We hosted the 2007 U-20 World Cup which featured a host of world class talent. About as close to seeing a World Cup game in Vancouver as I'll get in my lifetime.

Good deal and he should do wonders with the Sedins. I think this means bye bye Burrows, as it's silly to pay a third liner that kind of cash (don't tell MacT though). (I know it's only) Botchford suggested that the Sedins could jet to Modo if they have another off year. Interesting, but I think Vrbata will help a lot. 9th place here we come!

Andy Hunter says Barcelona have offered £70m for Luis. That's a better starting point. Sanchez will probably fuck off to Arsenal or, likelier, Juventus.

Garth Snow had a great year the season before last, was awful last season, and between the draft, getting Halak at a decent rate, and today's moves it seems there is a pattern developing. Kulemin's price is excessive but whatevs. It's the Islanders, they're always closer to the floor than the ceiling. Rick Jeanneret has throat cancer and has a 85% chance of recovery. Here's hoping.

Willie still has something to give and is great in his own end. Jovonovski has been done for years. Although on the surface I see where you're coming from, but the levels of Mitchell and Jovo are miles apart. Edit; Brian Boyle to Tampa for 3 years at $2.3 million per. Really like it.

Yeah, but I think they want to take a step back and bring in some of their young guys. Be interested to see what either/both Marleau and Jumbo Joe get in trades after the recent big centre trades the past week. So, worst contract so far? Engelland, Bolland, Orpik are certainly up there.

Are the Jets going to move Burmistrov's rights? If so, why the hell would they do that? How will I be finding a new team? Watching lots of NHL center ice. Also Nashville is just as close to me as Raleigh is. How in the world is Don Waddell employed by a team in the NHL after ruining a franchise damn near single-handedly? I wouldn't jump on the Pred bandwagon, though. More of the same.

I doubt he has much value at all after wilting following the Luongo trade. We may be lucky to get a 3rd rounder for him because Niemi will be the goalie teams missing out on Miller/Hiller/other garbage go for. Iginla to Colorado makes so much sense for both parties. Great pick by Jarome. This also means there is no way in hell Vancouver gets into the playoffs this year. All the playoff teams have gotten better one way or another or their pimp hands remain way strong (CHI/LAK).

McKenzie is a 4th line centre who should do the job for you. Brooks Orpik's contract is the worst of the day (so far). Worse than Bolland, but it's close. I like Robidas but he's 37 and injury plagued, so if he retires after this year the Leafs are paying him for two more. Vanek's contract is not that bad. Oh, and this: After thinking about it, it would be wiser to re-sign Markstrom and move Lack. Eddie is 26, he's too old for this shit. Edit: Havlat to Jersey for 1 year/$1.5m says a lot but I hope he can get his career back on track. Liked that guy a lot in Ottawa. Buffalo getting to the cap floor makes me think finishing 30th or near the bottom is do able.

Good for the Blues. Should be a fun battle with Chicago for the division. Like the Cammy signing for the Devils, they really need goals and that's what he brings. Jussi for the Panthers is good for both parties. Hope they can avoid the Bellend contract, now. Man, look at the western conference teams and their strength down the middle. EEEWWW! Tallon did it! He signed Bolland for 5 years at $5.5 million. I'm so sorry mco.
