  1. @porksweats Windham/Rhodes vs Barbarian/Butch Reed. J.R., Jesse Ventura, and Cactus Jack on commentary.
  2. "We're going to need a bigger Bowie knife."
  3. Good. A reason to start watching again.
  4. Lord Melody's lyrically re-worked version of Sir Lancelot's song as covered by The Stylistics.
  5. Johnny Cash & Odetta performing the version of Sir Lancelot's Shame and Scandal in the Family that appeared in the 1943 film I Walked with a Zombie.
  6. Niven would be a great subject for this kind of treatment. Hell, they could just do a series on British stars in war-time Hollywood and I'd probably pay for the Patreon version.
  7. On the 3rd episode of The Secret History of Hollywood Val Lewton series. I think the thing I like about it most is the fairly comprehensive digressions into the lives of those around Lewton. I eagerly await Elizabeth Russell's turn. If it doesn't happen I'll be bummed.
  8. Just finished the first episode. 2 hours and 12 minutes to get to that point but every minute of it was engrossing.
  9. That's exactly why I love it the most. It really is brilliant in that it is the Lewton film that shows you the most in terms of a supernatural element in the form of the spectral Irena and yet it is almost certainly the product of the imagination of a lonely child and Lewton's most plausible film. And yeah, that scene from The Leopard Man is truly heart-breaking.
  10. Liked this post. For me, The 7th Victim would be #3 after The Curse of the Cat People and Cat People respectively and followed by The Leopard Man, I Walked With a Zombie, and Bedlam as the cream of the crop. I'm probably a little higher on The Body Snatcher but it would still come after Isle of the Dead and The Ghost Ship. Can't really go wrong with any of those, though. I also have a weird crush on Elizabeth Russell who shows up in several Lewton films and is basically the villainess of Curse.
  11. OK @DEAN a day late and always a dollar short, here is a little stocking stuffer for you featuring Mickie James and my new favorite wrestler evah!!!, Cherry Bomb (The Bunny). I had considered giving you Taeler Hendrix-Allison Kay but that thing is damned near rated R and this is the better match anyway. I still have matches to review which I will definitely get done tomorrow. Luckily I never got my week 2 match so it'll go a little easier.
  12. I don't believe that for a minute and I think that most people that think of Flash Gordon because of the connection with Queen haven't the foggiest idea who directed it but I'm not arguing with you, he's known for both. However, there have probably easily been several hundred thousand more words devoted to discussing Get Carter.
  13. I feel like he is probably best known for Get Carter but nothing wrong with having Flash Gordon on your resume.
  14. @SirSmellingtonofCascadia Apologies for not getting your pick reviewed yet. I'll probably get it done Tuesday. In the meantime @Super Ape, let's party like it's 1999 with Mariko Yoshida and Hiromi Yagi putting on a wrestling clinic. ALL HAIL QUEEN YOSHIDA!!!!
  15. Those lazy savages! But hey, when Cameron invents time-travel he can go back and screen his Avatar films for them. It'll be better than the St. Crispin's Day speech. And those that prefer the slow, mind numbing path of hopelessness and despair can watch Titanic.
  16. I still know all the words to I'm Just a Bill .... but I like to spice it up with a liberal dose of F-bombs.
  17. To add my two cents, I don't spend much thought on analyzing pro wrestling matches despite decades of fandom so this will be different for me as well. I feel like we are basically amongst friends here so I don't anticipate being embarrassed by the quality of my writing.
  18. DDP Yoga makes you healthy enough to smoke. This is probably the best one yet. Don't recall ever hearing Duggan story or or the one about Cowboy-Brown so that was nice.
  19. With that kind of runtime you could easily watch a different movie.
