  1. No late Barcelona signing, now can't sign anyone until 2016! Anderson and Cleverley are still United players Hull City went on a late spree, Abel Hernandez, Hatem Ben Arfa, Gaston Ramirez and Mohamed Diame
  2. Looks like Negredo is leaving City for Valenica. Twitter rumour of Arsenal trying to get Huntelaar. I wish Welbeck was good enough, always good to have a few locals in the side. nevermind For balance sake.......
  3. Loving the bitterness flying around Does Falcao solve all the problems? No! Does it feel AMAZING to sign 2 World Class players in the space of a couple of weeks? FUCK YEAH! After the pain of another long, dull, annoying summer waiting & hoping for things to happen the last few weeks have been a breathe of fresh air. All the "You can't sign anyone without Champions League football" shit blown away. Another centre back would have been great, i'm not a fan of Jones, Evans or Smalling and have doubts on Rojo but who should you listen to? people of the interwebs, shit journalists, awful pundits like Niall Quinn, Phil Neville etc or one of the best managers in world football? It's been a shit start to the season and i expect another few weeks (or months) of problems but if Van Gaal and his team think this is the way to go i'm right behind them. VIVA FALCAO! VIVA DI MARIA! VIVA LVG! B)
  4. That's cold team 01 de Gea 36 Vermijl 41 James 28 Anderson 06 Evans 38 Keane 37 Janko 26 Kagawa 14 Hernández 19 Welbeck 22 Powell Alot of kids but still shouldn't be getting beat by MK Dons. At least it wises a few people up that it wasn't all down to Moyes last season. Van Gaal has a squad to build not just a team.
  5. 8 games for stroking a refs hair. Simeone watching tonights game possibly in a prison Di Maria to United is now reported to be £59.7m plus addons that could total £5m. Reports in Holland say Daley Blind to United is a done deal. Giroud could be out for 3 months, time for Wenger to get the checkbook out or continue to waste Sanchez up front. Oh and Liverpool
  6. 606 and Talksport always put through the knobs, just listen to some of the emails and tweets they read out on SSN as well, moron views attract more fuss. The amount of Arsenal fans i've heard over the years say they'd never watch Arsenal again until Wenger's gone, United fans who only ring in when we lose or to take a pop at Fergie, Liverpool fans saying their winning the league because they beat Dortmund in a preseason friendly etc
  7. Plenty of United fans "do realistic" but just like other clubs the moron "twitter" element get focused on.
  8. The world where you're trying to buy one of the European champions best players and said European champions have heard you're moron of a Chief Executive say "We can spend anything" plus they've seen the crazy Adidas deal United have signed. You want top quality you're going to have to pay. plus Real want to show their fans (80% plus of who are pissed off he's leaving) that they got a great price for him. Did you watch United last season? have you seen United this season? Just like last season, lethargic and one paced in attack, nobody that's going to carry the ball and beat a man. Di Maria is needed. He'll go straight into the team.
