  1. According to ESPN, Anderson and Gobert started jawing about one not rebounding and the other not blocking shots and it got physical after Anderson said “Shut the f*** up, b****.”
  2. Did anyone seriously think any of the belts might change hands, it looked like a Sunday Night Heat card to me, I was fairly sure before the matches started that Billie Starla or QT Marshall we’re not picking up wins. How many belts have changed hands on Battle of the Belts? Once? Was Sammy Guervara-Cody on Battle of the Belts?
  3. Meltzer said on his show that WWE is far more popular than AEW by any measure except ratings. WWE airs on a subscription service in the UK, AEW airs on free tv (someone correct me if that’s wrong). Dave doesn’t think AEW will come close to the 80,000 WWE packed in years ago. I’m curious what Tony actually expects. I assume they did market research before deciding to run the stadium. I kind of feel like he’s finally overreaching, but I really don’t have a strong opinion on the subject. It’ll be interesting to see what sort of card he pulls together.
  4. Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster (compilation of I-VI) will be released for Switch and PS4 on April 19
  5. I haven’t been to a live show since 2010 or thereabouts, but I may go to a WWE show this year if Vince doesn’t manage to steer the product into a crater.
  6. Given how earth shattering previous announcements have been. I’m predicting that he’s going to announce that…. He has a very important announcement for next week’s Dynamite (April 12).
  7. I think maybe my favorite thing on the show was the Biggs/Jensen/James/Henry angle seemingly getting near a conclusion. I’ve never been interested in the angle but will mark out for anything that ends it. Hopefully, the virgin gets to round home, though I probably don’t to hear the announcers call that one. Truthfully, I’m not into any of the storylines right now, but I’ll keep showing up as long as they keep featuring NXT UK ex-pats. Not into Bron and Carmelo doing a double turn. I get why they are doing it and it makes sense if you’re keeping both in NXT for now but I’m not sold on either and think Bron is going to be a better babyface and Carmelo and Trick are definitely a better heel act. I’m ambivalent about keeping Bron in NXT. On the one hand, he definitely needs work. On the other hand, I’m not sure he’s going to get it wrestling a tv match or two plus a few house shows each month. He might be better served working more experienced hands on the main roster. Not sure. I am surprised he’s seemingly not debuting on Raw or Smackdown this week. Random thought: will Vince rename Carmelo when gets called up out of fear fans will confuse Carmelo and Carmella?
  8. Please stop whining. Watch something else, go outside, read a book, go to work, whatever. If you don’t enjoy the show, don’t watch it. Or do watch it and just treat it like it is: disposable entertainment meant to be watched and forgotten about after it ends. It’s not meant to be a religion. And it’s not something you should feel compelled to keep talking about even though you profess to hate it. I’m not thrilled Vince is back, but it was expected. Supposedly, the reason he wanted to broker the sale personally was to find someone who would let him run it. Meltzer even said last night that Endeavor wants Vince in charge. I’m going to stick with it for the time being, but, I don’t have a problem turning off AEW or WWE when I’m not enjoying it. If Bloodline stays as interesting as it has been the last six to 12 months, Roman can keep the belt five more years if he wants. Been a long time since anyone tried to do a run this long. Fans are conditioned to get bored after six-nine moths.
  9. Glancing over the list of new comic releases for this week and there’s a new series/mini-series that reimagines Ric Flair as… an international super spy? What da hale? I know nothing about this book and probably won’t spend money on it, but I am really intrigued. I’m assuming it’s a spoof of James Bond? I look forward to Ric claiming on a podcast that the story is 100% true and he was a spy for Uncle Sam.
  10. Yep, it’s sooo much better when you do the same gimmick.
  11. Meltzer has been saying Heyman and Triple H have a year’s worth of storylines laid out, post-WM.
  12. I didn’t see them at all in NXT UK and didn’t watch a whole lot of them prior to the USA show. I feel like they probably got pidgeon-holed as tag team experts better in the ring than on the mic before I saw them. That’s generally a death slot in the WWE. I feel like the problem now is that NXT already has several teams waiting for callups who are more obvious fits for the main roster and how many tag team are you going to call up this year?
  13. Probably, but I can understand why they haven’t. They’re good in-ring, but neither guy ever struck me as dynamic or charismatic. The Schism is ok - I thought it might have gotten them all to the main roster eventually - but I feel like Grizzled Young Veterans have disappeared into their gimmicks since getting repackaged, I had to look up their new ring names and they were renamed almost a year ago. I couldn’t tell you if commentary still uses their names much even though I watch the show. They’ve shown the personality of Undertaker’s druids since they joining Schism last summer (and gotten just as promo time). I feel like they weren’t going to come out of Schism with much momentum. I liked them as GYV but wouldn’t call them up with Creeds or Pretty Deadly.
  14. I think the odds he loses the belt to Danielson are ridiculously high. If they’re not running Danielson-Shibata and Shibata is going to take the belt home with him for a few months and relax, then, yeah, I dunno what the point is. Doesn’t it change hands at least twice most weekends? I’m just waiting for those caterpillars Tony calls eyebrows to make a break for it and wiggle away. Tony’s not on cocaine. He’s that rare unicorn who would actually be calmer if he was high. Who needs drugs when you’re that excitable naturally.
  15. I’d bet a reasonable amount of cash that if Cody had won, the talking point would be how terrible Cody is and how much the crowd hated the main. Heck, people here were fantasy booking Cody as a heel weeks ago on the theory he was going to win and the crowds would turn on him since no one likes him. Honestly, the amount of kvetching here makes me the show went over pretty with the majority of crowds and viewers.
  16. Meltzer’s recapper piles on Shane, I mean, he didn’t suddenly fall. He leapfrogged Miz and landed wrong.
  17. Honestly, I’m probably more curious to see where they go from here than I would have been had Cody won. Cody’s going to get his run eventually. He won’t be hurt in the long run. Roman talking shit to the Usos, telling them “I took care of business. Why didn’t you?” Is going to be fun.
  18. You’re not being a jerk. You blew by that before the end of the first sentence. You legitimately need help if you’re not being a troll.
  19. Lol, I feel bad for Shane, but after all the I’m-too-old-to-take-this-bump spots he’s done over the last ten years, did anyone guess he would blow out a knee doing a leapfrog. Shane’s almost my age, I’m going to show my wife the footage next time she asks why I stretch so much before and after a run.
  20. Is it still luck if you do it over and over for several decades? People seem reluctant to give Vince his due because they dislike him. He knows how to make money.
  21. Feel bad for FAU, but another great game and even better ending, I was rooting for FAU, but a small school was going to make the final either way, so it’s a win for the tourney. Rooting for Miami U now though I hate to root against a Big East team.
