To be fair - Larry was ridiculously over during that time. Every Nitro started with the crowds chanting his name, waiting for his ackniwledgement. He also seemed to be the Bischoff's biggest foe. He was definitely over. I was a little surprised that there was no mention from either Larry or Hansen about their time in the AWA. Backlund and Hansen really come off as genuine... whereas I get the feeling that Larry isn't liked very much by his peers.

Precisely. The XFL could have been a haven for the college guys from the option, fun n' gun, etc type schools. In theory it would have extended their 15 minutes of fame and given the viewers and ancestors to see what thst kind of athlete can be become being in the same type of system their whole careers.

I bet the XFL could have been a better quality of football if they adopted more a college game. All the guys that came from your non conventional NFL offenses probably could have produced quite well running the triple option as a pro in in the XFL.

I hate the concept of an annual draft. There should be a treading window of a month 2x a year. Keeps the continuity + gives you that added old time realism of "what are they doing here?!?"
