Signed up for the AMC A-List gimmick. It is really fantastic. If AMC got all the quirky films and one offs I would switch to that exclusively.
Going to give Moviepass a little more time to get their shit together before I cancel. $15 a month to be able to see the indie movies/special screenings like I did with Alien a few weeks back is worth it and use the AMC card for the new releases on the IMAX screen.

Went to see Skyscraper last night and wasn’t about paying peak pricing of $3 for a movie that was 90% empty so I went Superfly and I’m glad I did. Damn good movie.

Saw Sicario 2 on Sunday. Movie lost me halfway thru but might have been because I’m old and saw a 10:30 showing.
saw Wont You Be My Neighbor today. Absolutely wonderful, tons of cool footage I had never seen before and Mr. Rogers is a national treasure. I gotta make a trip to Pittsburgh to check out the museum with all the Mr. Rogers stuff in it

I’m going Tuesday to see it. Got off work and going to drive the 40 minutes to the theatre showing it. Love Mr. Rogers, did a huge report on him in college.

So for the people who have seen Tag - @Tabe and @ivpvideos were two recent ones I know - how long did you spend staring at Jeremy Renner's CGI arms?
This was the first I heard about it so I looked it up and I can’t believe he broke both of his arms making this silly movie. I wasn’t looking for it though

Saw Tag last night on a lark and I’m glad I did. Much funnier than the reviews made me believe.

Please, nobody bring up the blender in this scenario.
...oh...god damn it.
Am I the only one that brings up a dildo blender in front of people that have no idea what the origins of it is?

I liked Oceans 8 enough but parts of it were pretty painful. They would have been caught in ten seconds flat but I guess most heist movies are like that if you stop and think about it.

Saw Hotel Artemis a few days ago. Such an odd movie. Previews makes the story seem one way and then they don’t even follow up on any of it. Batista was fantastic in it but I left dissapointed.

For the six people who were planning to see this shit and haven't already, you might want to get on that fast before it gets yanked.
I saw it on Monday. Thanks MoviePass. It was painful.

Hopefully going to see this tomorrow night if my friend I'm going with is off work. Looks good to me
Oh, and just to boast once again: the Art is showing Fulci's The Black Cat next week.
Saw this a month or so ago and it completely blew me away. Absolutely fantastic movie.

Saw Breaking In last night. Outlandish movie with some ridiculous moments but I enjoyed it for what it was.

Thanks to Moviepass and some free time I went to see Truth or Dare. Ok enough movie that was saved by the ending which is so dark and disturbing.

I might have missed the thread, but I wanted to ask how many of you are using MoviePass right now? I've been using it for a couple of months now, and I see experiences vary. I heard they changed up their one movie-per day plan for new sign-ups too. The subscription is likely about to make some other unpopular changes this year.
Absolutely loving my Moviepass. Price of less than one movie a month and I can see anything. The recent changes suck, especially with zero notice but I like it because it makes me take risks on what to watch. Something like Traffik I would have never paid for but it ended up being much better than I anticipated.
Speaking of, last night I saw a film that is very limited released currently called The Endless. Highly recommend it when it expands or when it comes out on DVD. It’s about two guys who left a cult a decade prior who go back to the cult to visit and the insanity involved.

My favorite time of year. Eyeing up Packers @ Rams or Packers @ Patriots. All depends on time of year.

Yeah losing Jordy hurts but 33 and saving ten million makes it required, especially after giving Adams that huge contract.

Saw Death Wish last night. Very dumb and everyone was laughing at parts I don't think we're supposed to be funny. I enjoyed it for the wrong reasons.
-
Dawn Annihilation last night. Still not sure what I watched but I enjoyed it. Wild movie.

Just saw The 15:17 to Paris and woof was it a dog. Having the guys play themselves was a fun idea in theory but they were pretty terrible at acting. Movie starts with a rant against ADD medication with the line "MY GOD IS BIGGER THAN YOUR STATISTICS" said in a serious manner. I used Moviepass and I still wanted my money back.

Finished mainlining Altered Carbon.
It's a Blade Runner world with GITS tech, stylings of Neuromancer, and grunge of When Gravity Fails. I mean, this is the most cyberpunk anything I've seen in a long while (even more so than the superb Bladerunner 2049).
There was a middle slump but overall a must see for fans of the genre. They went full bore into the transhumanism aspects of cyberpunk and there's some beefy stuff to chew on.
With how easy it was for them to move their ghosts from one host to another, they setup a great Doctor Who-ish regeneration cycle for future seasons. Along with the acknowledging the existence of aliens/tech and multiple colonized worlds, each season can be on a different world with whole different power structure and flavor.
Seriously, plez let there be more seasons!
Just finished it as well and really enjoyed it. Hoping for more.

I'm assuming they will trade Nick Foles to somewhere that will give him a long term contract full of riches.

Has anyone seen Hostiles starring Christian Bale and Rosamund Pike? How graphic is this film? Some of the descriptions put me off, especially after watching Bone Tomahawk, but I love the genre
Saw it yesterday. Wasn't terribly graphic besides the first ten minutes or so.

Bit of a programming note: The guy behind the BortlesFacts Twitter handle is gonna be interviewed on NFL Sunday Countdown. He's also a huge wrestling fan, but I doubt that comes up on Sunday, heh.
He is a buddy of mine. I actually went with him to the Jaguars/Packers game last year. Hardcore diehard wrestling and Jaguars fan. He went to Mania last year.
He will be going to the game as DraftKings is hosting him in their suite. Soooooo happy for the dude.

I couldn’t get a feel on Christopher Robin so I left it off of both lists. Only smart thing I did.
