  1. Jordan Cameron - 12 Receptions for 170 yards, 0 touchdowns Gary Barnidge - 16 Receptions for 235 yards, 2 touchdowns ----- YOU'RE WELCOME, MIAMI FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. What in God's name website did I visit that triggered a cookie for "Bare Necessities" bra & panties ads on this message board?
  3. Has anyone from Lucasarts ever explained why they never had James Earl Jones voice Darth Vader in any of the games? Was it cheapness on Lucasfilm's part or did Mr. Jones simply not want to do video games after "Under A Killing Moon?" EDIT: I remember Entertainment Weekly, in doing an article on "Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb" actually called up Harrison Ford's agent and quoted him as saying that Ford was perfectly willing to do voice over work, but his asking price was $500,000, which Lucasarts wasn't willing to pay.
  4. I know the footage they showed was of "Polka Dusty" but please God let it be "Jim Crockett Promotions Dusty" instead.
  5. 2K will tell their legal department to make a deal with "the Briscoe brothers" and they will screw up and mistakenly sign Mark & Jay Briscoe, and it will end horribly with headlines on CNN and Fox News "WWE Video Game Features Openly Homophobic Redneck."
  6. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-league-stew/atlanta-radio-jock-launches-ugly-twitter-attack-on-espn-s-jessica-mendoza-072238057.html This is what the previous post is talking about.
  7. As much as I want Barry Windham and Tito Santana in the game, given 2K's track record with guys like "fat and drunk" Jake Roberts, "dragon costume" Ricky Steamboat, and "fat singlet" Honky Tonk Man and "Macho King" Randy Savage last year, if they ever actually put those guys in, it will be as The Widowmaker and El Matador. Not "The Widowmaker" Barry Windham, he'll strictly be The Widowmaker (that, or The Stalker or Blackjack WIndham) EDIT: Also, "Future Superstar" Samoa Joe. Will the Jack & Jerry Briscoe be in a "Young Up and Comers" DLC pack?
  8. Not sure where to post this. I guess I'll put it here to serve as a counterpoint for those of you wanting an X-Men/Fantastic Four xover movie.
  9. If they were going to have Peter David write a Spider-Man 2099 story, could they not have shelled out the money to get Rick Leonardi to do the art?
  10. Much like Marvel Comics itself: Ms. Marvel, Defender of Feminism Ms. Marvel, Brainwashed Rape Victim Binary Ms. Marvel, Long-term coma patient Ms. Marvel, Avenger who really doesn't focus on feminist issues anymore Captain Marvel
  11. *sigh* They really aren't going to put Saskia in this game and give you the chance to bed her, are they?
  12. Oh my God, you poor child. Here, sit down. *hands Stennick a TPB* Here, this is called Zot! by Scott McCloud. Read it right now. This will help stabilize you and show you that comics are a wonderful and diverse medium. *rummages through the DVDVR comics collection* Okay, I've got Camelot 3000, the omnibus editions of Love & Rockets, and Sandman: Seasons of Mists. Hang in there, buddy. We're gonna show you what comics really are. *looks around widly* Where the hell is Animal Man #26?!!? And the "Brotherhood of Dada" issues from Morrison's Doom Patrol run?
  13. "Sponsors" = Yakuza money marks. It also probably explains why they put the Triple Crown back on Akebono after he drew flies during his first title reign and couldn't work a 2*** match if his life depended on it. Akebono's Yakuza fanboys probably grabbed Akiyama by the hand and threatened to cut his fingers off if he didn't put the belt back on the Lard Warrior.
  14. According to PWInsider it's only Kelly and Striker, no Corino. Thank God on Corino not being a part of it. Never met the guy, can't attest to what his real life personality is, but the "gimmick" of King Corino has me reaching for the mute button on the rare occasions I watch ROH.
  15. I really wish the federal government would step in and pass legislation to ban certain types of advertising. Those "promoted stories" from Outbrain, escpecially have to go: "Her dress dropped jaws at the Met Gala" or "This popular sweater has a 4 month waiting list in Milwaukee" I honestly don't understand why there isn't more public backlash against ads like that.
  16. Actually, I wish someone would get a hold of the sales figures from 1992-1996 and give them to the Comics Beat guys to do a correlation and analysis. I'd love to see how legendarily "bad" stories like Cap-Wolf, Fighting Chance, the Avengers stories focusing on the Black Knight-Sersi-Crystal love triangle, the Fantastic Four stories from Tom DeFalco where Sue wore a stripper outfit, etc. sold in comparison to today's stories. I'd wager anything that Cap-Wolf sold in the six figures, and the Chichester Daredevil story where Matt faked his death and ran around in that awful Grey and Red costume probably sold ten times what Mark Waid's run did.
  17. Yes, the "Steve gets trapped in a parallel universe, grows a Grizzly Adams beard, raises a foster son who gets killed, sees Sharon Carter get stuffed in a fridge for cheap 'emotional drama,' and then becomes a supporting character in his own book as we focus on Arnim Zola's daughter" story arc that pretty much everyone hated and no one bought. You could have run a reprint of the awful 1950's "Cap fights Commies" stories in its place and it probably would have sold better than that piece of crap did.
  18. MAJOR thumbs down on not opening the show with an updated version of the "WWF on MSG" intro from 1983-85. Haven't been to a house show in 20 years, not a fan of the mini-Titan Tron, hope they eventually get rid of it and have guys go back to just wrestling under the house lights.
  19. Team-up movie. I'm sure Steve and Blake will be back in their proper costumes by the time Civil War and Ragnarok come out. 38,199, OUCH! Wonder, if not for Secret Wars, if they would have pulled the plug already on Falcon-Cap.
  20. Before I order a bunch of those Los Ingobernables shirts, are there any sizing differences between Mexican and American shirts, like when I would order puro shirts from George Mayfield and would have to order two sizes up?
  21. I'd like to imagine that while we're all ripping on Gen. Adnan being in the game, in some nursing home in St. Paul, MN a nurse just walked up to Adnan Al-Kaissie and is all "Great news, you're royalty check from 2K Sports just arrived. You get to stay here another year." And Adnan is all "Oh, thank the heavens. I do not want to die homeless on the streets."

  23. All snarking aside, I think it's more a case of Alonso telling Slott "As soon as the next movie comes out, the old status quo is coming back HARD. Daily Bugle, J. Jonah as publisher and Robby as editor, Peter living paycheck to paycheck. Until then, you can go hogwild, get it all out of your system. Just don't fuck things up too much." I just feel sorry for whoever has to succeed Slott as writer, becuase they're going to have to waste four or five issues doing a "Fall of Peter Parker" arc where Parker Industires goes bankrupt, Anna Maria Marconi gets written out, Peter has to make amends with all the long-time supporting cast he was a jerk towards (again). It IS nice to have someone other than Humberto Ramos as the primary artist, at least for a little while.
