Bret Hart was so-so-so-so gosh darn great in 1997. The best year ever for wrestling in my opinion and he was the catalyst.

I have to push back a bit on Dave's NBA playoffs theory. The 76ers and Heat series is about the least interesting series going on right now and neither have that big of a fan base.
Some will disagree but I think Tony has booked too far towards a niche of a niche with some things..
Take Danhausen for instance. He was a popular character for a small group of people but you bring it to a national audience and people don't get it.. it's not explained.. people are just left wondering what the hell is this??
You book an ROH women's title unification match between one relative unknown to a national audience and another who had a cup of coffee in NXT and there's no build to it.. you kind of deserve to lose 100k viewers.
They have Bryan Danielson and Mox in a stable with Regal, Sting with Darby, CM Punk, Undisputed Era, Keith Lee, Swerve, MJF and Wardlow, cool little factions like Team Tazz and tag teams that can get over with a national audience like The Acclaimed, Jade Cargill and the baddies etc.. and almost none of these people have anything interesting going on, some do but a lot don't.. they have an embarrassment of riches and they do nothing with a lot of them.
Why is the TNT title centered around Dan Lambert?
Why is Jade in so many non-factor feuds?
Why is JE still the tag champs when there's a handful of teams more over than they are?
At some point you need to book towards what most people are going to be interested in. An ROH women's title match isn't going to cut it, this is TNT.. not public access.
The Danhausen thing is weird. I expected vignettes by this point for him. I think this is a case of Coach TK thinking everyone that follows AEW is an uber-indy fan... when that is so opposite from reality.
Page's title run is almost non-existent for me. The Cole thing was "whatever", and one I had zero interest in... but who would you have programmed him with over the winter? Coach hasn't exactly built anyone up thats a legitimate threat. Instead he hotshotted a new signing that really had no business being there if AEW really takes W/L and rankings seriously. Scorpio Sky would have had a stronger case to feud with Page than Cole.
They could have even worked a Miro PPV main event during this run.

Wow. This vignette is a throwback to the 80s and early 90s. Good job.

According to cagematch Morrissey has done just 1 match with Enzo since his release in 2019. Why does everyone automatically assume the 2 are still joined at the hip?
Well you see them team up a bit in their social media

I've seen a little bit of Morrissey in Impact and he's vastly improved from his WWE run. He's also leaned up and looks "ripped chiseled and jakked".
If he ends up in AEW I think we wpuld sooner or later see nZo pop up.

From the WON radio show this morning - here was Dave's thoughts regarding Discovery/Warner Bros cutting programming
- Dave must have said "anything can happen" a dozen times which is kinda of his way of not ruling anything out no matter how unlikely it might be
- It was during those times where he was like "reasons AEW could end" and it was things like "TK grows to hate wrestling", "TK sells the company". Only reason I am mentioning all of this is because I am sure some shitty clickbait site will post "MELTZER SAYS TK IS LOOKING TO SELL!!!!" and the story will get wildly twisted.
- He doesn't believe AEW would get "cancelled". However, the bigger issue is that AEW will be looking for a rights increase and, at this very moment, it doesn't look like Discovery/WB might necessarily want to give them what they are looking for. They (AEW) could continue to operate at the same money level they currently are on but without the rights increase it would be difficulty for them to grow (to at least allow them to do their bigger picture ideas).
- Like mentioned several times - AEW getting a streaming deal (especially if it is HBO Max) will go a long way in securing their place in the company.
- He said "he wouldn't call it good news for AEW" due to the budget cutting and that the one area that Discovery/WB is looking to expand is getting the rights to more sports (not wrestling).
So when do they rebrand the TNT Title to the Box Office Championship?

We will see if below has any effects on AEW
Then again they might just ask for more AEW on TBS tv like the old WCW days. AEW is still part of the "sports" section.
TBS was dead to me when WCW died and it was no longer The Braves Station. Then they got rid of the Beverley Hillbillies!
What a pointless network TBS has been for 20+ years.

Manchester United get a penalty. BruNO takes it and BruNO misses.
Newcastle has the only Bruno that matters now.

Good luck, Erik ten Hag. You're going to need it. Amazing how far Manchester United's fallen.
I really dont think it's going to work out. United has too much invested in the squad on ridiculous wages. The team needs to be blown up, and I doubt Ten Hag will be allowed to do that. United is already in debt somewhere in the range of 450-495£m.

I think South America likely gets the Centenary one.
Uruguay would be special- but they'd probably group it as Argentina/Uruguay, and maybe Chile?

I dont understand why they stopped doing those. Cheap production, guys on legends contracts telling stories, someone from the office there to make sure the WWE story is out there. and most of them were great. (Not a huge fan of the Mike Graham ones and Flair was hard to watch)
Well they all kinda started dying off.

Howay The Lads! WWWWWW in their last 6 at Saint James! Miggy with the brilliance today!
Eddie Howe took a club without a win this campaign, sitting in 19th just 3 points above 20th place Norwich... and currently has them in 11th.

You can't sell wrestling to a bunch of networks when the roster is filled with guys who look like accountants. We know that Brian Danielson, Rey Mysterio, AJ Styles, and other smaller wrestlers are awesome, but they aren't interested in selling us anything.
Are you going to sit there and tell me Drew By God Gulak isn't a draw?!

Even from a WWE perspective thst makes zero sense. FTR are too short, work too smart, not strong enough, and are too much of a tag team. You can't split them up as then you'd have 2 wasted salaries sitting in catering.

SRS is reporting that WWE is interested in requiring FTR. Their deal expires this summer, but AEW can exercise an option year.
Other than money- why would they? FTR are more concerned with their legacy at this point. I see them adding New Japan to their calendar more than I do them going back to Titan.
