  1. How do you change skins again? I haven't done it in forever.
  2. Punching the jabroni Hulk Hogan when he starts convulsing like he's having a seizure.
  3. That's a shame. I enjoyed his direct to DVD sequels to The Substitute that he did. I keep meaning to watch Deep Rising, as I've heard it's a pretty fun flick but just never got around to it. Looking at his IMDB it looks like he worked pretty steadily the past 25 years so good for him. RIP.
  4. I watched BTE today... am I the only one who finds Ryan Nemeth just painfully unfunny? This whole "secrets" thing was kinda funny when Conan did it (I think it was Conan?) but good god Nemeth is just terrible in them. I've hated every "comedy" bit he's done on BTE.
  5. Have you watched The Afterparty yet?
  6. That's an interesting thought because if the UWF deal doesn't happen, Sting doesn't join the NWA. At least not when he did.
  7. Stars on Mars is decent mindless entertainment, mostly to see Marshawn Lynch be Marshawn Lynch. That man is a treasure.
  8. I can't remember about Deion or Revis but Sherman definitely always picked one side. At least while he was in Seattle. Dunno about his last few years in San Fran.
  9. Aww man. The Gambler was my favorite of the WCW jobbers. Did he ever win a televised match?
  10. Did YOU know Rellik spelled backwards is Killer?
  11. This is the link for Wremix (a new free wrestling streaming service). The DEFY show with Kenta vs Nick Wayne will be uploaded there sometime soon, I HIGHLY suggest checking it out: https://streamstak.com/wremix/join/
  12. Yeah this was REALLY good. This is what Sony should be doing instead of half-hearted live action movies using Spidey villains.
  13. I remain convinced that somewhere in Ron Killings' attic is a painting of him that ages instead of his body.
  14. They take place after Vince's weekly medical treatments designed to cheat death for one more week when he gets his booster shot.
  15. The DEFY show in Seattle last night was really good, and a little noteworthy. So with that in mind, in tribute to the big guy (who I am nowhere near as talented a writer as just to be clear) here is my best attempt at a road report: We left around 330pm to pick up my third friend so we would have time to eat before the show. We stopped at a local place called Indigo where I had some absolutely fantastic jerked chicken street tacos. My one friend (whose only request was that we stop somewhere that sold either a burger or wings) decided to get fish and chips which we both hassled him about because he stated like 3 times as long as he could get a burger or wings he'd be happy. We still had a good amount of time to kill as traffic wasn't nearly as bad as we had thought it would be so we stopped at a local comic/toy store where I bought a rather cool looking (IMO anyway) figure of The Blob (the Marvel villain, not the murderous gelatinous beast from the horror movies). Eventually we made our way to the show and after waiting outside for a bit get in early (we bought VIP passes). KENTA was the main attraction on the show and he was doing a meet & greet. He seemed pretty comfortable conversing with people so when we got the front of the line and it was our turn I said to him "Punk's GTS looks like shit, and Jericho's codebreaker also looks like shit". KENTA smiled and laughed then said "The original is always the best isn't it?". Nice dude. His english is flawless too, he barely even has an accent. The show starts and the opening match is Artemis Spencer vs Christopher Daniels. Daniels is a regular with DEFY and gets insane heel heat every time. They lock up, Spencer pushes Daniels to the corner and Daniels immediately starts loudly yelling "CLEAN BREAK CLEAN BREAK CLEAN BREAK" over and over again, then berates the referee for not doing his job (which draws a loud "Fuck you Daniels" chant). Eventually these 3 guys who have sort of been Daniels' protoges/lackeys interfere. Spencer takes them out but then Daniels rolls him up (with feet on the ropes for leverage) and gets the win. Afterwards all 4 put the boots to Spencer until the lights go out and we hear "KO-NNICHI-WA" and Curry Man's music starts playing. Daniels is understandably confused as Curry Man comes out. It's pretty obvious to regular fans that this is local guy (and former DEFY champ) "Ravenous" Randy Myers, who recently lost a loser leaves Defy match to