  1. Yeah, I think they wanted to round out her character (like them keeping Bron and Melo for an extra year) versus Stratton who they probably feel like can work on the fly? I'm still freaked out by Stratton's veneers since they're so white. That's the real heel move to me. Liv looked great in the chamber and I remember her looking good with everything except her title reign which sucks. And ditto on whoever said Becky has seemed off lately, she has periods where her stuff looks mechanical and not smooth so I always wonder if it's based on opponent familiarity or something else. I'd like to think her and Rhea can figure it out by Mania though.
  2. Styles broke it out in the WWECW days with Kofi when he did his leg drop spot. "The Jamaican's getting high!"
  3. I feel like WWE tried this when they brought in Mike Bennett and Maria, but it didn't catch on and then Mike had his addiction issues and Maria had the 2 kids and they got released during the pandemic and here we are.
  4. Yeah, considering TNA made a post about extending Josh, that's what I gathered from it.
  5. It might have been a while, but Lashley used to break out the Dominator here and there as a secondary finisher/false finish move.
  6. Finished it yesterday. Yeah, that last Eikon seemed good in theory but I didn't like it, seemed like you had to use the abilities to load it but since normal attacks were so nerfed. I did finish all the trials, hunts and side quests too. Debating on doing a NG+ playthrough. I really liked the game and how everything played out. But goddamn was Annabelle an awful, awful person. Debating a FF10 run (doubt I'll have the time to max out everything like I did when I was in high school or finally playing the FF7 Remake.
  7. I think you'll get less big tentpole AAA games since the development cycle is so long and costly. Heck I just finished FF16 and the credits have been going and I've read the entire TNA, AEW, WWE and General Wrestling forums and this thread and it's still going. More mid or lower tier games will be the move I think. Something like Trek to Yumi, Midnight Fight Express. And more remakes of PS3/XBox 360 games maybe? I'm not opposed since I've been playing FF16 on and off for a month and that was a big time sink for me, enjoyable, but still a time sink.
  8. Maria helped a lot with the presentation of The Kingdom in ROH back in the day (god, that's like 10 years ago).
  9. Yeah, the Wii is the best console for rail shooters ever and I still fire up HotD: Overkill when I stop by my mom's house (Wii is hooked up to the basement TV).
  10. I do enjoy using Bahamut's charge since you can dodge to make it charge faster. I peeked ahead and see that you get another one that might be similar. I usually start out fights with Bahamut's charge so fireballs are raining down but sometimes I forget and start with other stuff. I did that dragon S level hunt probably 12 levels too low and it took me about 5 tries but I got it. I'd probably smoke that monster now though. Are the later hunts difficult or just tedious after all the other stuff? I say this as a person who didn't mess with a lot of the end game stuff in FF8 because I just wanted to be done.
  11. I'm starting to think Darby climbing Everest is going to be like Mox taking that fishing trip. LBVS
  12. Gordi, if AEW didn't have a US TV deal, would they still be in existence? That's pretty much going to determine their primary audience.
  13. Technically they do she she does makeup for AEW still. IMO, Britt is a good character, ok wrestler which can work week to week but you gotta nail the big matches. They have a really good division but I'm not sure how it plays out with giving out time to the roster.
  14. I've said it before in the TNA forum but I liked D'Amore's "overworked store GM" take on the authority figure. But he for sure learned at the foot of WWE style presentation and it's reflected in his stuff with the occasional out there parts (killing off characters that have expired contracts, the entire Undead Realm thing are 2 big ones) to not make it exactly like WWE week to week. I'm aware that there is a good chunk of folks on the board who don't like that style of presentation. There's some rumblings that the termination was maybe related to the investigation in 2020/21 regarding harassment when Callis as in charge and D'Amore was #2 that might not have been a through investigation but it seems odd to do something about it now. But strange times in the wide world of wrestling with these shake ups of higher ups.
  15. I'm at Kanver in FF16 and once you get 3 Ikons to shuffle through in the game, the combat really opens up. Also seems like the storyline at this point falls into your standard FF story so it's not a total GoT rip off.
