  1. If you don't get Shibata that's your problem. Tanahashi's best days are behind him. It's unrealistic to expect 2017 Tanahashi, but to be fair no one's told Tanahashi that so he's still trying. Watch any match from his 700 day title reign to get Okada. The Bryan injury came just when Okada's matches kick into the next level Naito clearly wasn't trying tonight, and I'm pretty sure he's been hurt so his best days are probably behind him too. SANADA's cool, but probably shouldn't be world champ If you want 2017 NJPW just watch 2017 NJPW.
  2. Ref ejects second and sends them to the back means, from a storytelling perspective, that they are no longer part of the story of the match. If they get reintroduced there has to be a twist or something.
  3. I'm not opposed to the Danielson convulsions spot, but the way it was used deflated the crowd just they were getting up after The Rainmaker pose, which is the universal sign of an Okada match kicking into second gear. If it was to cover the doctor checking out his arm, then it is what it is. Okada vs Danielson wasn't all I was expecting it to be, especially after Omega v Ospreay (Tiger Mother Fucking Driver 91) but dude broke his fucking arm and I can't possibly complain about Dragon tapping out Okada. Four way was the shit. I'm fine with SANADA v Jack ending the way it did to facilitate the heel turn. Elite vs BCC was fun as fuck. They have something with Willow and she should win the lady Owen. Fuck Punk.
  4. We need a Round Robin with OC, Danielson, Sabre, and Shibata to unify the International Pure Television title
  5. I say this as a Bucks fan, but the Indytaker is better than the Meltzer Driver because they can’t time the flip right and Buck 1 drops dude before Buck 2 hits the spike.
  6. Count me in as a guy who doesn’t “get” Adam Cole, but he seems like such a nice guy that reading all these admittedly legitimate criticisms has paradoxically made me really root for the fucker. So I guess I like Adam Cole now. Fuck you.
  7. Jade issuing an open challenge only to be squashed by a returning Statlander is exactly how her title reign should’ve ended. Especially when you consider how historically bad they’ve been at building to Jade matches.
  8. If they're insistent on bringing Punk back they might as well run Punk vs. Goldberg at Wembley. Why the fuck not?
  9. Tony gonna fuck around and lose Punk, Kenny, and the Bucks
  10. I was wondering when Punk and Colt were gonna get canceled for that shoot. For the record I don’t want Punk to get injured, I’m just acknowledging that it would be really funny if he did.
  11. If this is a shoot it's fucking stupid and if it's a work it's even fucking stupider. I'd love it if this was the end of Punk in AEW. He's already proven to be more trouble than he's worth and he's received more chances than he deserves. But Punk's got Tony by the balls and Ace Steel will end up an EVP by next Wednesday. Tony restructuring the entire roster around Punk only for Punk to blow it up last minute is hilarious, but the funniest outcome is still Punk coming back despite this and getting immediately injured again, so that's what I'm expecting.
  12. Didn’t Bix make that TNA video where he edited in a laugh track to all the backstage segments or am I confusing him with someone else who used to post here?
  13. God damn I hope Punk’s not coming back. This is hilarious and completely expected.
  14. The Outcasts have gotten a lot better since adding Ruby, getting a name/matching gear, but… where’s this going? I’m sure the eventual war games match or big brawl or whatever will be good but it all seems like a distraction from Hayter being an asskicking champion. The Dark Order is the Brodie Lee memorial act, held in stasis until Negative One turns 18. They didn’t even feud with JAS when Anna left or with Rush when Ten turned. If I’m fantasy booking, some malevolent force (House of Black?) returns Uno and Stu to their cult roots and they turn heel and feud with Silver/Reynolds
  15. That hits the nail on the head. If Meltzer’s Bob Woodward, Dean’s Hunter S Thompson. Meltzer’s not Woodward, but that’s besides the point. RIP DEAN. I loved the Smackdown comics back in the day and I’m forgoing paragraph breaks in his honor.
  16. Punk's back. I doubt Omega and the Bucks stick around and apparently Hangman's contract's up too.
  17. I don't know why they're either not doing a four-way, or setting it up in such a convoluted fashion. Either do a three-way time limit draw or a round robin ending 1-1-1. If it's gonna be Darby vs MJF, I'm fine with that, but don't tease a four-way first. I don't think the Outcasts are joining JAS as much as it's them having a common enemy in Cole/Britt. Could be wrong. The Outcasts have gotten a lot better since adding Ruby to the mix and becoming a cohesive unit with a name and matching gear. I just don't know where this is leading. Hayter already beat all three of them (and she hightailed it out of there after the tag match and was absent for the Britt beatdown later, I hope she's not hurt) I could give a fuck less about the TNT title changing hands every month. The International title under OC has taken the TNT title's spot.
  18. So Wardlow's winning that title back tonight and dropping it back to Hobbs at Double or Nothing, right?
  19. I think Cody beat Sammy on Rampage, Sammy won the interim TNT title at the first BOTB, the unification ladder match was on Dynamite. There was a Scorpio Sky - Sammy Guevara title change at a BOTB, but I cant' remember who won it from who.
  20. When the Mox-Punk squash happened, which I saw live in Cleveland, I loved it because fuck Punk, but I even said at the time it didn't make any sense. It makes even less sense in retrospect. You could have just waited and did the match at the PPV if Punk wasn't cleared. Unless "Mox wouldn't job" means he wouldn't lose the interim title unless he won the real title first. In which case, fuck Mox a little bit, but also still fuck Punk. It's like fuck Bret for not jobbing to Shawn but also Shawn was a prick so fuck him too. Anyway, fuck Punk. Him calling out Hangman was the catalyst for all of this. I think Tony was kind of backed into a corner though. You can't really reprimand Punk when you have a crown in his hometown three weeks later expecting him to win the belt. Really, if you still want to do Rocky III at this point. Have Punk lose the PPV match, and build to a rematch after that, with Mox or MJF. In retrospect, you shouldn't've put the belt on Punk in the first place. Have MJF beat Hangman, either at All Out or sometime after Forbidden Door, and build to Punk challenging MJF down the line. Again, the issue is wanting Punk to have a big win in his hometown, especially after losing to MJF in Chicago earlier in the year. Fuck Punk is my point. Can't forget that. I will add that I also have never seen any of the Rocky films, except for the last hour of Rocky V on cable once. I'm a pretty big film nerd but some things you just don't get around to. However, I am six years younger than Punk, so that's my excuse.
  21. If we're doing baseless Forbidden Door card speculation... Okada v Omega V?
