  1. I believe this is the only UFC card that I didn't have to list cancelled bouts for. Praise MMA baby Jesus.

  3. If you like Manhunter that much, that means you love Red Dragon by proxy. I can't support someone who openly loves Brett Ratner's work. Thus, your opinion on To Live and Die in LA is invalid.
  4. He managed to talk himself out of a Reebok deal when he had a national spot with Demarcus Ware on television. Most of this is just Rampage being fickle. The thing with this is Bjorn and other high level execs probably did promise him PPVs and movies along with the TNA gig. Realistically, he should have known ain't fucking NO ONE at Paramount Pictures looking to cast him in anything. Not Transformers. Not Hercules. Not Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Nothing. Nada. Joe Carnahan probably would work with him again but he works for NBC now doing shitty shows with Katherine Heigl. Quinton doesn't have a level of professionalism commonly associated with non-actors trying to get film and TV work. In addition, TNA could not do anything with wrestlers they had. What were they going to do with Rampage? Having a ton of miles on your body already and never having an affinity to deal with a lifestyle radically different from legit sports was a death blow to whatever the hell Dixie Carter wanting him to do. This is something I tried to get across to rimz when Mo was on the shelf (IIRC when he was under suspension) and getting ready to go to Louisville. Long story short, Rimz knew what was up and Mo didn't. Sometimes, fighters have no grip with reality. With Rampage, he probably never had it in the first place.
  5. Oh, I agree. I am just saying it's better for the deal to come through than the PR thing since that boat has already sailed.
  6. They had that Under Armour deal done, were ready to announce it, and then it went poof. Shit happens.
  7. Brett Okamoto ‏@bokamotoESPN 35s Jon Jones told me plan is beat DC, win Gus rematch, move to heavy. Believes he'll be best ever with that. Cain would be "fight of my life."
  8. The beard makes Weidman look like Cain's brother and his head look massive. Bloody Elbow ‏@BloodyElbow 9m Matt Brown vs. Tarec Saffiedine headlines UFC Fight Night in Colorado http://sbnation.com/e/7001372
  9. David Tua is retired IIRC and Chris Byrd is doing commentary for international TV broadcasts But boxing needs THE MOTHERFUCKING PRESIDENT
  10. People manage to write Mayweather vs. Pacquiao stories every week and that fight has been off the table since January 2010. Welcome to my world.
  11. I am surprised Dana didn't throw someone under the bus. That could've easily turned into "this fucking French Canadian guy wants more money. Who the fuck does he think he is? Our biggest draw in Canada?!?!"
  12. MMAWeekly.com ‏@MMAWeeklycom 1m MANDATORY @DCBROCKLESNAR REFRAIN: He’s under @WWE contract, healthy, wants to fight, we’ll see what happens” — @danawhite
  13. "Who give a shit about Nik Lentz?"
  14. No "Fifty Shades of Sasha Grey" porn spoof joke yet? I am disappointed. But yeah, I would watch that over the actual movie and/or Sasha Grey trying to act in an actual movie.
  15. Looks like another (US) TUF rehash is in the works.
  16. Jeremy Botter ‏@jeremybotter 3m Ronda also says she’ll have a lot of important decisions to make after Feb. 28
  17. Ariel Helwani ‏@arielhelwani 47s White says Werdum vs. Velasquez will be in Mexico. Date TBD.
  18. Bert Cooper was around as of two years ago. Might as well make a comeback.
  19. While this probably will be lost when the UFC has their presser later today, I think this does fit into the discussion we had about gym regulation and overall culture: http://www.mixedmartialarts.com/thread/2385281/Thug-Rose-Putting-roufus-sport-on-blast/?&page=1 Red Schafer's comments are on page six, FWIW. It's in reference to the fallout of Dennis Munson's Jr., a member of the now disbanded Roufusport kickboxing team, who died following fighting at an unregulated Duke Roufus promoted event in March. http://m.jsonline.com/watchdog/watchdogreports/Milwaukee-kickboxer-Dennis-Munson-Jr-dies-following-cascade-of-errors-by-fight-officials-b99356847z1-280084622.html Not looking good for Duke Roufus and Scott Cushman right now. This makes the complaints made by the girls from Team Pettis early in the season look pretty convincing in hindsight.
  20. I don't think Bellator has a shot at signing him though. Bellator's best bet is competing for prospects, but even then it's kinda difficult if they're trimming their roster. You can't eliminate some of the awful fighters that have populated these tournaments, but start replacing them with everyone you want to start building up. Not only would the roster be the same size, but then you owe the job guys more fights as well. Thus, you somehow end up with a bigger roster as a promotion that only plans to run once a month and still uses regional fighters to sell tickets. You don't need Nam Phan around for multiple fights just because you wanted Mike Richman to torch him for one night.
  21. Honestly, Cosby's best bet is to just retire from the public eye for the rest of his life. I like how the new Black Dynamite episode from last night was produced several months ago and still got in some stuff about Cosby being a serial rapist. "You mean jello-loving, date raping Bill Cosby?"
  22. Does Tom Coughlin know you're allowed to kick field goals down six with five minutes, a timeout, and the two-minute warning left?
  23. Brock was still under contract when he retired. He still owed them a fight also. I don't think he is now because of the whole WWE thing. But as someone pointed out on Twitter last night (John Nash maybe), Zuffa conceivably could take him to court on the whole thing. If this turns into a legal war, I doubt Brock would want to come back to MMA. He can just chill at home with his family in Canada and spend that WWE money.