  16. Eh. I never felt like Acorns was scammy, but folks never read the fine print on when they would pull the money out of your account. It's just investing in mutual funds based on risk tolerance. With the amounts you won't get rich (spoiler alert, most people never do with the market) but it's a larger gain than leaving it in your checking account.
  17. I didn't either but at the same time I'm not shocked? I mean he delivered years of awful promos with the most sincerity for years so once he got some decent writing it makes sense he would look better?
  18. That would have put Solo at what, 19 or 20? So a sophomore/junior in college? I hated college math too man.
  19. I too have a stack of AAA games unplayed as I'm currently going through FF16 (borrowed a copy from a friend who got the collector's edition). I find it easier to play the indie or semi indie games which are shorter and less of a time commitment. But my current unplayed physical copy list is: Ghosts of Tsushima Nier Automata FF7 Remake Miles Morales Sekrio Borderlands 3 These were all purchased on sale because how can I pass up a deal on a physical copy. Not to mention the digital stuff I have (hello both Horizon games). But did I knock out Trek to Yomi? Yup (only 8 hours of play time)! How about Midnight Fight Express? Yup! TMNT Shredder's Revenge? Yup! FF8 remaster? My traditional birthday week off in 2022! Raji? Had some virus thing that knocked me out for the weekend! Star Wars Republic Commando? Easy peasy! Will I fire up Streets of Rage 4 and play survival mode for an hour or so? Of course. Tetris Effect? You know it. Sink 100+ hours into WWE2K23? Light work. I just want something that won't be a big time sink most of the time and my most played games reflect that. I do occasionally enjoy the big time sink game (hell I had 200+ hours on Witcher 3 in 2020) but not all the time and I'm a single guy with no kids!
  20. I'm in 100% agreement that unless Rock magically gets the stamina and durability he had in his prime, he is in no shape to work a main event Mania match. Maybe a hardcore match with a bunch of resting spots but that's not fun. I'd say stash it on a Saudi show that none of us really care about. The only big matches left for Roman are Punk, Lashley, Seth, Orton and Gunther. Maybe Styles with the OC as backup but we should be there and they're not getting involved. We're getting an Orton match at some point. So there's stuff for Roman to do in the meantime. A Cody/Punk double elim could be on the table! I can hear the collective groan from the couch. And yeah Becky/Rhea is the Big Joker they're holding. They need to get to Nia/Becky finished up which will lead to Becky/Rhea. Maybe Nia eliminates Becky and Becky gets revenge? But I know I'm going to fry some wings for this Saturday.
  21. Oh yeah different strokes for different folks. You for sure could swap out some main roster folks for NXT folks or give them time off. R-Truth was actually in NXT when he got hurt in a match with Waller, and Waller did a great job covering for it on a live show in a tiny studio. I wasn't the biggest fan of the end of B&G NXT, it seemed stuck in place with the UE guys not moving up and no one else on the card getting swapped in. I don't know if the big reset of 2.0 was the right move, but something needed to be done. On the Okada thing, that's still a smark heavy crowd with a lot of the same people showing up week to week, doesn't seem like a good way to have your roster work since you don't really know if stuff is actually working or not. But if Okada showed up yeah they'd go bonkers. And Okada/Briggs could be a fun 8 minute match.
  22. Haven't watched this week's episode but the reasons you dislike the show are the exact reasons I love the show. The wackiness of these matchups is intriguing to me along with the really bad sketches. Work out the kinks before getting called up. And there's a bit of a log jam at the main roster so there are a bunch of folks that are stuck in NXT for now which is even more glaring with the UK folks that have been there for the last year and half or so now. And I believe Booker T on commentary is the WCW B/C show Dusty Rhodes of our time.
  23. This is how I know I go to a "serious man's gym" I haven't seen any kids trying to lift with Crocs on. That's insane to me. Tony Atlas' photographer? Also, I am disappointed they didn't have Juice's pic on a cardboard box for the obvious Juice Box joke.
  24. There's an uptick in ACL tears for women across all sports at all levels. I'd assume the solution would require a lot of shared data.
  25. I always assumed it's to cut down on glare on the monitors from the ring lights. I don't think when the commentary table is near the entrance they have the shield up.