  9. It's late (2am) so i can't be bothered looking up what date these all came out in the US so this will have to be UK Dates. Only seen 23 films that have been released. Not been a great year personally. 1. Dallas Buyers Club 2. The Lego Movie 3. August: Osage County 4. 12 Years a Slave 5. Nymphomaniac: Vol. I 6. We Are the Best! 7. Blue Ruin 8. The Past 9. Grand Central 10. American Hustle To show how much i've not loved this year so far, i've only given the top 4 four stars. Looking forward to Snowpiecer, Joe, How to Train Your Dragon 2, 22 Jump Street, Neighbours I really didn't like The Grand Budapest Hotel, Calvary, Enemy, Her or The Wolf of Wall Street. Top 10 first watches 1. Nebraska 2. Man in Love 3. Kauwboy 4. The Grapes of Wrath 5. Harry and Tonto 6. Dallas Buyers Club 7. Wish 8. The Broken Circle Breakdown 9. Forbidden Fruit 10. Uno
  10. For anyone in Britain. Just been told Sky News are actually repeatedly showing the "suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem" scene from World's Greatest Dad As classy as ever. cunts
  11. An absolute sucker punch If the suicide by hanging is true i guess i won't be watching World's Greatest Dad anytime soon. Watched SO much of his work, Good Morning Vietnam, Garp, Club Paradise, Mrs Doubtfire, The Fisher King, Birdcage etc he has been in some terrible rubbish as well but even in them there were glimpses of fun (he's the only sodding thing to watch Happy Feet for) and World's Greatest Dad might just be him at his best as an actor. Fuck off with this news
  12. I wonder how many of the people bashing the tour are bashing the quality or just Meltzer's hyperbolic nonsense? Anyway,.............. I really hate to end this on a bad note but for me it was possibly the worst show of the tour. The last show was a tired effort, this went up to exhaustion. I was starting to fear a big fuck up and we nearly got one. So many things not going right in the last 5 matches, little slip ups, moves not hitting as they should, tired sloppy strikes etc I didn't watch the Jr Tag Title match, to save a long explanation it was due to time. I'll watch it tomorrow probably. G1 CLIMAX 24 FInal Archer/Smith/Michinoku/Desperado vs. Tenzan/Kojima/TM4/Taguchi: Pretty much an iPPV level dark match Fale/Gallows/Yujiro vs. Bushi/Nagata/Nakanishi: Filler Suzuki/Iizuka/Benjamin vs. Yano/Sakuraba/YOSHI-HASHI: Filler The Maria Kanellis Arse Invitational: Liger/C'N NJ vs. Cole/Bennett if you're in love with Maria's arse you'll love this as much as the cameraman (i'm not, i prefer more meat on the bone) Would be a fine lower card match on most iPPV's but this wasn't your average iPPV. Naito vs Honma started well enough, the crowd were into it but it fell apart. VERY stiff looking brainbuster from Honma followed by Naito not getting out of the way quick enough for the diving headbutt. Didn't look good Ishii vs Anderson Zero pleasure from this. Ishii looked in serious pain throughout, Anderson broke Ishii's nose on the first maybe the second move which produced quite a bit of blood, then Ishii went for a superplex and both crashed to the mat Anderson was VERY lucky not to land on his head and to top it off with Ishii in the corner huddled over in pain they zoom in on a woman crying her eyes out. If this was a work it would be fantastic. it wasn't. Goto vs Shibata Not good, super super stiff but not good. Both tired, Shibata looked to have injured his pec maybe a rib as well during the match and if Goto's jaw is still in place i'll be surprised. As stiff a Go 2 Sleep as you've ever seen and Shibata's spinning chop has never been stiffer. Tanahashi vs Styles: Have you ever watched a match between two guys half asleep? I expected this to be an all out fast paced match that i was either going to like or moan endlessly about. Just about decent. If you've ever dreamed of seeing these two have a match SKIP THIS and wait for next time. The less said about the crap afterwards the better. Nakamura vs Okada This started like the last one, plodded along again both guys dead on their feet but the ending was kind of fitting, two guys knackered after a long tour desperate to win giving everything and the last 5 mins was a great way to end the tour. Those Rainmaker reversals JESUS! ---------------------------- I can't believe i watched every G1 match. I started out thinking of just watching the matches i wanted to watch then after that first show being so much fun it was a breeze up until day 9. the last 3 to 4 shows have been a struggle. They need to cut this down next year, they probably won't. Two Blocks of 8 is enough, this was crazy. Best Wrestler: Nakamura Best Show: Day 7 at Korakuen Surprise of the Tournament: Tenzan: not only lasting the whole tour but stepping up and having the best singles matches he's had in years. Best Match: i'm gonna need a longer think Worst Wrestler: Gallows Worst Show: The Finals Worst Match: Gallows vs Fale Worst Moment: Honma not getting the win on the final day.
