The issue with Lamar is that he isn’t really angling to be paid fairly. He’s angling to get $1 more dollar than DeShaun Watson got. I mean, that’s a lot of money for a guy with one playoff win. Ravens seem willing to pay Lamar a lot more per year that the $32.4 he’ll get if he signs the franchise tag tender offer. That figure is the average of the top five salaries right now. Ravens also seem willing to guarantee a large chunk of it. So it seems reasonable Lamar would be signed if he was willing to become the third or fourth highest paid qb in the league, with maybe 2/3 or so of it guaranteed. I like Lamar but he has one career playoff win. He has enough potential to deserve to be paid like one of the top guys, but win something before you start asking to be paid like THE top guy.

Didn’t read the articles, but from headlines, I gather directors and actors Majors has worked with are coming forward to paint him as a sociopath and an abuser (their words, not mine).

I didn’t say I believed the recant. I’m not a jump to conclusions sort, but I figure the odds Majors is completely innocent here are low. Take with as much salt as you need. I’ve read a decent portion of Marvel’s 2010-ish Star Wars line. Basically, I’ve read the Aaron and Gillen runs on the main book, the first Doctor Aphra series (Gillen and Spurrier runs) and Gillen’s Darth Vader book. Great fun and I highly recommend everything I just mentioned, Especially Gillen’s Darth Vader book, which I thought was outstanding, Gillen’s one of my favorite comic writers and Salvador Larroca drew virtually every page. Larroca drew much of the main book too, but he leaned more heavily into the photoshop/tracing thing and the results were mixed and divisive. Darth Vader looks beautiful though. I’m by no means a fan of the franchise, but I’m somewhat sad Marvel rebooted the line with writers and artists I don’t like nearly as well. Charles Soule and Alyssa Wong are fine, but they don’t sell me books. It probably couldn’t be helped. Marvel lost a fair number of my favorite writers and artists after Secret Wars and I don’t pay near as much attention to the line these days.

Ravens seem to be considering offering him $40 or $50 million for one year, but Jackson still wants $200 or $250 so you run the risk of having him repeating this season and essentially refusing to play if ne gets a llittle hurt, The salary cap thing makes me laugh. If someone does offer LJ, say, $250/$200 mil guaranteed, the salary counts against this year’s salary cap until Baltimore either matches the offer or declines to match it. Since most people think Baltimore would match any offer made, a team could find itself in the postion of having $50 million or so count against its cap while Baltimore puts its feet up and waits five days to match the offer, hoping to keep the other team from signing anyone while they piddle around. i don’t think Jackson gets to this spot if he has an agent, I think an agent gets him a new deal two years ago and things never get to this point, Jackson has unwittingly become great free advertising for why you need to hire an agent,

Yeah, that was my take. It sounds like dealing with him was a pain in the a** Maybe someone will take him back. The charges against him were dropped today due to a lack of evidence. some of the stories about him are quite funny. Agreed. That’s why I watch Dynamite once a month or less and pretty much forget Rampage exists. i would have been very into Dark and Elevation 10-12 years ago, but I watch less and less wrestling each year and don’t really have time or desire to keep up with more. I keep talking myself out of paying for Honor Club because even though it’s relatively cheap, there’s a very good chance entire months would go by without me watching a single show.

I’m fine with Pirino getting one last shot at “big-time” basketball because it’s interesting, but, man, I wish he was going to a state U. It bugs me when Catholic universities sell out their principles. Although, everyone has a price. My general theory of life is that most of us are a bit sleazy and the more you do the moral superiority thing, the more you have to hide. I consider myself more principled that the norm - it’s a low bar - but I’d probably stifle my moral indignation if I was in the school’s shoes. Honestly, I’d probably find this more palatable if it was a 40-year-old Pitino. I don’t really feel any seventy-year old should be running a major program and selling your soul is a young person’s game. Now I’m imagining a young Pitino in the NIL era. Dude was 40 years ahead of his time. Many of his scandals would be less scandalous now thwt it’s legal to pay players. Granted, reducing the number of Pitino scandals by half still leaves you with too many scandals, but…. I’m guessing Anderson will eventually get his money. Do Butcher and Blade ever win on Dynamite or Rampage? I dunno if I’ve ever seen them win a match. They’ve got a cool look, but come across as jtts to me. Do they win on Dark is whatever the other internet show Is called (Elevation, I think)? I’ve never watched the streaming shoes but they’re mostly used to showcase talent not doing much on tv, right?

I had no idea Sexxxy Eddy was still around. It’sprobably been 10-15 years since I heard his name. isn’t GCW a hardcore fed? Blood, barb wire, light tubes, that sort of thing? I only watched one GCW match around the time Cardona became champion, but, from what I vaguely remember, it was a bloody CZW-like affair that convinced me I didn’t really need to see more of CZW. I mean, yeah, Eddy’s gimmick is pretty crass and tasteless, so I wouldn’t mind it going away, but he’s been doing the same stuff for 20+ years and I personally would prefer a naked moonsault to a dude getting his forehead carved open with a broken light tube.

I’m really looking forward to Solo eventually getting a strong push as the new Samoan Bulldozer.

Lol, my only memory of the Bollywood Boyz in WWE is them stooging for Jinder. Specifically, all I remember of them is that they took some wicked crash-test-dummy bumps through the announcer’s table back when Jinder was feuding with Orton. I think Orton murdering the Boyz with careless-looking beck suplexes got over more than the actual feud.
