Belgium/USA: Huge gulf in class (like a cat playing with a mouse), no idea how it got to extra time, Howard's saves and Belgium's inability to kill the game was getting to a comical level. Glad to see Belgium through as Belgium/Argentina should be a good open game. Belgium had 39 Shots, 17 On target and 19 Corners. England were England. Looking forward to seeing Suarez out of English football and Colombia knocking Uruguay out.

I've been saying for an age Brazil won't win the tournament. They should have lost tonight and Croatia deserved a draw. It's the worst squad they've had at a World Cup in my lifetime and they have David Luiz in the centre of defence. The pressure is huge and they just don't have enough great players to cover for the average. Neymar would have to have a Maradona 86 like World Cup for them to win. Mexico were excellent, Ochoa with the performance of the tournament, Herrera, Aguilar, Marquez, Rodríguez and Guardado all played well too. Neymar, Marcelo and Thiago SIlva (who should have been sent off) were the only players for Brazil who come out of it with any credit.

It's been a long few days of too much football (watched every match) and painkillers. Yesterday was probably the only day i didn't enjoy. I feel i've watched the same match 3 times. Teams setting up to defend deep and frustrate "You come see if you can beat us" in Iran/USA/Algeria and it nearly worked for all three. Disappointed in Belgium's lack of ideas, Ghana might be the most frustrating side of talented idiots (Boateng, The Ayews, Gyan, Muntari and Atsu) i've ever seen and Nigeria were dreadful. Really hoping for a great Brazil/Mexico game.
