  1. Have we ever seen Holm fight off her back in any of her fights? Certainly not any of her UFC fights.
  2. I'm like 17 episodes behind, in the middle of the G1 climax, and this inexplicable Bad Luck Fale push, this focus on Honma and Shibata, but I can't help but think this is some of my favorite wrestling stuffs to watch right now. I've never been a AJ Styles fan but he's much more tolerable here than anywhere else. Nakamura, Tanahashi and Okada are three fantastic aces I can watch doing anything, even putting over Fale or turning matches with Honma into classics. Can't wait to see more Kota Ibushi though. That guy is awesome.
  3. Looks like Harden might be Harden again. 43 against the Kings. He keeps that up and I'll be happy. Wonder if the Clips are going to take us seriously. Y'know, after they didn't in the playoffs last year.
  4. Glad to see the Rockets win, but Harden still shooting like crap. Looks like the refs were trained to not call fouls when he's driving, which is insane. Yeah, he goes to the line a lot, but that's because people foul him. He gets hit every time because people can't defend him without hitting him. So, um, call a foul? As for Golden State, Stephen gets so many open looks because of the constant moving screens they get away with. Of course, he doesn't need to be open. His pact with Satan and all. Also, fuck Draymond.
  5. I'm not opposed to a Wrestlemania main event of Champ Roman Reigns versus Superpowered Eater of Worlds Bray Wyatt, accompanied by the entire Wyatt Family and Zombie Undertaker and Zombie Kane.
  6. And when they lose, Texans are in first because they can't lose this week -- it's bye week!
  7. Texans are tied for first in the AFC South! And, if the Colts lose to the Broncos, The Texans can be alone in first -- Because they have a bye and can't possibly lose!
  8. Dammit Panthers you had one job.
  9. Steph has a deal with the devil. I think there's a great movie about a group of teens hatching a plot to break up Khloe Kardashian and James Harden so James can get his basketball mojo back.
  10. Finally showed the little ones Star Wars: a New Hope. They lost their minds. They got a little bored a few times, but the next big battle always captured them back. My littlest is five and has watched every Star Wars Rebels episode at least 5 times, and has been frothing at the mouth for the Force Awakens. He went as Darth Vader for Halloween and has a Kylo Ren poster on his wall. It's about time he saw this. My 7 year old said it was as cool as the first time she saw snow. We're probably doing Empire Strikes Back tonight.
  11. I wish The Walking Dead was in the regular forum and not the comic book one. It's pretty far from the comics usually, and it gets way less traffic back here. The Morgan episode is fine, but it's placement after last week's anti-cliffhanger is indefensible. And it suffers from prequel-itis in that you know that Morgan is going to grow into this Bushido warrior who will not kill and his "master" was going to die. Also, not sure if the Wolf he was talking to was bit or what at the end. If he's bit, it explains somewhat of the frenzied manner of the wolves that attacked (e.g. They have nothing to live for and nothing to lose). Morgan's going to die some noble and foolish death this season.
  12. re: The Guest. I liked how this movie played with your expectations and who you were rooting for. Opening shot is of David running, so we know he's bad news. Then we meet him, and he's super nice and super polite. He helps out the little brother in a super badass way. He's cool at the party, defends the girl with the abusive boyfriend, and is completely awesome in the scene with the principal. Then he goes off and kills Spiral and Can't hardly wait, and you're disappointed he's evil. When you find out the evil government / corporate military types are after him, you feel sympathy for him again. Then he goes off and starts killing everyone he came into contact with, and he's evil again. But he's not in control, so sympathy again? Final battle against corporate special forces guy, and you're definitely rooting for him again. Then against him again in the final girl battle with It Follows. And then, really, when he walks out in the fireman get up, you cheer. Yeah, it devolves into silly horror movie stuff at the end with the haunted house stuff, and the Captain America super serum stuff is a bit ridiculous in the amount of punishment he takes, but it's really fun. Plays with your head in fun ways. I found Adam Wingard in Q is for Quack in the ABCs of Death (best one in the first ABCs) and loved You're Next. Also, the soundtrack is fantastic. I guess cool 80s synth stuff Follows Maika Monroe around. "Haunted When the Minutes Drag" by Love and Rockets is on the permanent life playlist. Re: Tourist Trap. I tried.
  13. And if the colts lose tonight, your Houston Texans are tied for first in the dumpster fire known as the AFC South!
  14. Rockets are playing like the Texans.
  15. Dammit Rockets. Fire Rick Smith and Bill O'Brien
  16. Only my 9 year old watches. We told him its predetermined, but they're really hurting each other. We also told them that he can only try wrestling moves in jiu-jitsu class. He learned real quick that an RKO is a good way to give up your back. Rainmaker is surprisingly effective. As is a pedigree to block a double leg.
  17. Warriors are still the cheatingest cheaters ever. Moving screen after moving screen. I saw Draymond Green dive at Anthony Davis's legs and it was called an offensive foul. Fuck those guys. Why do they get the special treatment from the refs?
  18. Bray - Roman. It didn't feel big enough. There were elements that could've worked, but I feel like they were holding back. I liked that Roman started off red hot. He should've ran through most of his offense during the hot streak including the Superman Punch and the Spear. Yeah, finisher kickout, but it would've been at the beginning of the match and explained away. Bray's comeback being all weapon shots is good too, but too tame and not enough trash talk. I like Singapore canes and kendo stick shots too, but those work best on bare skin. So Roman in his commando get up blocks the effectiveness of those hits. Plus, it's a visual that shows that this match is going beyond the normal. Also, at one point, Bray started spearing one of Roman's hand with the stick and I thought we'd get some injure the hand / stop the superman punch psychology. I guess not. Finally, there should've been a short backstage bit with the family where Bray can tell them not to worry about interfering, because they've already done the damage to Roman's soul. Or something like that. I just felt like there was more to it but they stopped way short of the potential.
  19. Dream on. The Texans front office will eat razor blades wrapped in barbed wire and C4 before eating 3-plus years of O'Brien's contract. O'Brien's a joke.
  20. Texans should just fire everyone.
  21. I think the next time they're in Cleveland, someone can start running down the city and Miz and Dolph run out at the same time to defend Cleveland. Then they start defending the city by saying the same promo at the same time. Then they look at each other. "What's your favorite football team?" "Browns!" Baseball? "Indians!" Basketball? "Lebron!" Damn it, did we just become best friends? And then they can be best friends and stay heels, because Cleveland sucks.
  22. How has Miami never beaten the Texans? That's a statistical anomaly. I mean, the Texans have been good what, 2 years in their existence? Weird. Also, DeAndre Hopkins is a baller.
  23. I think Seth Rollins is the best thing about the show nowadays. He's the most consistent character out there. You know he'll be a total coward all the time, and totally try to hide that fact even though it totally shows. You can rationalize his losses as him just giving into his cowardly impulses. The funny thing about him, though, is that he's actually better than he thinks he is. So when he starts doing well in matches, you can see that he's even surprising himself. I'm happy with Seth Rollins, hapless WWE champ. I still think he shoulda beat Cena clean at Summerslam with the 540. Hopefully, he'll beat Kane clean with the 540 or the frog splash. Just stop using the pedigree. Never has a finisher looked so forced on a guy.
