  1. As an Arsenal fan, it’s lovely to start the season without thinking we really need a midfield destroyer to protect the defenders. Gilberto has finally been replaced.
  2. Colt’s podcast is worth checking out as an insight into the court case. Does a really good job of conveying his emotions and inner turmoil/stress the case caused him.
  3. If only the trial had been postponed so the answer could be, “The Mayor of Knox County”.
  4. Noticed that the Australian show has a question mark and thought I’d add some background info about Melbourne and Australia that might fill in some gaps. The stadium the WWE wants to book, the MCG, has a really small window when it’s available. The AFL (local football league) finishes on September 30 this year and the cricket season’s first match is November 23. However the cricket pitch needs to be dropped in a few weeks in advance at which point hosting an event on the MCG surface becomes impossible. This means that October is the only feasible month for the tour. This however means avoiding clashes with the spring racing carnival. Whilst you may not think the crossover between racegoers and the WWE would make a very compact Venn diagram, Melbourne is above everything else an event town. If you hold the world championships of tiddlywinks and promote it properly 100,000 will show up. It’s just that kind of town. So to avoid clashes, that probably rules out the 16th and 23rd of October, leaving the 9th as the only conceivable date. With the announcement of the second Saudi show the Melbourne show just might not be a priority. Also, Melbourne’s spring weather is extremely fickle and the thought of sending your top stars out in the rain may not be high on the company’s risk assessors’ list of priorities. This is all conjecture of course and I have no idea what WWE is thinking. But hey, it’s still four hours til the cup starts and I have time on my hands.
  5. So i decided to throw ten bucks AJPW’s way and watch the 2017 & 2018 carnivals. And what do you lknow but Plex can’t find the videos on the ajpw.tv website in order to watch through my PS4. Of course I can run a hdmi cable from my laptop to tv so it isn’t a massive issue. Just wondering if anybody has a work around that doesn’t involve buying a chromecast.
  6. 100,000 seat stadium rumoured to be booked in Melbourne, Australia* in October. If that goes ahead Rhonda v Charlotte will headline that show. *Is the same town that Rousey v Holm sold 50K+ tickets a couple of years back.
  7. Is that where HHH hits his finisher, cooks dinner, has a phone conversation with his extended family, writes his memoirs, then makes the cover?
  8. Has anybody got a list of Schneider’s Dustin of the Day? Was thinking I might see what’s available on the network from the list.
  9. Totally agree. The best thing about them is that they are so certain of their superiority that they don't have to constantly mention it. To them it is a given so it comes across as completely arrogant and heelish.
  10. I arrived home last night having consumed far too many beers and fell asleep on the couch. Before drifting off I did watch Austin v Vader from Raw on December 16,1996. To my barely functioning brain this was a lovely little brutal TV match that had me cursing that the pair never went 20 minutes on PPV. I thought about rewatching it in the morning but decided against it in case I had misjudged it in my non compos mentis state. My advice: drink 12 beers then watch this match.
  11. I usually don't hear calls either and heard them in both the HIAC and the main. But the ring mic was noticeably high throughout the show, and the volume of the crowd noise was constantly changing.
  12. So it has been years since I posted and I do miss the green background. I only just started watching wrestling again in the last six months and it seems that it is the same WWE as ten years ago. With that in mind here is what I liked. The women's title match. As Lynch took the fall, it might be setting up the payoff of Banks v Flair in Brooklyn. Would love it if they were the main event at Summerslam but that is probably wishful thinking. The entire mid card destroying their bodies for my enjoyment in the IC match. The play-by-play announcer on the pre-show (sorry I don't know his name). Perhaps he is a tad too excited for 7am as it was in Australia, but it is nice to have somebody knowledgeable about the name of moves and history calling matches. AJ v Jericho. I have only seen one of their previous matches so it wasn't stale from my perspective. Don't get me wrong, I'll probably never watch the match again, but it was decent wrestling with a couple of false finishes that kept my interest.
