Yeah I get they want to keep these guys healthy but the conversion rate on "guys that have running skills" to "guys under orders not to run who become great" is, like, absurdly low. If you're not prepared to deal with the "5 cool years then ruined by injuries" style why even use those guys to begin with? Anyway, this game... the Rams really make a lot of mistakes. San Fransisco hasn't really been that impressive but the Rams just keep shooting themselves in the foot. Could still be one that comes down to the wire.

Kaepernick (apparently) under orders to be just another pocket passer is absolutely nothing special at all. The constant NFL obsession with trying to turn QB's into something they obviously aren't might be striking again, though you'd hope not in the long run.

Highlight of the Flames/Coyotes preseason game was Mike Smith pulling a dude's hair. He really is the second coming of Ron Hextall. Bless his heart. What the hell is wrong with people this preseason?

I took Safety Not Guaranteed. It sounded like a pretty quirky premise which is up my alley. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet but maybe this weekend.

Darnell Nurse (this year's 7th overall pick) is making a really serious push to make the Oilers, and not in an ironic "haha Edmonton needs a child defenseman" way either. Very impressive preseason he's had. He honestly looks like one of those players where more junior hockey is a redundant thing, even if in theory it's what you should want to do with him. EDIT: He is going back to junior but it was a great camp. Seems a lock for the world junior team.

I watched the pilot of The Blacklist and the writing didn't impress me a ton. It was like "modern spy shit: the condensed movie" pretty much. The pen in the neck scene was particularly ridiculous.
