They like to get meta. If Omega is World Champ and keeps doing promos about how he's world number one and nobody else is on his level, a lot of his fans already believe that about him. It's a natural angle, I'd be surprised if they didn't do it.

Exactly... Kenny, and the Bucks must realize that Kenny was at his best when he was doing that. Also... nostalgia talk. When I was a kid I was always intrigued by heel world champions I didn’t know about, like Shane Douglas, and wondered why this prick was so kayfabe respected by the faces. It was the same with other kids in school whether it was ECW, or Battledome(T-Money). I want young people to have that same feeling when they come across a random episode of AEW.

It would be awful if the first champion was old man Jericho. Who would be better off in a WCW Freebirds team instead of being a singles star.

The sleeveless coat lasted but the hat with it didn't. This photo was taken after the Undertaker regained the WWF Championship from Sycho Sid at WrestleMania 13.

When I was a kid I loved Taker during this period. But in retrospect he was terrible as a character, and a promo. He had some great moments, but you can tell they lost the mystique when they humanized him, and had him fueding with normal dudes who were cooler than his lame ass goth phase.

It is and it isn't. Whilst she was pretty much more attractive as "Everyone's Favourite Girlfriend" Jessie McKay, the first rule of Wrestling is Do something to differentiate yourself. And on that basis, her Iconic WWE look is arguably more valuable than the cute brunette #4/ Girl next door of your wildest dreams concept.

I agree... But if you’re a McMahon/Dunn apologist, you’d agree that looking like a sixteen year olds wet dream would be the best look to make you a star.

  4. I was just thinking about Once Upon A Time In The West, and how originally Clint Eastwood was going to play Harmonica. I wonder how that would’ve worked. Like I don’t think Eastwood would’ve played a Native American, so that little character trait wouldn’t have been there. But would’ve he have been just “The Man with No Name” with a new name, and gimmick, or would’ve he worn a completely different outfit?

As probably the only guy who actually missed Bray while he's been out, I am so torn by this. So much of his booking on the main show has been utter garbage. And as much as I love the guy, I'll admit he's done himself no real favors with some of his bullshit promos. But the dude does have a legit charisma. And there's a lot of potential here with a wolf in sheep's clothing deal happening. It's hard to have faith in the creative goons to make this happen, and at least on first glance it's hard to see how this translates into the ring. Does he bring the puppets with him?

In Bray’s defense he was channeling Charles Manson who’s rambling interviews that went nowhere were the basis for his promo style.

After she lands and crushes Nattie.  Also, she drifted to her left, she's clearly off center to the left when she lands.

But wait that’s your left. She’s falling backwards towards Nattie so her back dominates the direction. So she’s shifting right instead of left, right?

To be fair - it did lead to the funniest thing I have seen Lana say

I have to admit that was a really good moonsault. She didn’t overshoot, and she even shifted mid-air when she noticed Nattie was a little out of position. Only issue was her landing knee first. Though almost par with Kobashi’s moonsaults when it comes to being accurate 99%. As opposed to Charlotte who is 20% on those.

Loved the La Vela Nitros (including the last ever!).

My favorite Nitro setup was the Summer 96 ones outdoors at Disney. Now this may be because one of the hottest angles in history was just kicking off, but I loved the ambience. One of the best runs of a weekly wrestling show IMO.

I’m surprised there has never been a wrestling show at one of the Wide World of Sports gyms/complexes yet.
