  1. I guess I've not really thought about how she carries herself during matches, as I always think she comes off super authentic with her move execution. I don't need her posturing, just need her wrenching arms, throwing big body shots, and tooling girls on the mat. Here's a review we did of her Stardom match earlier this year against Io Shirai (match link included in review): http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/05/2017-ongoing-moty-list-baszler-v-shirai.html It's much more of a pro style match than I'd seen from her up to that point, and the first time I've seen her sell a bunch. I think she sells her back better in this match than nearly anybody I've seen. It's a tough thing to sell. I'd be shocked if you didn't like this match/her performance in it.
  2. We reviewed episode 2 at Segunda Caida. I really liked Xia Li, loved her look and style, hope she sticks around. Evers looked like she had no idea what moves she was actually doing, like she would pick up Belle and just kind of drop her. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/08/mae-young-classic-episode-2.html
  3. Can't believe people are dumping on Baszler in this thread or thinking she has less presence than some of the women in this tourney. I think she made a pretty damn natural transition into pro wrestling, and thought she was good before she even had 10 matches.
  4. Started watching Episode 6 and was REALLY impressed by Judas Icarus. Any more matches from him? Nice kicks, that killer sliding kneedrop, big bumps, and I automatically like guys who wrestle with no shoes.
  5. PSSSSH you kidding? I'm the biggest chubby chaser on the wrestling web. You point me to the good Damo, I'll do a fair write up.
  6. Well *I* went to the Sacramento NXT show the next night and wrote it up. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/08/nxt-sacramento-live-report-81217.html San Jose kinda looks like the better show on paper but I had a blast at this one. 2/2 on NXT live shows.
  7. Saw Night 2 was airing on AXS tonight, decided to live blog it the way I did Night 1: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/07/njpw-g1-special-in-usa-night-2-live-as.html
  8. I was out all day yesterday, but figured I would "live" blog this 24 hours later. Don't know the results or much of the card, but why not. Giants actually swept two series in a row somehow, so I'm in a good mood. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/07/njpw-g1-special-in-usa-night-1-next-day.html
  9. And see, I thought this had loads more psych and was clearly superior to the Kamaitachi/Lee match their aired a couple weeks back. I thought the structure was more defined and it built far better. Also, Phil and I added Shibata/Okada to our 2017 MOTY List. The best Shibata performance ever, and the best Okada performance I've seen.
  10. They couldn't find any of the authentic Native Americans from F-Troop
  11. Am I the only one who thinks it's kind of gross how JR clearly recorded commentary on a Shibata match to make him sound like a prophetic smarty pants? AXS showed the 3/19 Shibata/Ishii match and several times JR chastised Shibata for using headbutts and kept making notes that they may end up detrimental to his health. I'm sure he didn't record this before Shibata brained himself. It came off really gross and shitty to me.
  12. I really liked Nattie/Charlotte. Face Charlotte still seems weird (and the strut looked really awkward), but Nattie is such a natural heel, primarily because she's someone who clearly doesn't realize that she's a heel in real life. Things got a little sloppy right at the end (Nattie took an odd delayed bump, Charlotte hit overshot the moonsault and corrected after her feet hit, Nattie took the finish badly) but the first 8 minutes were really great. Nattie's heel power offense was really good, Charlotte had a killer sunset flip counter by lifting her leg out of it, trapping Nattie's wrist and dropping a knee on the back of her head. I really loved their 2014 NXT match, this was more gravy.
  13. Surprised more people aren't praising the Ultimate X match. I genuinely thought it was one of Low-Ki's career performances, no hyperbole. That guy took one of the dumber stips in wrestling and made it gold. Lee and Everett killed it as well, but it was hard for me to notice as I couldn't tear my eyes from whatever madness Ki was setting up at all times. It was an easy add to our 2017 MOTY List: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/05/2017-ongoing-moty-list-ultimate-x-still.html
  14. Considering Tim Livingston just brought me back a SMOP shirt from Japan...this match may need a tackling.
  15. The Young Bucks/Hardys match from a couple years ago is my favorite tag match of this decade. If you can hate the Bucks after watching it, more power to ya. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/05/2014-ongoing-match-of-year-list_18.html
  16. Who made their opponents stand still waiting to take moves longer, The Eliminators or Harlem Heat?
  17. Why did The Dupps work the entirety of 2000 in WWE, only doing house shows and dark matches? I can't think of other wrestlers - especially a tag team with a gimmick - used that much but never featured on TV (they did something similar with Scott Vick but he worked half as many shows as The Dupps).
  18. I skipped ahead 5 minutes at a time throughout the whole show, and literally every time I stopped it Josh Matthews and Borash were yelling at each other. Literally yelling. Who is that appealing to?? Who is this Jon Bolen though?? He looked great during his short match with Alberto. He had to have concussed himself taking the double stomp, but he took other rough bumps and had great snap on everything. Everybody recommend me high end the Jon Bolen stuff!!
  19. I mean, he makes it work for him. He's the best. But especially now that her character is pregnant on Girls, she has the same bosom, same tummy, same backside as 1993 Hash.
  20. I'm not sure what you would call this woman, but few lies compare to Psycho Cybil, 310 lbs. and beefed up with steroids, main eventing MSG in 1997: http://mtstandard.com/sports/wrestling-psycho-trains-in-billings/article_684b39b7-929a-5fa8-bba2-252688d713c0.html 2010 Update! http://helenair.com/lifestyles/community/healing-one-tattoo-at-a-time/article_b638c57c-281b-11df-b412-001cc4c03286.html Can't find the other article that talks about her one time 18.5 mil net worth.
  21. It bums me out when Makabe seemingly aims 4" over Ishii's head when throwing punches, while JR compares it to Dick Murdoch vs. Killer Karl Kox.