  13. Well...it actually HAS happened before---in a G1, no less! NJPW, 8/5/12 (WPW/iPPV) Ha! i must have watched it as well, pretty sure i watched most if not all of G1 that year Has Meltzer mentioned they haven't had a match before recently? someone must have planted that in my head Match of the Night by a mile NJPW, 08.08.2014 (Day 11) Honma/Benjamin: Really shitty way to open a show, you could have heard a pin drop when Honma lost. The match was fine but Honma deserved a win. One of the stars of the tournament. Yano/Yujiro: i can do without ever seeing them in a ring together ever again. How many times this year? ZZzz Goto/Archer: Decent, helped get the crowd up again. Naito/Anderson: Again decent, love the finish. Nagata/Ishii Good match, left you wanting to see them when they're both 100% Shibata/Gallows Fine. Nakamura/Fale once again Nakamura gets a match out of the lump. not as good as the New Japan Cup final but good. Makabe/Styles a match that didn't suck, a match that didn't really work but was ok in the end Tanahashi/Smith Jr. Like the show as a whole decent, not too memorable. Have a feeling people who like Smith more than me will get more out of it though. Okada/Suzuki The highlight of the whole show, very easily MOTN. Crowd into it more than any other match. Surprised it only went 17minutes it felt longer, not in a bad way. We have a final then. Still think they should have held off on Nakamura/Okada, break up Chaos and have them at the dome for the title but should be a great match to finish off the G1 with. Really shitty to see Honma not even get a single win out of the whole thing, the only guy not to win at least 4 matches. bullshit. Seibu Dome show as a whole. First 3 matches are filler, never seen Adam Cole, Michael Bennett or Kyle O'Reilly and haven't seen Bobby Fish since his Noah days so not expecting anything. If they have anything left (SOMEONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD TELL ISHII TO TAKE A DAY OFF) Naito/Honma, Anderson/Ishii & Tanahashi/Styles should all be worthwhile and Shibata/Goto might steal the show.
  14. Wait, what? Silva vs. Singh was great! i guess even shit has fans. Adam Sandler still has a career etc
  15. I fucked up which day the 8th show was on and have been catching up ever since Oh Osaka how i love you. Osaka crowds are always on fire NJPW, 03.08.2014 (Day 8) Ishii/Smith Jr: Good start to the show, blended well. probably Smith's best of the tournament not sure how Ishii finished the match. Tenzan/Yano a typical Yano match with a fun finish. Nagata/Benjamin This shocked me how good it was, it's not MOTYC level just a surprise to see these guys click. Benjamin on another level from his showing last year. Kojima/Gallows Decent Goto/Naito: Poor Naito, Osaka just fucking hates him Fine but expected more. Styles/Archer: fine, didn't do alot for me. Makabe/Suzuki: Good match with some great spots, Makabe finally doesn't look in pain. Honma/Shibata Oh fuck me was this great. Crowd on FIRE. MOTN Okada/Yujiro Fine, passable for Yujiro. Tanahashi/Nakamura Good match, down from their matches earlier in the year, great last 5 minutes. It's not a shock to anyone but another very good show. ---------------------------------- NJPW, 04.08.2014 (Day 9) Honma/Smith Jr After Ishii/Smith maybe i expected too much from this. It's ok Archer/Yujiro: as much as i'm going to leave the G1 more positive towards Archer, this wasn't good. skip it. Nagata/Gallows It's ok. skippable. Makabe/Tenzan: At this point i was starting to think it's a "lets take it easy day" this confirmed it. Naito/Suzuki: Finally a good match. Shibata/Fale: this started well but BOOOOOOOO!!!! crowd summed it up perfectly Kojima/Nakamura decent, had it's moments but not as good as expected. both looking knackered. Styles/Anderson not a fan, they go for indy epic and...i bored very quickly. some will like this but it's the sort of match that leaves me cold. Tanahashi/Benjamin: Decent. again the tour looks to be catching up with them. Okada/Goto Very easily MOTN, probably wouldn't be in the top 10 for the tournament but the highlight of the show. At this point, the worst show of the tour. ---------------------------------- For long term puro fans. the way the arena is set up and how shit the crowd are i thought this was a BJW Yokohama Bunka show. For newer fans: crowd too far from the ring, small quiet crowd in a big building. To save me saying "it's a day off" and "they look tired" this is the worst show of the tour. it's not bad but it was a struggle to sit though at times. ---------------------------------- NJPW, 06.08.2014 (Day 10) Kojima/Honma short but decent Smith Jr/Fale SKIP Tenzan/Naito Decent Suzuki/Anderson Fine Makabe/Yano SKIP Styles/Yujiro: a struggle. Styles worst match of the tour. Okada/Archer MOTN at this point and it was decent at best Tanahashi/Nagata good match. MOTN. Ishii/Shibata when does wrestling go too far with being stiff? i don't know if Ishii's injury coming in put me off the ridiculous stiffness but it didn't work for me. Some will probably love it. i'll maybe rewatch it in a few days (finished watching it a hour before typing this) and see if i change my mind. just went too far personally. I loved their matches last year, LOVED them. Nakamura/Gallows: expected a crap match but passable in the end. Speaking of the Yokohama Bunka Arena, tomorrows show is there. -- I predicted on twitter a Okada vs Tanahashi final after day 9, after day 10 i'll be surprised if it's not them. Nakamura vs Okada would be a very dumb move, giving away your biggest (never happened before) match with so little build up. Are they that crazy? they did put Fale in the final of the NJ Cup this year so who knows..
  16. Day 6 After 2 days back to back it seems a dogs age since i watched this, i think it was yesterday . Makabe's still in (cheers big dave) and Tanahashi was also fine so good-good. Underwhelming day overall Doc Gallows vs. Bad Luck Fale: Worst match of the whole tournament. i live tweet as i watch (no idea why) and described it as this generations Giant Silva vs Giant Singh. It's not as bad as that but it is rubbish. Yuji Nagata vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr: ok nothing more. skippable Togi Makabe vs. Yujiro Takahashi: passable, decent at best. Makabe looked in serious pain throughout Satoshi Kojima vs. Katsuyori Shibata Good, real good towards the end both looked exhausted. Hirooki Goto vs. Karl Anderson: Fine match, great finishing sequence Minoru Suzuki vs. Lance Archer It happened, skippable Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Shelton Benjamin: decent. expected more they've clicked in the past. Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. AJ Styles: you wouldn't expect them to click but this ended up being pretty good. Tenzan's the surprise of the tournament Kazuchika Okada vs. Toru Yano: ok, not essential Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tomohiro Ishii as you'd expect the best match of Day 6, not up to last years incredible match and the ending wasn't great but still very good. ===== Day 7 Just finished watching it around half an hour ago and right now i'd say it's the best show of the tournament so far. From match 5 when the crowd go INSANE for Tenzan just a great show. Satoshi Kojima vs. Shelton Benjamin: Had it's moments decent to good Toru Yano vs. Lance Archer Fun match, i'll be honest and say listening to Liger enjoying every minute of it on commentary helped. Yujiro Takahashi vs. Karl Anderson: ok Davey Boy Smith Jr. vs. Doc Gallows Worst match of the show, not sure who grew bored quicker me or the crowd. they were getting the polite applause towards the end. Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Hirooki Goto MUST WATCH. it's a good good match but the crowd make it a must watch. Tenzan's so over it's crazy. Tomoaki Honma vs. Bad Luck Fale All about Honma, another good match. Togi Makabe vs. Tetsuya Naito this will get lost amongst better matches from the show but it's damn good. Makabe's best of the G1 so far. AJ Styles vs. Minoru Suzuki a match that should suck, a match that shouldn't work but a match where contrasting styles meet and somehow just click. Match of the night. Yuji Nagata vs. Katsuyori Shibata Really good again, just an absolute battle. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tomohiro Ishii fails to live up to the last two but another (have i said really good or great enough during the G1 yet?) good match with some great moments to end an epic show. Meltzer's going to go so over the top with this show it might just finish him off. i mean sexually and then death. Very happy to have two days of rest.
