  1. A friend was reading the board over my shoulder one time and safe to say I think we've got enough of our own vernacular already. On the other hand, he'll never know what a Hollywood Cibernetico is so maybe he comes out on top.
  2. Yeah, this is the unfortunate side effect of Cena spamming his big moves the past couple of years. Now when he just uses one it makes his opponent look weak. It's especially frustrating for a big guy like Corbin who looks like he's getting a bit of a push. It felt almost as much like them putting someone in their place as the last AJ/Ellsworth "match".

So for those of us with a less than encyclopedic knowledge of UK indies, who are the guys to watch out for in this tournament? The only guys I really know are Mark Andrews and Pete Dunne. The CWC was a great way for me to discover a few guys I hadn't seen but were awesome, I'm hoping this event does the same.
  4. If that ever happened I imagine an authority figure would come out with a 31st entrant for a sudden death scenario. You could do it without the crowd turning too. Have Miz win and start cutting a promo, Bryan comes out and intros Joe or Nakamura or whoever, and a quick final match starts.
  5. Kenny also pals around with the Young Bucks, the Kings of Fucking With People On Twitter. I'm not saying it doesn't mean anything, but I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't mean anything.
  6. That would've happened regardless of who was booking.
  7. I've been struggling to find a polite way to say this but I can't: I fucking hate Teddy Hart.
  8. The fanboy in me wants Jericho to win but I think if they were going that direction I think they would've gone through with the split and face turn. I have a sneaking suspicion it'll go to Rollins since he has enough history with KO to give the Universal Title match a more "EPIC" feel, plus he doesn't seem to have anything else going on. Maybe it's a better idea to figure out who could win the Rumble and not have the crowd shit on it, then backwards engineer a good Wrestlemania storyline. They need a real winner this year.
  9. I think it's too early for Corbin but put him in the Final Four this year and don't fuck up for 12 months (I know, I know) and he could easily win next year. Although he always felt like a Summerslam kind of guy to me...
  10. The Briscoes had a streak of winning two straight falls in 2/3 falls matches for a while in 2007 or so. In fact, they're the only ones I can think of who have done it.
  11. I felt the American Alpha title win a little anti-climatic. I'm a fan, but they only get to win the titles for the first time on the main stage once and a disposable four-way wouldn't be my first choice. Good showing though. I just think it could've been way more.
  12. At least the physics of it make sense. For Dragon Gate that's a big step up.
  13. So who had the best reinvention this year: Chris Jericho, Matt Hardy, or the Miz? Hardy is the obvious choice, but both Miz and Jericho went from guys I couldn't stand to my favourite parts of their respective shows. Anybody else in contention?
  14. I dunno. I think Braun's ceiling is New Kane. Don't get me wrong, that's a tremendous career to have, but I don't think he's ever going to be a real attraction.
  15. As a man who knows what Banshee is about and has seen what Lana looks like, this new information intrigues me.
  16. This is the wrestling equivalent of Fuck, Marry, Kill. And whoever was playing had terrible taste.
  17. Flair's most recent pod with the Nasty Boys reached new levels of unlistenable. The only thing worse than Ric and one of his old drinking buddies talking over each other is Ric and TWO of his old drinking buddies talking over each other. I don't turn off podcasts all that often but I couldn't make it more than 20 minutes into this one (including skipping half of that which was ads).
  18. The first time I saw Lita she jumped off the apron trying to rana Eddie Guerrero and he powerbombed her on the floor so hard I thought he was legit trying to hurt her. If nothing else, the lady has guts for taking that and not quitting. Update:
  19. I think he actually toned it down after the shoulder injury. That one handed press is still mental though.
  20. I was even watching at that point and I completely forgot. Must have been a spectacular reign. To stay on topic, I felt like the women's matches were hindered rather than helped by the gimmicks. I'd rather see those four ladies carry a match with character work than try to shoehorn some weapon spots.
  21. Axel was IC champ?! You've come a long way, baby.
  22. He's not getting any older either. Pretty sure Atlantis is a Highlander.
