I rewound this to see if the Corona signboard on the ring apron was cracked before Satanico slammed Atlantis' head into it. I guess it was, which made Satanico's gloating after the blow slightly less evil. My only complaint is that Atlantis' constant playing to the crowd got annoying, and started taking away from all the hatred that Satanico was bringing to the match. I can still see this one finishing high on my ballot, though. Only MS1/Chicana is ahead of it.

I had to rewatch the match because I had no idea when each individual fall started, or even it there were three falls. So much chaos. So great.

If this match doesn't finish #1, I'll be amazed. This is spectacular. My favourite thing is the selling after all the near falls by MS1. MS1 is frustrated in a "What is it going to take?" fashion. Sangre is frustrated he is in the condition to put himself in a position to be pinned. Even with the faces completely obscured by the blood, the expressions are unmistakable.

It is rare that one moment really hurts my impression of a match, but unfortunately, this match had it. It is early in the third fall, when Corleone throws Canek to the turnbuckles, and the latter waits a split second after impact before launching himself out into a flying back bump. It was a shame, since I was pretty happy with the match up until that point. One thing that stood out to me was Corleone using an armdrag to escape a hold from Canek. That always struck me as more of a technico thing to do to a rudo, instead of the reverse.

CN holding on with the double underhook suplex into a submission was probably my personal highlight for the match. Enough so that it had me hoping for more of his stuff on the set. Alas, this was his only appearance. I guess you take what you get when it comes to early 80s lucha and availability. As for the match, the matwork was more than competent. Well-done lucha matwork never really seems to drag down into the territory of restholds - it always seems like a struggle. Here, it does. It is always a challenge to figure where the early stuff will rank.This felt like a middle of the ballot kinda match, with an outside chance of making my top 30.

I went from "Hey! These comedy spots are a blast! Keep showing those rudos what's for" to "Yegads. How long is this thing?" pretty quickly. I can't see this one making it too high on my ballot, especially considering the match listing.

When the first thing you see on a set is the bullring lucha setup, you know the set as a whole is going to be a fun one. I was expecting a Perro double stomp instead of the senton to wrap up the second caida. Cops everywhere when a posted Perro staggers into the crowd. AWESOME! It was great to see Perro still out for blood after the foul as opposed to just walking around taunting the crowd, or denying it. Great start to the set

I just hope someone has a nice cup of chamomile tea ready for the referee in the back.