  17. Kobashi: still bumping and chopping titties
  18. Day 5 Ok this is getting repetitive BUT another good show, no bad matches. It took awhile for the crowd to heat up but Shibata/Benjamin onwards they were all over everything. Tomohiro Ishii vs. Doc Gallows Decent to fine, had its moments Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Lance Archer Decent again, nothing you have to see Satoshi Kojima vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. Good, tempted to say Smith's best of the tournament, Kojima's been consistently good throughout. They work very well together Minoru Suzuki vs. Yujiro Takahashi Hugely enjoyable if you like seeing Yujiro get slapped around. i do. Toru Yano vs. Karl Anderson very well done comedy match. Anderson's pisstaking of Yano is priceless. Katsuyori Shibata vs. Shelton Benjamin took awhile to get going but damn good by the end Hirooki Goto vs. AJ Styles Good match. Crowd really into it by the end. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Bad Luck Fale Excellent performance from Tanahashi in a solid match. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Tomoaki Honma One or two problems aside, contender for match of the night, not a MOTYC but some great sequences, believable nearfalls and the crowd eating it all up Kazuchika Okada vs. Tetsuya Naito Another MOTN contender. Always been on the side of people saying their matches are overrated but this was a great end to the show. On a match per match basis for me its a better tournament than last year but last years best matches are smoking this years.. Makabe being out isn't a huge surprise he's looked in pain thoughout. He's looked in pain with his teeth/jaw since the Tag Title match Really hoping Tanahashi's not out, it would be a huge blow to the tournament. Plus Ishii/Tanahashi main event Day 6 and was my MOTY last year Shibata and Naito have huge momentum at the moment, New Japan have a real chance to make one of them sadly i still think the winner will be Nakamura or Okada. Which isn't a terrible move, have the winner beat Styles and then face each other at WK9. That Anderson video is awesome
  19. I thought Kojima had a great G1 last year but came out of it pretty banged up and has taken it easier ever since. Tenzan's had to take it easy over the last few years, he should be retired. Good to see both having good tournaments. Day 4 Apart from Yano/Goto (for obvious reasons) not a bad match on the show. Good good show, a contender for best day of the tournament so far. on an odd note sweaty as all hell, sweat everywhere, crowd with handfans, even the air looks salty..... Satoshi Kojima vs. Bad Luck Fale decent but skippable Shelton Benjamin vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. as above Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Minoru Suzuki: started very slow like two guys going through the motions but got better as it went on. Tenzanwatch: great effort from him but he looked ready for a rest. not essential but decent. Hirooki Goto vs. Toru Yano skippable Tomoaki Honma vs. Tomohiro Ishii: Match of the night and one of the best of the tournament. not quite as good as their match in May but damn good. Togi Makabe vs. Lance Archer enjoyable effort from both. Archer's growing on me, showed major charisma throughtout. Looked like they went to the finish early Yuji Nagata vs. Shinsuke Nakamura: Slow pace, plenty stiff. good match with both looking super tired, every move took a lot out of them. sweat everywhere. Tetsuya Naito vs. AJ Styles Solid to good. had plenty of good moments but didn't really grab me. Kazuchika Okada vs. Karl Anderson worked very well together. another good match Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Katsuyori Shibata: Good match with some big moments. Tanahashi's going to have bruises on his face tomorrow. Shibata's corner dropkick and spinning chop looked STIFF AS HELL. one day their going to have a great great match. Nakamura/Honma and Naito/Okada stick out from Day 5. --- Incredible to see Benjamin on maximum points but he still has to face Shibata, Nakamura, Kojima and Tanahashi so i don't see him making the finals. With the finals being in such a big venue i'm still seeing the big three making the finals, Tanahashi & Nakamura from group A and Okada from B..One of Naito, Goto or Makabe to make it too. Then i start to think they surely have to have the IWGP champ in a big match......... How things stand, spoilered for size
