  1. I went back and watched it since I judge every show based off of the Buffy/Angel shows. Even if I felt like Angel wasted two fucking seasons on the stupid storyline with his son and wasted one of the biggest bad ass monsters in the history of that shows universe as an avatar for evil Cordelia. Anyway I would say Fred for me is the worst. Its not even close for me.
  2. On a side note I feel like I have to watch this show with a fucking map because there are so many people that I need to look up like the Boltons, like where the Unsullied are and have been because outside of places they talk about constantly. Kings Landing, The Wall, The North, the Iron Islands, and wherever Stannis is Dragonborne I wanna say I got no idea where these places are. I also find it strange that seemingly outside of Kings Landing there are zero fucks given to who the king is and his influence outside of Kings Landing seems minimal at best. Maybe I'm too dense to see it but I see all these guys wanting to be King and I get you're King and all but outside of Kings Landing who cares? Hell it seems like everybody outside of Kings Landing thinks of themself as king anyway and that wouldn't change no matter who was king I would imagine everyone else would still feel as though they are still the one true king.
  3. I really hate that it seems like the Bolton/Greyjoy story has gotten seemingly three times the screen time as the Snow/Willdlings story despite that being the much more interesting story. Right now I think my interest in stories goes Kings Landing/The Wall/ and then the Unsullied. Before I was a lot more into the Unsullied storyline but since they took up residence in the castle not shit has happened that has interested me. I felt like this last episode had important stuff happen but I was still bored with it. Maybe I just felt like this trial thing has dragged and has largely been pretty dull other than the one awesome scene by Tyrion where he requested the trial by combat. Hopefully the epic 9 streak continues tomorrow.
  4. Does Wesley die? That sucks I could have sworn I remember him meeting up with the others at the end of Angel but I suppose note. Wesley is a top five character of mine. I loved his transition as a character. Fred sucked as well but it wasn't as much heart wrenching as it was just stupid. She comes back as Illyria and everytime I see him I'm just like "just fucking bring back Fred".
  5. I liked this episode well enough. I feel like they kind of tossed a lot of things they were building to away. Lou became an instant after thought with the buy out. I figured they were building to a Lou/Don throwdown of some sorts. I guess Don doesn't really get the story of redemption the way I figured they were going with it. I guess I was hoping he would somehow defeat Lou and Cutler but really he didn't overcome anything. I felt like this wasn't a retcon per say but a way for them to take the crappy merger story and the inner company struggle with Don and get rid of them in one quick, tidy way. Which I'm glad they got rid of them but none the less it felt tacked on. Hell even Bert's death was random as hell. I liked the episode and I like that in theory the second half of the season won't be emo Don and people I don't know plotting to get Don fired. Things in theory should be more streamlined now for the back half of the episodes. As much as I love this show I was WAY more upset about Lane killing himself than I was about Bert dying and Bert was on the show what five times as long as Lane? I don't care about Don's seperation since I don't think they ever explored a quality story between Don and Meaghan. Hell I'm hard pressed to find too many really truly "man these guys are in true love" type scenes between the two. To where as with Betty even if he fucked around on her you could feel his love for her. I'm not sure what to expect moving forward but I like the direction they are headed. One more note I used to feel a lot of sympathy for Joan in seasons past and I'm sure her character is justified but her seemingly constant dislike of Don this season has really put me off. It sucks we have to wait a year for what six episodes?
  6. Yeah I pretty much loved everything to do with the Gilmore girls. When I first met my wife that was her show and I enjoyed the dialogue. Mcarthy was awesome in that role. Sadly I'm not sure I'll ever see another McCarthy film. Identity Thief and the last season of her television show have given me my fill.
  7. Nah, Trask was more of a weaselly villain really. I read that first time as you were trying to mow the lawn in the manner of a Heel, but messed up and turned Babyface halfway through . I read it that way as well. I found the image of someone heel mowing their lawn as awesome.
  8. Yeah she's never really been a big deal in any of their media. I think outside of comic books the biggest role I've seen her have is in one of the X Men video games the pre cursors to the Marvel Alliance games. She doesn't play a big part in the cartoons, she's ignored entirely in the first three movies, killed off in this one well before this one.
  9. Doesn't Wolverine say that he knows Peter. Is it ever established HOW he knows this kid? I missed that part.
  10. Yeah he got the biggest reaction in my theater as well. I hope they have something more for him to do moving forward. I kind of thought he would show up during the climax but I guess from a story perspective it wouldn't work for what they were going for. Also maybe its just me but I thought that William Stryker looked JUST like Sean William Scott. Maybe it was his mannerisms and the little smirks he gave I don't know but thats all I could think of when I saw him on screen.
  11. Yeah I think this was the passing of the torch to the First Class crew. I have to say I hated First Class or atleast most of it. I thought I would dread them being featured in this one. Luckily they only featured the good ones. I enjoyed these guys. I am very Wolverined out though. During the first two movies he did a fantastic job but it seems a lot of the mannerisms and such that he was so good with during the first two have faded away. It was cool seeing Iceman. I wish they would have done more with Ellen Page. All in all they have done a great job rebooting this franchise without actually rebooting it. I'm even more excited for Apocalypse.