Daniels. Mye...Curry Man takes out the henchmen then Daniels powders out of the ring. A local tag team called Midnight Heat are out next (they're great, old-school heels by the way) and call out a new tag team in the area called Reloaded. Reloaded are a couple of young kids who must have just graduated from a local wrestling school because neither one looks old enough to even drive a car. It's a pretty decent match, Midnight Heat get the win. They also get really great heel heat every time they come out. Next up is the DEFY women's title as Vert Vixen defends against Shazza McKenzie. This is my first time seeing Shazza, and while I will try to keep this as appropriate as possible let's just say that the thing you've read she is most famous for absolutely has to be seen in person to be really appreciated. Vixen has been wrestling 3 or 4 years now, and while she still needs some work you can see a LOT of potential in her. Give her a couple more years and I wouldn't be surprised if she isn't in one of the big companies. A very good match, Shazza had to do a little carrying in a couple of spots but it was still quite enjoyable. Vert wins and retains, but I hope they bring Shazza back as I would not mind seeing more of her. At one point someone started a "Women's wrestling" chant which some people countered with "It's just wrestling". Galeno del Mal (Dr Wagner Jr's kid) vs Delta Jr is next. Galeno is MASSIVE in person. It was actually better than I had thought it was gonna be. I thought Galeno was going to be very plodding based on a couple other matches of his I watched but he moved around pretty well. It was way more back and forth than you would think if you looked at the 2 (Delta Jr is very skinny) and was a decent lucha match. 6 man tag next as Judas Icarus, Travis Williams and Evan Rivers (the 3 guys who interfered in Daniels' match earlier) take on Rocky Romero, Guillermo Rosas and Cody Chuun. This was a hell of a fun match. If you haven't seen Cody Chuun, try to. He is REALLY good and has gotten better every single time I've seen him. Rosas is insanely over with the Defyance (that's what the fans are called). A lot of fun action in this, all 6 guys looked really good. Team Romero gets the win then we get a fun little bit where Rosas and Romero try to do the same breakdance move Chuun frequently does (basically a spinerooni but he strikes a different pose at the end). Another women's match as Nicole Matthews takes on Allie Katch. Nicole spends the bulk of the early match working over Katch's arm and god bless her Allie sells it for the entire match (holding it in pain, shaking it trying to get feeling back, struggling to use it, etc) which my friends and I remark is so rare to see anymore. This was a REALLY good match and if not for the main event probably would have been my match of the night. Nicole eventually gets the rather dubious win as she distracts the ref by removing a turnbuckle pad then while he's fixing it, she hits Katch with a wrench and puts her in an armbar which Katch taps out to. Main event time as Nick Wayne defends the DEFY world title against KENTA. Early in the match KENTA is mocking Wayne, calling him "little baby" and trying to bully him. This is a fantastic match, and will be airing for free in a few days on some free new wrestling streaming service that's launching (called Wremix) so I would highly encourage you to watch it. KENTA tries a couple of times to cheat before eventually hitting Wayne with the title belt, hitting the GTS and getting the win (shocking the HELL out of the crowd). A few pics I stole off twitter:
  16. I don't think a series with Ted back in America would work. A large part of the fun was seeing Ted as the perpetual fish out of water. They definitely laid the groundwork for a women's team show; and I wouldn't be surprised to see a series focused around Roy, Nate and Beard with Ted maybe popping up in a guest appearance. It was a strange choice how they had so much stuff happen off screen. Nate quits his job, Ted tells Rebecca he's leaving, the team discusses bringing Nate back... odd choices considering how long each episode was. I'm enjoying this season of Beavis & Butthead. Much more so than the first "comeback" season. Seemed like they want to stretch it out beyond just these 8 episodes. It's not "must-watch" for me, but I do watch them all eventually (mostly because I like Lizzy Caplan).
