Dear God, please no. Miro is a monster and needs to stand alone. Look what happened to King Kong. It wasn't the planes or the fall that killed him, at least according to Mr. Wax Poetically at the Scene. It was beauty.

  2. I have watched wrestling for over 40 years; and there have been few sequences better than the beginning of the FTW championship match to the end of Ricky Starks being vertical and conscious. Masterful work, and the lions share of credit easily goes to Ricky Starks. I don't like to throw around ultimatums, but this better be the start of something big for Starks and Hobbs or I will flip tables like Jesus in the Temple.

So either Windham "Wyatt 6" Rotunda is coming in to take over the Dark Order or that was some expert trolling specifically saying that the SIX of them aren't going anywhere... Keep us guessing, TK!

It may still be a swerve (not Swerve), but the math adds up.

Starks is maybe the one younger guy who I could see developing both in ring and on the stick into a star. Others have pretty big flaws. Guys like Garcia and HOOK are years away from main evening.

To me, Starks easily has a higher all around ceiling than MJF. I feel like the sky is the limit for Starks were he to be featured more, but I fear that he will be lured to the dark side by Cody.

  5. As the talk of MJF possibly going to WWE in 2024 heat up, and with people opining whether there will be a mass exodus of "Cody people" to WWE, I have to ask the important question for my sanity: Ricky Starks is not a "Cody person" is he? I consider him to have more potential than MJF and his leaving would hurt more than MJF to me.

  6. I don't think it would be a wise look or smart decision to give Sky such a short title reign. Wardlow loses by MJF shenanigans, including the introduction of his newest bodyguard: Brian Cage. I see everyone jumping Wardlow (Spears, Page, Cage, Sky) and it still just barely being enough to cost him the W.

I also see Tully cutting a promo along the lines of "FTR you want to talk about family? I brought a family that wants to kick your ass." Cue the Briscoes.

I saw nothing wrong with Jeff deciding to do a little dance on the way to the ring. Man was excited in the moment. I was excited in the moment to see him. I may have also danced.

Happy and, more importantly, healthy Jeff Hardy is an awesome add; and that pop (and the views of his debut) should tell you that signing him was a wise decision. TK doesn't miss often.

Speaking of no brainer signings, I am in the camp that could listen to Regal speak for hours and hours about practically anything. I think his addition to the roster both for an on air role and backstage will ultimately be one of the most important in AEW history.

  7. King/Jericho was my match of the night. Where people identified with Stone Cold as an everyman because they wanted to stick it to their boss, people organically identify with Eddie as an everyman because he is just fucking real. The amount of people he has inspired with this run and with his candor in interviews is awesome, and I am damn glad to see it.

You know you are over when you are the person not named Punk getting a chant during the dog collar match. The Wardlow turn is off to a fire start.

While we are talking about Wardlow though, whose bright idea was it to have Ricky Starks take a neck bump on a ladder? The man should be protected like he was one of the pillars, because his upside is just as promising, perhaps more.

I am going to go ahead and jump on the Jade Cargill bandwagon. If she continues to learn from Danielson on in ring and psychology and Jericho on promos, I am going to go ahead and call it. With no missteps, she will be one of the biggest stars in all of professional wrestling within the next two years. There is no limit to her potential.

If you're talking about who I think you're talking about, agreed!!!

If you're both talking about who I think you're talking about, do you think he will be a one off or permanent signing? And, will Brandi be with him? (I joke, I joke). First question was serious though.

  9. I was thinking the other day how the Dante/Team Taz angle might have gone if Dante had stayed with the group but remained a face. It got me wondering if this has ever happened: a group or faction where one member is a babyface while the rest are heels, or vice versa? If there are obvious examples that I should remember from my 40 year fandom, I apologize. I'm having memory issues and have forgotten a lot of things that I might once have known.

If you like open world games, Days Gone is a great one. It's Sons Of Anarchy meets Walking Dead plot wise, but a bit less cynical and unpleasant than either of those. The plot is genuinely good, though it takes a long time to get anywhere, and the power curve from more than two zombies meaning certain death to taking on hordes is very satisfying. I also really love how when you have to take out a human camp, they are made up of a specific, realistic number of enemies, who don't respawn and summon reinforcements. Plus, if you're smart or lucky you can sic zombies on them and pick the bones when they're done.

After reading a bit more about Days Gone, it has definitely gone on my must buy list. Thanks!

Witcher 3? You don't have to craft, you can get by with just buying better swords as you progress through the game. And if you're decent at dodging, you can even finish the game with the default armor.

I think I will give Witcher 3 a try. Thanks.

Well, I guess it depends on what level of one classify's as crafting.  It's pretty hard to escape in the "use materials to upgrade".  Even in God of War.

I'm not a fan of "Our settlement needs this, and this and this and this". I'm okay with  having to forage for materials to upgrade weapons and whatnot, I just don't want to build whole villages. I'm not Jimmy Carter.

What system?  I just finished Ghosts of Tsushima: Director's Cut and it is my favorite open world game ever.  It is basically Red Dead Redemption in Feudal Japan with a better more concise story.  It's also incredibly pretty to look at.

I have a PS4, Xbox One, Switch, 3DS, and a PC that doesn't balk at most games. Ghosts of Tsushima is a game that interests me, but I game on a budget and it hasn't dropped in price enough to warrant my buying it. I do definitely want to check it out though.

If you liked the Sandbox stuff from GTA and Sleeping Dogs and liked Tomb Raider, the other 2 games in the series are also good.  If you liked RE4, then I would go with RE7 and Village.

I haven't tried Village. I was fairly deep into RE7 and enjoying it until I hit a no ammo hiccup while battling the mother. I haven't revisited or restarted it. I agree on the other two Tomb Raider games. I especially liked Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

I see that you have played Yakuza 0.  Have you tried any of the Judgment titles designed by the folks that made the Yakuza franchise?  It also has an outcast detective character similar to the protagonist in Sleeping Dogs and it is also semi-sandbox like most of the games on your list.

I played through a bit of Judgement and liked it; but then it went off of PS Now, so I haven't had the chance to finish it.

  16. Here are the last 10 games I have completed.

Fallout 4, GTA 5, Sleeping Dogs, Tomb Raider, RDR2, Resident Evil 4, Yakuza 0, Those Who Remain, Evil Within, Evil Within 2.

I do have a couple caveats. I don't like co-op games ("I'm a rebel Dottie, a loner") and I don't like crafting or settlement building if it is a major component of the game.

I welcome any recommendations based upon this list and my crotchety caveats.

  17. There are certainly flashier teams, perhaps more physical teams; but I will knife fight* anyone who says that FTR is not the best team in the world, at the moment. (*Plastic knives taped to the end of 10 foot poles...I don't know where some of you have been).
