  1. So when she shows up as a #1 contender with a 10 match winning streak are they just baffled?
  2. Trent has almost perfect timing on taking moves, makes them look extra large. He really is sneaky great.
  3. @DEAN I started dreaming about a Samoa Joe-Keith Lee match near the end of that main event.
  4. Well, that was just a fantastic hour of television.
  5. Or, he becomes Dino from the Flintstones, in a blatant appeal to brand synergy with Warner.
  6. Is there a way to upload photos from a desktop? I tried posting photos I took on Flickr and linking to them here but that didn't want to work either. I looked through a couple of pages of the Board News folder to see if there was anything on there.
  7. I recall the title match against Goldberg on Nitro being very good, but that could be also be due to the crowd and the circumstances. Since this is gifs and pics, maybe a short clip to make it fit?
  8. I'm not a particularly "smart" fan in the sense that I recognize callbacks, so to me it was just great mat wrestling. The only thing I recognized as a Hart signature was the sternum to the turnbuckle corner bump. The inside cradle reversal has been used in other AEW matches recently also and is a timeless classic. In music terms, it's obvious who their influences are and they will occasionally borrow some riffs. In this case, it's like a band doing a live set and throwing in a verse of a cover song in the middle of their song that is similar in style.
  9. I'm just shocked that there was only one QB picked in a year where consensus was that none was really a first-round talent. Usually, teams panic and reach. Makes today a lot more interesting. It also means that some of these guys, if they pan out, won't be near as expensive for their option year.
  10. "Look, Aaron, the Bengals made the damned Super Bowl with no OL, one star WR, and a great defense. It can work!"
  11. Only ones I even know are MCMG but I voted Deonna just because most people (not I) seem to think the AEW women’s division sucks and needs better people.
  12. or RoH? The Undisputed Elite segment backstage was the clear choice to be cut or moved to Friday.
  13. The biggest questions are if there will be a run on QBs, most of whom aren't considered true first round talents, and/or if there will be 8-10 WRs picked in the first round (and if Green Bay will finally take one).
  14. When Shida was "blind" and grabbed the kendo stick, she grabbed the wrong end and cracked Deeb with the handle. Was that what caused it?
  15. My immediate thought is that it's too early for a BCC tag title match unless there is somehow a super-faction that will interfere and cost them the match (maybe this is where JAS-BCC starts). Would you have Wardlow get the win here, or have MJF pull out some extra dirty tricks to win and keep the feud simmering?
  16. I agreed with a lot of what you said (that I snipped) but I had this exact same thought last night. Ricky Starks is a future superstar, they should be using Cole to build and put over guys like him.
  17. Hmmm, what about a return match as a tribute during the PPV with the Owen Hart Cup finals, with Dax giving Cash a win back, and keeping a rubber match in their pocket for down the line. Cash smiling on the mat after the flash pin while Harwood was crying was phenomenal. Good camera work, and good on AEW for letting all that post-match stuff soak in.
  18. That was what made me have the “strap the rocket to his back” reaction.
  19. First hour was so great! Second hour was so there (by AEW standards). FTR match was as good as we all hoped. Punk’s promo walking around the ring was fucking fantastic. BCC vs Factory should have been as squashy as last week IMO, but I still enjoyed it a lot. Also kind of smart that they’re wrestling trios both to get Yuta over more and to keep the Danielson-Mox tag team on the back burner while other tag title stuff gets worked out. Wardlow-Archer was surprisingly good as it turned into two big athletic dudes who also beat the hell out of each other. Strap a fucking rocket to Wardlow’s back, he’s a freak. Storm-Soho (who from googling have an NXT faction connection) vs Hayter-Britt will do nicely. JAS-Kingston et al. was very good to start and then went a couple minutes too long. Hager looks like a 12-year old who had growth spurt but hasn't gotten new clothes. Big Money Matt Menard is so punchable. Daniel Garcia continues to be the sore thumb. I just can’t stand Adam Cole at this point. I’m done with him. I’m close to turning the channel when he’s on. At least Dante didn’t have to eat the pin this week. Maybe he and Shotty can form a tag team while they run some kind of Brock as BCC try-hard angle. I imagine opinions will be split again(or maybe I’ll be the asshole) but that women’s match was a serious letdown and a joke as a street fight for 90% of the match. Oh boy, even more House of Black vs Death Triangle. FFWD. Flash paper fire ball!! Now THAT’S sports entertainment baby! Main event was interesting in that it definitively built Sky, put him over as a face mostly, and laid seeds at the end for ATT to turn on him. As a match, it had problems because they’ve run so many ladder matches recently (and had that great Sammy-Cody match just 3 months ago) that they have no choice but to up the ante, which led to Sammy almost breaking his neck, and a comical “barbed wire” ladder. I complain too much, because I did enjoy the show and I enjoy AEW. I’m just inappropriate a situation where several of the big angles/characters turn me off. Rampage looks really good though!
  20. It's time for Miro to come back and reclaim.
  21. Just saw that this is being done and wanted to pipe in that I agree completely with your reviews of the first 4 Nitros (that's all I've caught on the rewatch so far). The Wright-Disco match was shockingly good, and then the Kurasawa-Pittman match was stiff AF (Pittman had just had a squash win on Cobra at Fall Brawl).
  22. Discovery's target audience and main ratings draw is men 18-49 with all of their Gold Rush (literally like 5 different shows at this point), Dangerous Catch, and other shows like that. AEW fits right in to that.
