  1. That's incredible.

Also, Fightful on the Kingston/Sammy drama:

    Sammy Guevara-Eddie Kingston update
The Sammy Guevara-Eddie Kingston saga appears to have ended, at least behind the scenes.

Fightful has learned that Eddie Kingston and Sammy Guevara squashed their issues backstage at today's All Elite Wrestling Dynamite show. We haven't learned of the context of what was said, but we're told they had a conversation, shook hands and decided to move on from the issues that led to Eddie Kingston getting suspended for two weeks.

Kingston and Sammy were slated to compete at AEW All Out against one another, but it was scrapped after Kingston was suspended. During a promo to build to the match, Guevara called Kingston a "fat piece of shit," which Kingston felt undermined the All Out match, that he was set to win. We're told Guevara had voiced his displeasure backstage, and things didn't look like they'd really be rectified until the story emerged, and things actually cooled down after that.

One source stated to Fightful that Eddie Kingston accepted full responsibility for his actions backstage. Another said that they believe both Kingston and Guevara are smart enough to make money off of the situation and work with one another, and didn't feel as if things ever got so bad that they wouldn't.

We were told Guevara was planned for the PPV weekend in some capacity, but haven't learned what that entails. Kingston will face Tomohiro Ishii in a rematch from NJPW on the AEW All Out Zero Hour pre-show.

We've reached out to Sammy Guevara and Eddie Kingston about the story.

  2. Fightful reporting they're hearing Full Gear will be in Newark, NJ and when they've run there in the past, both times were at the Prudential Center so it would make sense to do it up there again. This isn't official or confirmed btw.

Why does AEW hate the west coast so much, particularly the PNW? They have Danielson, you could run Key Arena np with him in a featured match.

A pretty good summation of how bat-shit the last couple months of Cody Rhodes and Brandi's runs in AEW were before they left.

I could've excused Cody's garbage had he actually turned heel.

The Brandi and Dan Lambert stuff is still, I dunno WTF was going on there. I'm guessing the end goal was to have Brandi wrestle Paige VanZant?

The ladder promo is one of the greatest moments in this sport's history. Wildest. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

When they say "Honeymoon is over", this is what they mean. Now the real work begins, TK! Show us, what you are made of! Also, now is not the time to get all defensive and snappy on Twitter.

No way. I loved the Klingon tweet after Smackdown.

  5. I think that's fair. I love a tournament, particularly round robin/league formats, but yeah it's a bit much especially when there should be heavy focus on big picture character development and long-term programs. Nice thing with this tournament is that they're building up multiple programs that will go beyond the tournament, including Omega vs. Ospreay and Hangman vs. Elite.

  6. How has the trios tournament sucked the fun out of tv lately? We just had a worldy of a spotfest last week and this week we're getting Omega vs. Ospreay in a tag. There haven't been a tonne of angles for it, so it's not overstaying its welcome that way either.

  7. I'm surprised Shida didn't turn heel after carrying the division through the no audience era only to be discarded for Britt when the fans were back. Seems like a built in turn and would allow her to be more aggressive, less cutesy in the ring which would only help her. I'll check out the Hoshi match when I get a chance over the next few days.

  8. The producer at Gamescom said the new moves were handcrafted, not mocapped.

If they're serious about not doing annual entries (if it even sells well enough) and instead relying on dlc, I would really hope they include features in dlc packs and it's not just content they cut from the fucking base game 6+ months prior to release.

  9. Soooo... I was thinking about this while I was in my crawlspace surrounded by spiders and dust, AEW has a roster big enough for... a brand split. I know they wouldn't and shouldn't for many very sound, good reasons, but it would be a way of solving quite a few of their problems especially if the backstage politics bullshit between some of the major players seems like it can't be resolved. Mainly, it would help elevate guys like Andrade and that pocket of the AEW universe into a more prominent role. Would, ideally, also help feature more women on TV than currently happens. Hypothetically, if they could upgrade Rampage to a 2hr, better timeslot, would that be unanimously a bad move? I feel like you'd need to rename Rampage at that point because it's basically WWF Heat as is and would not be worth the effort to rehab its value.

Easier answer is just to extend Rampage to two hours and in a better slot and book it in a fashion similar to Dynamite. You'd need to go live too to avoid crowd burnout, not that it really impacts ratings as much as many myself including think (at least that's what Meltzer always said when I still listened a couple years ago).

  10. Speaking of the game, FTR are not in the game as of right now

Top act removed from AEW video game
Forever The Removed.....from the AEW game.

Well, maybe not forever. However, Fightful Select was able to confirm that Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler are not slated to be a part of the first version of the AEW Fight Forever game as of this moment.

Sources connected to the game  that we heard from wouldn't confirm how far into the game FTR were still included, but Fightful first gained word earlier this summer. It was stated that they at least made it to the "model phase" of the game, however. We're told that FTR were informed of the call, and weren't too happy about it, as being involved in video games usually also comes with a significant bonus. We're told that they were originally set to be included in the game, but by Spring of 2022, had been removed.

Fightful spoke to Kenny Omega about the game in June, who noted they were hoping to release the game in 2022.

Missed the part where it said it wasn't their decision and they were pissed.

  11. Don't think anybody has ever criticized the consistency of the in-ring quality. Most of us who are critical consistently point to it as a reason to stick around. No matter the bad decisions Khan makes, he is still letting some of the best wrestlers on the planet do their thing in an environment conducive to great wrestling.
