  1. I have fond memories of his comedy stuff he did in his later years. Really fun prelim vet. Heaven needed some kancho.
  2. Good Lord, I can't imagine being a decent small bantamweight or big strawweight watching this. Those fighters must be licking their chops watching this and requesting to move down or up.
  3. This is an episode of WWF Superstars or World Championship Wrestling. Total squash matches ffs. That takedown and submission combination was so fucking slick. Can't wait to see Johns against some top guys. EDIT: "VITAMIN D!" Hahahahaha. Addendum to the above: This is a squash show where one of the job guys went into business for himself. If that's not Ryan Janes last win in the UFC, I'll be damned.
  4. Unreal. Johns is special. Was that AJ's calf slicer or an Indian deathlock?! He went for that straight up with the take down and everything!
  5. You may be right. The final of three punches kind of grazed Beck's chin and looked to follow through to her throat. I thought it was just Beck wilting and quitting due to the strikes. This card has been... Something so far. Sanchez's gas tank, man... He emptied that shit out and then went for more with his attempted finishes. Ryan Janes is like a beanpole, he's so god damn straight in the air and yet he beat a somewhat, kind of interesting prospect. Compare this card to the TUF Finale in December '15. Edgar/Mendes, Barboza/Ferguson, Dunham/Lauzon, Kawajiri... Edit: at least we get to see Brett Johns.
  6. I did not watch a second of the Ultimate Fighter season but just going on the first two flyweight fights tonight... Holy shit, these fighters shouldn't be in the UFC.
  7. Carl's made a commentary mod and people are ripping commentary from other games. I guess you could add noises in place of commentary for moves. Had a super fun Elite vs. New Day six man elimination tag last night. This game is so fucking great.
  8. I'm guessing they understand that too and want to make the most of it by taking crazy, unnecessary bumps. I'm not arguing it's a good idea, just guessing that's their rationale.
  9. Maybe not as often as he could or should, but he sure did today listing off five or so luchadores that he thinks should be in. They spent a good five or so minutes talking about just that on today's WOR.
  10. Did Dan Ginnetty keep doing those yearly TV sets? I bought a lot of the All Japan and a few New Japan sets from him but I was really hoping for him to do a complete mid-to-late '90s New Japan run because I'd love to see the wacky time period when business and crowds were so incredibly hot despite not having the best in-ring talent (not that they were hurting for talent, just relative to All Japan). With Google Drive these days, it'd be amazing to have a NJPW equivalent of the AJPW archive. They produced so much footage once Samurai TV came around, because they were already churning out a great deal of commercial tapes on top of their Asahi TV.
  11. You should read Gary Hart's book. Lewin has lived an interesting life to say the least and is like the Gary Oldman of pro-wrestling. Would change his look and persona completely over the years.
  12. Oh, I remember. I also remember the 20 minute promos after the match... And it was far more entertaining than a 20 minute Raw promo I understand.
  13. I wasn't thinking of here really but rather the people on social media getting outraged.
  14. That you shouldn't be shocked when athletes say dumb shit. I understand why people get upset but I do feel like we are in the territory of people looking to get outraged. The way I see it, the majority of athletes (at least in North America) are conservative because they believe their hard work and determination are the major reasons for their success and if others only had the same drive that they wouldn't be poor. It doesn't take into account the incredible amount of varieties of luck needed to make it as a pro athlete. This often times bleeds over into social aspects too. And clubhouses and the like are just awful places in terms of social aspects of humanity. There are horror stories of junior hockey dressing rooms and hazing initiatives/rituals in Canada. Why do we care what Bret Boone or any other pro athlete has to say because he or she can hit a ball really hard or hit somebody upside the head real good?
  15. Again, why do we care what dumbass athletes say more than anybody else? Stop putting people like that on a pedestal. They are not role models. It's like people being taken aback by Madusa, a professional wrestler/monster truck driver, making ignorant ass comments. I don't get it.
  16. I thought about it when my sub expired in October... I think the rare time I play online is what keeps me coming back. But I'm not really much of an online gamer and I play a lot more of those types on PC than PS4, so I don't know why I bother.
  17. I guess we were all very naughty boys and girls to receive figurative coal for Christmas.
  18. I initially was trying to make complete rosters for current and past promotions but a lot of the edits had issues that irked me. So, I did a clean install (the unsubscribe method still sucks a big one btw) and just focused on my fictional promotion my friends and I created back on FPD. I think I'm finally ready to fuck around with rosters, especially with Carl's mix and match mod. Creators who often have the best logic and most accurate moves don't tend to have the best looking appearances and vice versa. The mod makes that easy to fix. I know it's a lot of work to go back and add a lot of priorities but it seems like the majority haven't done that with their edits yet. Howdy's 91-95 WWF edits seem like the best of both worlds though. A lot of fun can be had with those.
  19. Not that HNIC. Hockey Night in Canada.
