Except those were deals done late in the day and clear cut. Guys gave notice, they were gone.

The more I think about it, the less i buy any of it. The Elite are far too important to both NJPW’s expansion and AWE’s inception. The relevant parties here are too smart and too passionate to drop the ball in either court. I suspect there’s a good 1-2 year plan already etched out.

Yeah, I have this feeling that this will be a set-up for an inter promotional feud between both companies. It has to be. If not, then I’ll eat a hat.

Here's the thing: the amount of money it would cost to sign Kenny would put them in a position where they have to push him as a top guy to justify the cost. I don't think they'd bury him unless it completely flopped. I don't know I trust creative to get him over with people who don't know him though.

I'd rather he does NJPW with a side of AEW, but if he comes to Stamford, I'm fine with it.

A boatload of money didn’t stop them from half-heartedly pushing Big Show, Mark Henry, Alberto Del Rio, Shinsuke Nakamura... etc.

Goldust was obviously a great performer but since when does he have a “creative mind”?

In theory we believe he has a great mind for the business like his brother, and father. But then we might be wrong, and he has a horrible mind for the business like saaaaaay... Tom Thibodeau.

  4. Kenny is already the theoretical star of AEW before it’s debut US show. It’d be crazy for him to go to the WWE were they’ll give him about 3 months of rope before deciding whether he’s a top star, or not. After that he won’t be guaranteed a long time at the top. If AEW is a success in theory, he has a potential to be on top of that promotion for 8, or 10 years given his age. I personally would rather give it a go as the top star out of the gate, rather than “The Dream” of working for Vince.

I'm pretty sure Road Dogg deleted his tweet, which amounted to "she has no dignity or class". Gail Kim didn't like it either, wishing instead Priscilla Kelly would have told a story in the ring with her talents instead.

Tommy Dreamer likened it to Mr. Socko (calling it Ms. Stinkflo), and doesn't have a problem with it.

EDIT: Hey, Road Dogg didn't delete it. Just posted a half-hearted apology. Here's the original tweet.

Wasn’t he the head writer during the Jinder, and Shinsuke feud?

I know who AEW should go after.

  6. I’d be totally okay with White winning it. We don’t need another long Tana reign, and Okada can most definitely win the belt from White to get his win back prior to the G1. White gets his moment in the sun, and is now considered legit. We later can get Naito winning the briefcase, which leads to Okada Vs. Naito at the Dome III. This all seems like the most likely outcome.

Only one I would consider is Savoy, and from what little I've seen she's regressed significantly since her injury.

I'd say Allisyn Kay and Kylie Rae are no brainers, Jordynne Grace too if she isn't under contract with Impact. Don't see them signing more than 4 or 5 regulars in total, so I'd look to add some lower profile talents as part timers. Someone like Samantha Heights, Willow Nightingale and AQA.

Santana Garrett would be someone I’d look at. Although she might be signed to WOW.... Wait a minute. Maybe they can do a talent exchange with WOW. Beat WWE to the punch by bringing the best women’s  Tag Team back into the national spotlight.

  8. Also they shouldn’t be afraid to give away tickets to these early shows to make these shows look full. Vince, and company might’ve jumped on that little fact(Even though Vince has been papering his shows for years) about WCW back in the day, but Turner’s promotion eventually came out on top because of it. Also doing that produced great crowds in 95/96(The 4 weeks of Nitro in Disney proved that). Maybe even created new fans because of it.

And before you do, we’ll need you to be clear about who you’re referring to: Alfred or Michael?

Clearly we know who he’s talking about...

But seriously, I can’t put a lot of those dudes in the same tier as Gene when it comes to interviewer, and the guy at the update desk presenting the week in storylines. Only guy that comes close is Sean Mooney. Who added his own little spin as a Sam The Eagle annoyed straight man type to wrestlers.

I was searching for the series of tweets where Chuck Taylor and Excalibur were making fun of the tapped ribs, but they've apparently been deleted.

Chuck Taylor basically was saying he was fat and covering his gut with the bandage and Excalibur said it looked like the type of injury you got from eating a three layer wedding cake.

    *Snicker*

DDP had that same issue too.

Genius of them to get James Wan for Aquaman who not only knows how to film action scenes, he's really good at filming moving actions scenes.

The fucking submarine stuff in Aquaman is cinematic magic.

That’s a word I haven’t used in quite a few years. Where I ask “How the fuck did they do that”.

All the 360 camera shots, plus tight close-ups are things I’ve never seen done so well until this.

You know what I'm surprised I haven't seen, in terms of moves?

I can't describe it well, but let me see if this works: Rude Awakening setup, Diamond Cutter execution.

Curtis Axel’s finisher was like that. But the cutter part looked like Johnny Ace’s Ace Crusher driver(though without spiking the head into the ground) he did once to Shiga when G.E.T. turned on Kobashi.
