  1. Oh, I forgot to add that the Luchasaurus run-in totally killed the crowd dead.
  2. Darby-Cage was both something I always like to see (Darby getting rag dolled by a huge dude) and also another example of what I said about Dynamite and going to the well once too often on some of these match set ups. I am glad to see Cage be more the monster and less El Anabolico, but I’d also be more glad to see less Cage. Eddie! Eddie! Kind of weird to say that his time in Japan was facing next level competition (even if true), but ready for him to come back inspired and angry. Until the last 5 minutes, that was by far the worst OC match of the last year. So much overbooking and bullshit. Please for the love of god kill this QTV angle once and for all. Wheeler was great on commentary, as @Zakk_Sabbathmentioned I loved the “Man in the Mask” reference, BCC 4 LIFE! Final stretch was good stuff, and I’m excited about OC-Yuta. Was kind of hoping they would have it for Wembley with some no holds barred stipulation. ROH tag segment was great, I love that they acknowledge the history and include people who don’t work for them. When I saw the Outrunners I yelled with joy! That was a perfect squash, Aussie Open looked like total bosses, everything looked stiff and smooth. More Outrunners on my TV please! Post-match promo was good stuff too, give him a couple of years and Kyle Fletcher could be a legit main event singles guy. Main event was a forgone conclusion, and we’re back to the Outcasts cheating while the faces come out solo, but that match was better than the Shida-Anna Jay match and Saraya’s best so far. She put Skye over huge, including a visual pin, before the inevitable interference. Funny moment with Toni choking Skye with her foot and Skye biting it. Dynamite is going to be weird and wild.
  3. The Outrunners are the greatest jobber tag team in the world in my opinion. They were on Dark/Elevation a few times and I think on Dynamite once.
  4. I got to hand it to them though, a month ago I was rolling my eyes at the idea of an MJF-Cole title match and now they’ve actually made me care about it, anticipate it, and make it feel like a proper main event for this huge show.
  5. I saw the Offenders do a reunion in 2002, it was pretty good stuff although not quite to the level of 80s hardcore I loved. edit: here's one song
  6. I think we've seen so damn many random trios matches the last year or so that we forget that, when done right, it's a perfect format for a boiling hot match that furthers a feud/angle.
  7. As long as the price of oil stays high, a lot of Texas schools will have big money boosters throwing cash around. I will say that SMU also has some older Texas money boosters who aren't fully OGE leveraged (UT is the same way).
  8. You absolutely cannot overestimate the impact of reduction of indoor smoking, and general overall reduction in smoking, in people looking a little younger these days. We also have a much healthier relationship with sunscreen and sun protection.
  9. Even the announcers were struggling to explain those.
  10. After finishing up Ted Lasso, we dropped Apple. Maybe we'll do a trial once Shrinking and Silo have their season 2 runs. I liked For All Mankind first season then sort of lost interest. Foundation was so boring I tuned out.
  11. I also have not seen any reason to think Shida is the ace of the division other than one match after Toni Storm debuted where she actually had some stiff shots. Pretty sure Mox caught an elbow or knee on the second series of dive, it was definitely hardway because he wasn't gushing or selling it.
  12. I hate having it on the card too, but I think we are going to get Kingdom and Strong interfering in the ROH match to give Aussie Open a cheap win, after which you get MJF mad at Cole about his "friends" and Cole being further torn.
  13. They figured out how to both get Saraya in a match and protect her. Will Jayme help Britt win and immediately kill my interest in the women’s division?
  14. Turns out I was wrong about the Hardyz-Bucks, perfectly solid match that stayed within the Hardy limitations. Also, it was actually kinda cool seeing RVD get his greatest hits in. Still don’t give a shit about the angle. JAS opening was a little longer than I would’ve liked but it was fine. Garcia ruled. They finally went to the well once too often and too deep with MJF-Cole and lost me. Endless in-ring segment, bad acting, bad jokes. The trampoline park skit was better. I had stopped FFWDing through MJF and Cole segments and today I regretted that. Other than the chop segment and the stomp, Penta missed everything by a foot. Another case of going to the well one too many times with the house style move trades, the multiple striking segments. It was funny hearing the announcers covering for all the nonsensical kick outs. Also bad camerawork in this match, and really all night. Way to totally miss the huge unmasking! I watched the Embassy entrance for Swerve’s entrance. Nice set up for a match and always love Tony’s call ITS STIIIING! Main event was so, so bad, partly because of Anna having to constantly fix her top, the cameras having to cut back and forth for the same reason, and also just totally never being on the same page. Wrestlesky loved it, and I’m finding that my tastes and opinions are very different than theirs. Guess they figured out how to get Saraya on the Wembley card while also protecting her.
  15. Looks like a Playstation 2
  16. Will be interesting to see what Shida can do with Anna Jay. Could be good, could have more whiffs than a Nolan Ryan classic. Bucks vs. Hardys will be a spotfest with two guys who can't really hit many spots anymore. BCC vs. Lucha Brothers will piss me off. Could not care less about Jack Perry and the ECW revival.
  17. True, but when I went to the Austin taping in May (right after things changed), there was a good 15-20% of the crowd there at 6 pm hoping they were still doing an hour of dark matches, and pretty disappointed and restless that we didn't get anything until 6:40.
  18. It was on the Gulf Coast several million years ago
  19. the state of Arkansas begs to differ!
  20. Given that most indies run on weekends and the amount of talent who are on call for the Collision live show and ROH tapings on Saturdays, that likely further limits their ability to work indy shows. I did see an ad for a show in north Jersey that had a dozen or so AEW wrestlers advertised, including the Acclaimed.
  21. I thought there was a resemblance but didn't pay close enough attention. Given the recent directives, I was sure the kid in the audience was a plant.
  22. I'm not getting cable at my new place, so I basically either pay for a internet TV setup to watch AEW (my laptop is a work computer so I don't have VPN options) or just stop watching. Since Max has a lot of my wife's favorite Discovery shows now I would pay a little more for access to AEW that way.
  23. They stopped them AFAIK, think they decided the juice wasn't worth the squeeze. Especially with live Saturday show now. There are usually 3-4 womens matches on ROH, and many of the recent TV shows have had a womens match as a pre-show dark match. ROH and the YouTube shows are, to me, evidence that the 1 womens match per TV show is a network thing and not a Tony K thing, but its just speculation and I know he isn't as active booking those shows.
  24. he wears his heart on his sleeve, and sometimes that can actually be off-putting (but not to me).