  12. Quicksilver stole the show. I liked the conversation he had with Magneto in the Elevator. I also dug the Scarlet Witch cameo. I really liked this movie a lot. The opening scene is pretty awesome. I feel sorry for Ellen Page she spent 90 percent of the movie doing ONE thing. I really liked this movie. Me personally before this my favorite movie of the franchise was the first X Men. I don't know if I liked this one more than that one but its my number two favorite in the series. Did I miss how they explained Xavier not being dead? Also did Xavier show up at the end of the last Wolverine movie? What was that about? I also thought that he never met X until the first movie, when the second Wolverine movie takes place in 1945 technically nearly a hundred years or atleast a good 75 years before the "near future" original movie. Outside of that any complains I have are minimal. I did enjoy the cameos a lot and I'm sure I missed a ton of easter eggs.
  13. Ten minutes!!! My theater here in Ofallon is half full of course it's on 8 screens or so I was worried about getting a good seat although I guess mountain dew is more important than a good movie seat since I got my drink with ten minutes before showtime.
  14. I agree when you said she needs a straightman I was thinking Bullock was by far the best straight man she's had. I actually prefer her in her TV show well before the last season when they went all Melissa Mcarthy show. She showed a pretty decent range of talents in that show but her movies are pretty awful. In fact I didn't even think Bridesmaids deserved near the hype it got. I guess its the same for Kevin Hart, 99 percent of the time he's not funny. He just keeps talking and talking until eventually his character says something amusing.
  15. I still have like eight hours before I can see this damn thing. Its killing me. Big Fresh you're from St. Louis as well? Which theater did you see this at so early?
  16. Yeah and you're right a lot do. I think I was talking more in terms of other movies such as Iron Man 3, Hell the first Hulk film has like a 63. So I guess for it to be ten points lower than some of the more panned movies seems shocking to me. Again I didn't like the movie all that much but I thought it had its good moments. Certainly liked it more than IM 2 and 3. Well, it's not nearly as good as the first Hulk film! (yeah, I remain one of the like 10 people in the world who liked that movie. Wait, it's only 9 now, Ebert died and now I'm sad again.) I probably liked it more than IM 2, definitely not more than IM 3*. Someone else said that it kinda paid for the sins of the entire current superhero movie thing, with critics kind of drawing a line in the sand with just how much it's clearly purely product and not art. *I really liked Iron Man 3 a lot, and it was the rare superhero movie that I think was actually better the second time I watched it. But it, much like MoS and TDKR, tends to be extremely divisive. Man I HATED Iron Man 3. I hated Iron Man 2 as well. From the trailers I thought Whiplash was going to just fucking wreck Iron Man. Then I find out he gets one really good scene, then he becomes a corporate pawn for an evil businessman. Then Iron Man 3 comes out and I thought the Mandarin was going to WRECK Iron Man. Then I find out he gets a FEW good scenes before he's revealed to be a corporate pawn for an evil businessman. Superman returns was pretty awful. As was the first Hulk movie. Spiderman 2 was amazing though. Of course I think I'm one of the few people that liked Tobey and Dunst in their roles. I liked X2 but I enjoyed the first one better. I just enjoyed Magneto being a bad guy, I'm a Sabertooth mark so that was fun and I felt like Mane WAS Sabertooth. I have no fucking idea what that abomination was in Wolverine Origins. Of course I guess you could say that about the whole movie. I think the critics were making a statement and I think its also been less than ten years since we rebooted the franchise and in my opinion delivered two awesome movies. I'm all for rebooting or re imagining If its been a generation since the franchise was around ala Batman. I'm not all for it if its rebooted within ten years of itself. You have to wonder though with it bombing critically and financially (I know it'll make its money back) won't studios be concerned about what the next movie will bring on? I mean its what two years out? Shouldn't they be worried that it'll perform twice as bad as this one? They really can't do much though since there is no way they shelve it but why make a tentpole movie like that when there is atleast a 50 percent chance it bombs hard.
  17. Yeah this episode was a return to what I like as well the advertising, the politicking, the gaining and losing clients. Oddly enough I was suprised to see Bob. I thought he was an interesting part of the cast last year and then kind of disappeared this year. I had forgotten about the whole hitting on Pete thing. Really thinking about it it seems that the female leads on this show have had much higher career progression than any of the men. Outside of Don moving to partner which even before he was a partner it felt like he might as well be with as much stroke as he had there. Peggy started out a secretary and best I can tell in their mangled merger she's SUPPOSED to be head of creative or was atleast. Joan started out what basically head secretary for lack of a better term and now she's a partner. I guess Pete's done well for himself but he strikes me as the type that had the political ambition to make partner one day anyway.
  19. In my opinion TDK is better than Avengers. Thats about it though. Really though outside of a few failed Superman movies and a GL movie they haven't exactly put a lot of their properties on the big screen. Not like Marvel. Anyway I didn't enjoy Avengers that much. I thought it was ok but not even close to even the best Marvel movie. I liked both X Men movies, the first two Spidermans, Iron Man and Captain America all better off the top of my head.
  20. Fair enough on the shows almost half over. Technically Mad Men was a spring show as well. The Strain looks interesting but I'm not familiar with the source material. I watched the first ten minutes of Silicon Valley and I don't think I laughed. Of course it was also late so I'll have to give it another go.
  21. Kinda surprised TDKR got 88. It sounds like its going to be right under the "elite" movies Avengers, TDK, SM2. Of course then again I'm sure most people consider X2 a top tier quality film even if I oddly enough prefer the first one. I think that ASM2 rating is harsh. Its not a great movie but its not 53 either. I'd put it in the high sixties low seventies.
