Road to Tokyo Dome shows? I remember they quickly did a NEVER Six-Man title change last year so they could get that match on the card. I really hope they don’t do Ibushi/Goto at the Dome. I’ve never been impressed by their matches together.

So I guess they’re hotshotting it onto Ibushi before the Dome to still get that Ibushi/Ospreay match.

Since Brock and Ronda are almost certainly gonna win, SD needs something so I guess they’ll probably take the 5 on 5 match and Nakamura will win. He won’t win clean though. Rollins is much higher in the company pecking order and Ambrose will probably interfere to screw Rollins.

Also, Jericho/EVIL must’ve been the shortest NJPW PPV main event in like 2 years, right?

So are they going forward with Goto as NEVER Champ at the Dome and doing Ibushi/Ospreay as special singles? Who could Goto face?

ZSJ was fantastic tonight. He was on point in execution, storytelling, and awesome selling of the neck. Anybody else think Naito’s performance was rather uninspired? He didn’t even bother trying to sell the damage ZSJ gave him, got his shit in, and won. I really felt Naito didn’t bring it tonight. As a result, it was definitely the weakest of their trilogy this year. Also, is it just me or is Naito getting a bit chubby? That gut was hanging all the way out.

Which match was it? Sugiura vs Shiozaki?

I definitely agree but no way Will Ospreay is better, that’s absurdity.

True but that’s what people said about NJPW at the beginning. Oh, “it’s just Okada matches going long” but no it ended being a new NJPW main event guideline. It got so bad that New Japan Cup first round matches were going 30. Every PPV main events has to go 30+.

So it looks like this show absolutely slaughtered all the goodwill WWE had gotten after the great Evolution show.

I haven’t watched this show but the consensus online seems to be that it was an abortion. So was it really THAT bad?

Anybody else think AJPW is starting to fall in the trap of main event “epics”? The last 3 or 4 Triple Crown title matches have all been 30+ minutes and they often dragged early in the match. They were all great matches but I think they could’ve been cut down a bit and not lost anything. Specifically, both Kento-Zeus matches apply here. This is the same trap NJPW has fallen into where the main events are still great but almost all of them would be better if they were 10 minutes shorter. I thought AJPW had the sweet spot with 20-25 minutes but these matches have been going LONG recently. Zeus/Ishikawa for example, did not need to go 30 minutes at all. What do you guys think?

What if they give it to Goto to hotshot it to Ibushi right before WK at like WTL Final or one of the Road to Tokyo Dome shows. Ibushi beat Goto in G1 so he would have a claim to a title shot. While I don’t really think they could find a path to Taichi/Ibushi.

LMAO, they’re really going back to the Goto well. I wonder if he actually goes over here.

If Tokyo Dome sells out this year, I think it’s fair to say that they try Osaka Dome for Dominion. It’s clear that Dominion has outgrown Osaka-Jo but there’s no large arena between Osaka-Jo and Osaka Dome in size. Anyway, isn’t Yokohama part of the Tokyo metro area? Wouldn’t the markets overlap?