  20. Not looking above Day 3 (no spoilers) An ok show you get a feeling most were taking it easy. Short matches, i haven't checked but i'd guess nothing went over 15 minutes. Tomoaki Honma vs. Doc Gallows Nothing much to it, it was fine but skippable. Lance Archer vs. Karl Anderson: Ok, they did well to get the crowd onside. Enjoyable enough but again skippable Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Yujiro Takahashi: Decent but again not crying out for your attention. Probably going to say this every Tenzan match but he's looking good and he's had a good tournament. Tomohiro Ishii vs. Shelton Benjamin: Good, both worked well and it's nice to see Benjamin's brought his working boots this year. Tetsuya Naito vs. Toru Yano None more Yano really. cheats and cheats and Naito trys to get the better of him. enjoyable enough but nothing you have to see Katsuyori Shibata vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. Enjoyed this quite a bit once it got going, shame the finish came out of nowhere. Yuji Nagata vs. Bad Luck Fale a Fale match, slow, lumbering and in the end you don't give a damn. Worst on the show. Not terrible just meh Hirooki Goto vs. Minoru Suzuki: Fine not much more than Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Satoshi Kojima Match of the night. Not a MOTYC or anything but it's a match you should watch. Kazuchika Okada vs. Togi Makabe Good end to the show, second best match of the day. Reading that back and it sounds like a bad show but it isn't. i enjoyed most of it just not a show you have to see all of. Day 4 has Ishii/Honma and Tanahashi/Shibata....................:OverExcitedSmiley:
  21. Crowd on fire for the first half of the show even for Fale/Benjamin which is surprising for an all gaijin match, not as hot after intermission. I'd say there's not a bad match on the show but with it being G1 season there's a few that are skippable. Every match is under 15 minutes Day 2 (no spoilers) Satoshi Kojima vs.Tomohiro Ishii: Favourite match of the show. Must watch Shelton Benjamin vs. Bad Luck Fale: i nearly skipped over this but pretty good for these two. they kept it short and pacey. Hirooki Goto vs. Yujiro Takahashi: As good a match as Yujiro's ever had. pretty good actually. Tetsuya Naito vs. Lance Archer: I'm not a huge fan of Archer but they really clicked. worth watching to see Archers early 90's WCW jobber pants. Yuji Nagata vs. Tomoaki Honma At times real good, a few problems but a fun sprint Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Davey Boy Smith Jr. decent. noticably slower then the other matches. not essential. Toru Yano vs. AJ Styles: It's Yano vs Styles nothings going to surprise you, always interesting seeing different styles class. it's fine. Kazuchika Okada vs. Hiroyoshi Tenzan Probably the best match after intermission: Tenzan's looking healthy and performing well. Togi Makabe vs. Karl Anderson: didn't do a lot for me, Makabe looks in serious pain. Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Doc Gallows: not too hot. it's fine but skippable I'd say watch all the first half of the show up to Nakamura/Smith and then watch Okada/Tenzan if you're pushed for time.
  22. He also fucked up with Okada in the second Styles match. Video of the fuck up (credit: SenorLARIATO) https://pbs.twimg.com/tweet_video/BtDUfSKCAAAISao.mp4 Day 1 (no spoilers) Tomohiro Ishii vs. Big Lump Fale Surprisingly good considering it's Fale but Ishii again is awesome here Shelton Benjamin vs. Doc Gallows: very skippable Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Karl Anderson: Decent, skippable if you don't have the time Satoshi Kojima vs. Yuji Nagata: very enjoyable Toru Yano vs. Minoru Suzuki: Skip it Tetsuya Naito vs. Yujiro Takahashi: Good inspite of Yujiro's usually shittyness Togi Makabe vs. Hirooki Goto Not a big fan of it, still decent Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Tomoaki Honma huge fun, Tanahashi as awesome as always, Honma proving he deserves his spot. Crowd loved it. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Katsuyori Shibata Not as great as i was hoping but still pretty good. Some are saying MOTYC but not for me. Kazuchika Okada vs. AJ Styles: The worst of their three matches but still good. FWIW I'm not a Styles guy so maybe you'll like it more than me.
  23. No G1 spoilers here.... "You call that a knife? "No it's a sword dumbass" "Okada not in a party mood Okada ready for battle Okada playing some sort of sport Okada makin it rain
