  1. I watched it with English commentary. And enjoyed said commentary. It was leagues above TNA's this week. Although...
  2. Yeah, heel Eddie is great Eddie, although I like the face Eddie, too. I just like Eddie. He needs new gear, though.
  3. He's working Zack Sabre Jr so I imagine they can work a different type of match and still keep the fans happy. I'm not going either because it's not a great card for the money. That and I'm seeing Pentagon Jr, Drago, Kenny Omega & Hikaru Shida in Swindon - SWINDON! - the week after.
  4. Ospreay is my absolute favourite to watch. He has it down. I also really like Mastiff, and Scurll, and Grado. My top pick of the lesser known guys is Eddie Dennis, Mark Andrews's tag-team partner in FSU. Further down, just off the radar, there's Ryan Smile, Blackbelt Dawkins, Sha Samuels, Paul Robinson, and there's a ton of young guys coming through, especially from the PROGRESS training school.
  5. As answered by RevRay on Twitter, it was indeed "Who Am I? I Am Cody!" And thanks to Cody Rhodes, that guy is ungoogleable
  6. Hopefully there's still someone around who used to follow the sleaze promotions in the late 90s/early 00s... There was a gaijin - the only one, so he stood out - who used to work some shows, and he was so unremarkable he was remarkable. I always pretended to myself he was probably teaching English or something? Any ideas?
  7. It depends on your tastes. If you liked old ECW, then ICW. If you like New Japan/Ring of Honor, then Rev-Pro. If you like PWG, then PROGRESS. What if you only like 1970s Portland, Toots Mondt-era WWWF, and GLOW? Erm.... my catch-all answer is Lucha Britannia.
  8. It depends on your tastes. If you liked old ECW, then ICW. If you like New Japan/Ring of Honor, then Rev-Pro. If you like PWG, then PROGRESS. They're the "big 3" but there's a ton of other stuff out there worth watching. Cheap plug: I write a weekly "5 Things You Need To Know About British Wrestling" over at the Observer site...
  9. When a team goes behind at football (not soccer) the fans often sing louder to rouse them to victory.
  10. Back home from the show. It was a very good show. They taped two TV matches before, and one after, and I have never, ever seen a reaction like the one Jordan & Gable got. If it comes across half as good on TV as it did live it will be stunning. Asuka vs Emma was great. Dug the multiple butt butts. Tag titles was a really fun match, and Dash & Dawson are such tidy workers, keeping everything ticking along. Enzo's outfit was, well, yeah. If he wasn't I pro-wrestler I don't know what he'd be, other than maybe a punk from central casting. Corbin vs Crews lulled a bit and the crowd quietened down. Corbin got a lot of sweary chants aimed at him, which I don't know if they made TV. I thought he was good, though. Crews is, well, not connecting? Bayley vs Nia Jax was a weird match, and not necessarily in a bad way. The ending was reminiscent of early UFCs, in that it came across as Jax not particularly being in trouble but not being able to find a way out of Bayley's submission so she may as well tap. The crowd were super hot for this. The main was fine live but I'm not overly convinced by Balor as a top guy, and Joe was carrying him at times it seemed. I really liked the finish, though. Not sure I like being in 11,000 crowds much but I had fun.
  11. Yeah, good night to announce Coca-Cola as a sponsor...
  12. More Danshoku Dino, for those unaware of his work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9INY5pZvZk&feature=youtu.be
  13. They showed it on Highly Questionable on ESPN yesterday and everyone was laughing their asses off. High point for Joey Ryan. Low point probably for the other guy. I see Joey Ryan and think TNA had this guy and they had no idea what to do with him just like so many others they had. You don't know much about Danshoku Dino, do you?
  14. Fans getting themselves over is a bugbear of mine, too, and I have a very finely-tuned sensor for it. On the whole, Full Sail is fine. They vastly add rather than subtract.
  15. Even funnier, considering it's wholesome Bayley, is that it's adapted from 2 Live Crew's "heyyy, we want some pussaaaay!"
  16. Yeah, so Reid's mum wasn't exactly thrilled... User Actions Follow Elizabeth Fliehr‏@EFliehr @WWE @StephMcMahon @VinceMcMahon @TripleH WWEWriters really, that lazy! #CheapHeat #disgusting #disrespectful #cruel #sad #RawGreenville
  17. I love the little things. Like Dawson throwing his towel to the ground on the entrance ramp and Dash stomping on it. HEELS!
  18. We got Sally, too. And Donahue.
  19. Because Muta doesn't keep the mist in his penis?
  20. Like this one better It looks like she punched herself in the face to avoid having Asuka do it