  17. After waiting a couple of days and re-watching a few things: Buy-in: Man the Hardys are looking rough. I think Jeff would be better off just not wrestling any more. He had a faraway look on his face like he didn't really wanna be there. Matt looks like he's in tremendous pain whenever he moves. I think Matt could still offer a little bit as a manager who interferes every now and then and only wrestles when he's forced to in storyline, but they need to not be so active anymore. Also this whole angle with Ethan Page and Matt feels like it's been going for like 2 years. Battle Royal: as far as battle royals go, this one was pretty fun. I was hoping Starks or White would win it to give that feud something new to keep it from getting too stale but I have no problem with OC winning. Swerve is so great and is one of my absolute favorites to watch right now. The man needs a rocket attached to his back. I think I'm most glad they didn't do the tired "2 biggest guys in the match turn around and have a stare down while everyone else just stops and watches" bit because it's so played out. At this point I dunno what else you do with Orange though. Dude has beaten like 2/3 of the active male roster at this point. Cole vs Jericho was such a mess. Adam Cole seems like a really good dude IRL and when he's in with smaller guys I like him a lot (like his stuff vs Orange or Jungle Boy). But I just don't buy him as an asskicker. This whole match just felt off. It was like they practiced and planned a bunch of stuff they wanted to but just could not get on the same page when it came time to do it. I still don't really get the point of Sabu being involved other than a nostalgia pop. Even then, RVD would have made more sense as he at least has a little history with Jericho and probably could have done a little more than Sabu's fall of the top rope. To be clear I don't wanna come across as shitting on Sabu too much. The fact that he's even walking upright considering everything he's done is amazing and good on him for getting a payday. I just don't think this angle was the right one to involve him in. JR was getting just awful during this too, making sure everyone knows that Cole and Britt aren't married. I'm a little surprised he didn't say "Living in sin". I enjoyed the tag title match, but to be fair I am a total sucker for Jarrett's routine right now. It was an overbooked clusterfuck, but unlike the Cole/Jericho match it was a well done overbooked clusterfuck. I'm guessing this leads to Mark starting a feud with Jarrett trying to draw Lethal away from the dark side. Nice to see a little payoff with Jarrett/Lethal's repeated run ins with Aubrey Edwards get paid off. As long as Aubrey and Karen don't try and wrestle. Let Aubrey get someone to help Mark fight Jarrett and company but keep her out of the ring. I'm guessing FTR are moving on to be a part of the Starks vs Bullet Club gold story so maybe we see a new BC member soon? I really wanted to like Wardlow vs Christian and while neither of them really did anything wrong, all the nonsense with Arn and Luchasaurus at the end really dragged it down for me. Christian can still work and bump his ass off and Wardlow's swanton off the ladder was a sight to see but Arn sucking on Luchasaurus' thumb for what felt like 5 minutes (I know he was supposed to be biting it but it didn't look that way) just took me out of it. Nice spot at the end with Wardlow catching Christian and powebombing him. If they had just kept it simple (have Arn hit Luchasaurus with a chair or something and put him down) I think the match might have felt better. Women's title was what it was. Hopefully Hater can recover in time to have a rematch at Wembley with 65,000+ cheering her on. I don't get why they didn't just announce Acclaimed vs HOB before hand. It was so obvious leading up to the PPV. Max's line about Buddy was tremendous. It was a decent enough match but it felt like it just easily could have been on the buy-in or main eventing Rampage. The special rules don't really add much to HOB's trios matches in my opinion. I feel like this would have better served with 4-5 weeks of build. Jade vs Taya had no mystery to it at all. As much as I like Taya and really wanted to see her win, it's been so obvious for so long that they were saving Jade for Statlander that I knew she was winning. I was a little surprised by Stat coming out and doing the Hogan/Yoko quick surprise title switch. Statlander deserves it so much and I'm happy for her but I'm kinda torn. On the one hand, like I said Statlander deserves it but on the other hand I feel like snapping a 2 year undefeated streak should have been something that was built up as a big deal, not done as a surprise. Hopefully Taya doesn't get pushed aside as they could easily turn her heel and have her chase Statlander saying how she softened Jade up. It cracked me up how everyone but Jungle Boy got a special entrance. Sammy got to announce the pregnancy, Darby had his video, MJF had the descending throne... Jack just walks out like always does. It was a fun match that made all 4 look good. I didn't think Jungle Boy or Sammy had any real shot but I thought they might pull the trigger on Darby. I'm good with the way MJF won though. Especially since I feel like you can use it to set up a Darby-MJF match with some high stakes. Maybe MJF makes Darby risk Sting's career or something. Main event was.... eh? Fucking band played Wild Thing waaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy too long (Bucks should have super kicked them 4 or 5 minutes earlier). Too many missed shots. If they're going to do these wild all over the place brawls they should plan out ahead of time so the production truck knows who to follow. So many things that should have been a finish but weren't. Exploding Superkick should have put Mox out of the match for good, even though it did look cool. Matt's barefoot thumbtack landing was brutal to watch. Takeshita interfering at the end was a good idea in theory, but the crowd didn't seem to give a shit. Crowd didn't seem to give a shit about anything really. Might be time to take the PPVs to some other areas. A PPV from Arthur Ashe would be awesome. All in all, a decent show but it felt like a really long episode of Dynamite and not a can't-miss event.
  18. I found a match on youtube with Galeno del Mal vs Bandido. It wasn't very good.
  19. Lots of talk online that they may be adding in a revised creation club/some new form of paid mods. Supposedly would be modeled after Minecraft's system.
  20. So apparently Royce Lewis' return to the Twins lineup yesterday was exactly one year to the day from him tearing his ACL last year.
  21. But I didn't see anyone else. Only Jackie Chan.
