Austin stating that he regrets walking out on the company in 2002, he effectively never worked a proper match again (Two matches against Bischoff, and The Wrestlemania XIX match where The Rock carried him through). it is quite possibly the reason he isn't in a wheelchair. Punk's smart enough to have worked this out. Rumblings were that it was easier to name bodyparts that didn't have problems - most likely at least one doctor will have said that he should quit. My inkling is that he has moved on mentally and he'd rather get his arm broken by Ronda Rousey than wrestle in WWE again.
  4. There's no doubt that Liverpool are not playing very well. But the fixture schedule has been unkind; now was not the time to go to St. James' Park. It's definitely exacerbated things.
  5. It pretty much hasn't changed on RAW for several years, unless it's been a MITB cash-in or a injury-related vacation or similar: WWE Title Changes on RAW: Vacated on RAW in June 2014 & September 2013: (Injury & Dusty Finish respectively) Raw July 2011 - That Mysterio/Cena bullshit when CM Punk had walked off with the title Raw November 2010 - Miz cashes in MITB Raw June 2009 - Orton wins title after Batista has to vacate title due to injury Raw July 2006 - Edge wins title after RVD busted for pot In addition, Jericho won the WHT on RAW in November 2008 - Vince wanted to experiment with a title change on PPV to boost next right RAW ratings or something, and then have Jericho win the title belt. CM Punk did a successful WHT cash-in in June 2008. Before that, you're going back to HHH being awarded the belt by Bischoff. --------------- The 'Smackdown Title' frequently changed hands on free TV, but this has really not been the case for the RAW belt. I'm just saying - let's not burn strawmen here.
  6. I'm pretty sure Ryback had his singlet corrected via a remedial spray job. I'm slightly disappointed to be honest.
  7. Hate's a strong word, but I find it hard to imagine the JBL Greatest Matches DVD set doing serious business. I think he gets a lot of love for using a lariat, working out how to pace main-events and not being a cool heel - that may well be true but I wouldn't really know as I didn't watch much of it at all - because, y'know, JBL sucks.
  8. Apropos of nothing, I give you I am asssuming this was a rib on souther wrasslin' of some kind, though I know Vince has a thing for cowboys.
  9. They seemed to a weird audio overdub where they overlaid Roode's heel entrance theme over the audio having played the intro of the babyface version. It was very low rent, though I prefer the heel theme by a long way.
  10. I though that too, but, as I pointed out, commitment is a two way street and ties their hands in certain respects. They can potentially decide to up the cost on Wrestlemania month and things like that. They're keeping options open.
  11. I thought the finish of Natalya surviving the Paige Turner, but basically being killed by it so much that she was easy meat for Paige even when Natalya avoided the PTO and went for the Sharpshooter. That was definitely more of a NXT finish than a typical WWE one and nice to see.
  12. Dropping the commitment destroys any business case for stacking Mania though. But commitment is a two-way street - this paves the way for them to fiddle with the basic product offering. Have they been adding much content recently? Offering free network for a month now is terrible though, it effectively chumps out people who are paying. Where's my free fucking month?
  13. I'd be slightly surprised if they still have established main roster guys on development deals - it's pretty disgraceful if so. I must admit when I see all these guys try-out for development deals, people who are not necessarily that into wrestling, my feeling is "why, the chances of you making good money are pretty small". Then again, I heard an interview with Nova talking about how Damien Sandow has pots of money - so it's hard to know who and what to believe at this point. I've received an email saying they're dropping the commitment aspect of the Network completely. Yeah, numbers be weak - not sure this is a good move though.
  14. "STOP MIMICKING ME!!" (at Usos) (Mizdow stops mimicking) "NOT YOU!!!" That made me laugh. The Miz is actually awesome now.
  15. The Accolade hasn't always looked great, but I've seen some pretty nasty ones too. Steiner allowed his opponents to keep their knees fully bent, I think the torque was supposed to be concentrated on the upper back and neck area but it never looked good. I actually liked Jinder Mahal's version, because before 3MB he had started to find ways to lock it on quite quickly.
  16. Why yes. Yes you are. I hope Ryback retains the humour that made him an internet favourite, but I liked the way he flipped it and went with a serious promo outlining his character history. There's money in a Ryback alarm clock.
  17. The Lesnar thing has worked quite well to be honest, I think it has really elevated Ziggler being the principal champion of RAW. Royal Rumble seems like a long time to wait though.
  18. Rumblings say it's the Tommy John surgery for Daniel Bryan, when he finally decides it's time to stop relying on herbs and incantations. So Rumble 2016 would be a guess if that goes well.
  19. Is that quite as true as that initially seems? A couple of wins yeah, but to go over that many guys? I'm going to suggest it hasn't happened that much. Yeah, and the fact that Cena has been around for centuries. Like it or not, he is Hogan in WCW at this point.
  20. It's quite funny when you have people making criticisms of the WCW product on the Monday Night Wars that can so easily be levelled at current day WWE.
  21. 1. I thought you were done talking about this? 2.. What, I think, is being said was "I only got what I wanted because of circumstances beyond WWE's control, and I don't trust them to competently book in the absence of circumstances forcing their hand". The Ziggler push has probably been driven by injuries, and the Ambrose push too.
