  1. I can certainly understand that. I don't hate Hunter – but I strongly dislike his work during this period. I just don't think he was funny, and he thinks he was. Plus I don't think he was "edgy"; I think he was just a bully. Nash and Hall were the same, with those endless self indulgent NWO segments. It looks like the network will be running the Monday night wars come this summer, which I imagine will be the same as the old 24/7 where they posted Raw and Nitro. I'll watch them in order at that time, so I'll have more context. We'll see if I change my mind. I'm always happy to be proven wrong when it comes to particular wrestlers or eras.
  2. Greg V was on the Insane Clown Posse tv show as their enforcer. He looked so uncomfortable.
  3. This late 90s footage can get off my lawn! Though I will qualify a bit: I especially hate DX. There certainly was good stuff, too.
  4. This segment from RAW with DX in blackface as The Nation is not funny -- it's actually pretty damned offensive. Also, it's goes on way too long. More important, it just feels like the wrong tone. I believe the best promo doesn't bury your opponent. But maybe that's just too old school of me. I wasn't watching during the Attitude Era, but looking back it seems so ridiculous all around.
  5. Ironically enough, this'd be the first year where it probably wouldn't have as immediate a financial impact, as at this point WWE is expecting people to buy (or have bought) the Network rather than order the PPV. Other than that, what FSW said, especially if HHH were on that plane as well and they needed someone to give the book to.If Dixie Carter were smart, (why do I hear laughter?) she'd try to sell to Vince then and there. DVDVR would immediately get behind a Regal/Zayn feud for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. #TeamRegal4Eva
  6. I had to put my phone down and run to the bathroom, because this Lesnar on TV discussion made me almost piss my pants from laughing so hard. Well done, gentlemen.
  7. I find myself less interest in long epics and instead preferring a well worked 20 min match. I've only just recently realized that fact. Maybe it's a case of not wanting to spend 40 to 60 minutes on one match when there's so much that I have yet to see - and only so many viewing hours in a day. Plus, in so many cases, the match did not really need to be 45 minutes long.
  8. NWO '01 continued Eddy/Benoit/Jericho/PAC fatal 4 way - decent enough match, though the structure had inherent weakness. It causes a lot of your turn-my turn action. Triple threats have same issue. I much prefer 4-way as elimination. Also: Fuck Benoit for being a murderer. And fuck Benoit for causing Davey Richards. Several times in the match, it was like I was looking at Davey and his so-serious face and motions. Trish vs Steph was a lot better than it had any right to be. They only rarely fell into cat fight mode, instead amateurly but adequately throwing a lot of rasslin spots. And Regal was comedy gold at the end. LOL at the crowd booing Trish for fixing her wedgie.
  9. No Way Out 2001 - so I can see the Austin/Haitch match for discussion over at PWO. Never seen the show, so figured I'd start from the beginning. Good lord, hardcore title matches suck.
  10. True. I always like DA best when I watch those 6-woman tags. Just teasing about looking up Estrellita matches. I certainly like her well enough, but daresay I wouldn't seek out an Estrellita match specifically. On another note: That Rush/Casas match that opened this thread. The link is dead. Anyone have a current link? Or just a date, so I can look it up myself? I am intrigued, and I watched zero Rasslin in any language in 2013.
  11. So trashy. *looks both ways and goes to dailymotion*
  12. BTW, damn that 80's Lucha podcast. As if I could afford more footage. With how quickly I sent an order for it after the podcast ended, I might as well just give him the password to my paypal and let him take my money directly.
  13. Yes, there is that. Is that her thing these days, instead of the schoolgirl with pigtails?
  14. Thanks, Fredo. I am always so far behind that I have never noticed one taping/airing/posting so quickly.
  15. It is certainly true in my experience that he almost never has anything of value to say on these panels.
  16. Is CMLL on Terra broadcast live? I was just watching the luchadora 6-man (6-girl?) tag cubsfan posted, it has aired and taped date as 3/14/14. Just curious, as so much lucha seems to be pre-taped.
  17. Meaning to watch that one, to hear a fresh POV from Dogg. Interesting comment re Hayes -- I usually seem to think he's one of the quieter ones on those panels. (Not as quiet as Sarge, but still.) To me, it seems like it's Flair and Foley that won't shut up and let the others talk.
  18. because he realized he would never be as Fa-Fa-Fa-Fa-Funky as Dee Dee King?
  19. On the Texas episode of "Legends", they showed clips of a 6-man tag with Fritz, Mike, and Kevin Von Erich. Fritz didn't do much, but the Freebirds sold really well for him and it popped the crowd like crazy. Probably the same for Rocky J.
  20. I may try to watch this one later today. I caught part of Living Dangerously 2000 last night because I was in the mood for that Dusty/Corino bloodbath. The opening with Gertner and Cyrus reminded me why I do not love ECW most days. But I am always open-minded.
  21. Baby Cena, from Smackdown 2003. The Network is a goldmine for screenshots.
  22. Dear Tony S, I'm pretty sure the crowd did not "literally" explode during Sting's entrance at GAB '88. That would have been messy.
  23. Josh, I just typed this comment: Holy shit! Dusty back in the 70s commentating over his own Florida tag match with Murdoch against Race/Roop is maybe the greatest thing I've ever seen and heard in Rasslin! (The clip is on the Texas episode of Legends of Wrestling.)
  24. Just watched the legends episode about Giants – no Flair, and lots of great sentimental stories about Andre. Terrific episode. Then watched Dusty vs Corino from Living Dangerously 2000. Very bloody. Even fat, slow, and tired, Dusty sparkled. There's a magic and presence with the all-time greats that most guys don't have and will never understand. Now switched on the stream, and a legends I've never seen about Texas. Again no Flair! Good stuff.
