  1. Well more like top 10 plus 3 honorable mentions. Over in the 2023 indie matches thread mentioned how this year hit 25 indie shows in Mississippi and Louisiana and filmed 100 matches total. https://youtu.be/W-kLe1q36js?si=FHP4AJsHM7iB3p-p Honorable mention Battlezone Championship Wrestling Braxton Mississippi June 10th 2023 Battlezone is the oldest indie in MS. Was NWA battlezone for years. First off this venue. It is where the local fire department stores their rigs. No power no running water and bathrooms are 3 portapotties out front or "Walk down the trail into the woods and watch out for snakes Pimp" Chris Black is the big heel. Been around MS for 20 years. Frankie Thomas is the local face in BZ. Behind the scenes,Frankie is married into the family that has ran BZ siince 2000. Chris use to run a fed on the MS coast that folded early in 2023.
  2. Cool my list video goes public New Years evil. Starting the next day I will post the list with links to each match, some of them I might have multiple versions of the match. Should that be a seperate thread? Or in this one?
  3. No more shows for me this year. Hit 25 shows, all indie events in Mississippi or Louisana, and filmed 100 matches exactly. Got together a list of the top 10 matches I saw this year. If there is any interest I will post it along with links ot each match.
  4. Glad to see Rey Fury is getting morre eyes on him. Dude has been working all over MS and the south since 2015ish. Saw him last Friday at a LAW show, asked when his NWA match was airing. Then a pile of us were joking about Jey Uso stealing Rey's Yeet Yeet catchphrase. Not knowing what was gonna happen on Raw Monday then Rey's match airing this week. He does the froggy elbow cause his two favorite wrestlers growing up were Macho Man and Eddy Guerrerro. I will dig it up later. But on my channel got Rey Fury, back when he was dark Fury, VS Vordell Walker in an old Church Gym in Byram MS. Was at most 20 people in the crowd and 25 people vending or selling food.
  5. Getting ready for the last 3 or 4 shows of the year. Since March pretty much 3 weekends a month been on the road hitting up local indies all over MS/LA. Got to see Steve Anthony come out of retirement to face Vordell Walker in October down in Houma LA. Saw a fun Casket match between a local vet and a rising youngster in Bay St Louis. And saw someone counter a figure four, applied on top a bar in the venue, with a plastic spork. Now if we can just get someone in December to book the "Nightmare Jeremiah Before Christmas" hardcore match.
  6. He's the cousin that brings a 2 buck bag of napkins and a stack of 20 paper plates to Thanksgiving.
  7. Down in MS we got Ref Oscar Boma. AKA Ref O. Boma. Any show he is at he gets a huge cheer and O BOMA O BOMA chant when he comes out. Same with Super Dave Miller aka Pondwater Dave aka the ref that counted the pin in Flair's final match.
  8. There's a guy down here in the deep south uses a claw variant as a finisher. Nightmare Jeremiah ,so far has done a mandible claw into a chokeslam ,and also a normal head claw into a chokeslam. We jocked that with the mandible claw vaariant he should pull a jockstrap out of his gear ,AKA MR JOCKO,and put htat on his hand before applying the claw.
  9. Nah it's the deep south. I have had a few times in a Waffle House late at night people looking at me cause I am reading a book. Feels like living a Bill Hicks bit.
  10. Been lucky that was my first PPV live, then hit up BB93 the next year in Biloxi. And from 98 until 2007 hit up any WCW or WWF/WWE ppv that came to Houston. WM 17 was there. Dont remember there being really any true bad PPVS in that area I hit up. Now where I am no PPVs are close. Besides NOLA and not going to WM again.
  11. Got a few, grew up on the Gulf coast part of MS. First show I rememberr going to was first time Mid South came to Biloxi. All I clearly remember from the show was Duggan coming out and hte crowd went nuts. Skip ahead a bit and I just finished high school,I'm over in Mobile AL at Peaches record store and see a poster that Beach Blast 92 is in Mobile in a week. So as an early 18th birthday present went to Beach Blast 92 with my dad. We sat next to the entrance ramp about 5 rows baack. Show up often during the Sting/Cactus match. Since then only ones that have stood out was when my oldest kid was into wrestling. Had him every summer and usually June WWE would come to Beaumont for a house show then Houston for a PPV the next night. It was 2007........ Nothing but indie shows and one Impact tv taping for me since then.
  12. Hammerstone has been telling indie promoters that he has 3 months left on his MLW contract "And they aint booked me in months" Oddly his booking fee has dropped.
  13. Errementari The Black Smith and the Devil on Netflix is worth watching. Now watch it was talked about on here in 2017 when it came out.
  14. Worth watching off Starz. I might buy it if I find it cheap.
  15. Black Friday, with Bruce Campbell and Devon Sawa exists. Fairly recent. But it is a toy store that while preping for Black Friday on Thanksgiving night gets invaded by demons. Michael Jai White is also in it.
  16. No tattoos. Was gonna get the artist that inked my dad and grandfather to do mine. Then he passed. Haven't found an artist I trust since then.
  17. I get told that often. All my lucha hoods let my goatee hang out
  18. Every year some friends throw a Halloween/Birthday party for the husband. Eveery year she wants to do a couples costume. Eveery year she waits till 2 days before the party to then decide to just wear her Jubiliee outfit. Which means for years now I am https://i.imgur.com/cEffdto.jpg Ultimo Gallos #heelmark lucha libre Central American Heavyweight champion. Won the belt on Feb 29th 2020 in an apartment match. Title linage is Starts as HOODMARK Lucha Libre World title. Won May 4th 2019 by Matt Cross. HOODMARK folds. All their stuff gets sold off to wholesalers. Jan 2020 Alex Graves, retired MS indie wrestler now,at his shoot job at the Journey's Outlet store finds the title in a box of Chuck taylors. He says he is the champ now. I win on Feb 29th as mentioned 2020. Title gets renamed #HEELMARK Lucha Libre Central American Title when in late 2021 Hoodmark came back.
  19. Paternal grandparents took me to my first show when I was under a year old. Far back as I can remember I have been watching. Sure I have taken breaks, mostly 90 thru about 97 and 2007 thru 2009. Think what got me hooked was even with just a rooftop antenna and rabbit ears I was getting pretty much every syndicated wrestling show between 4 channels. So Saturdays was WCCW,JCP,Mid South/UWF,Memphis,GLOW,Florida and all 3 WWF shows. Pretty much now for modern stuff I watch Impact and ROH most weeks. Then hit up at least 2 to 5 indie show every month. Lucky enough to live in an area with a thriving indie scene.
  20. So has it leaked that Hammerstone is gone from MLW? Just rumor I kept hearing this past weekend when Hammerstone and Richard Holiday worked a show in my state.
  21. https://youtu.be/oJyp6KswC24?si=NEpmP0yAsKcxc2Z2 AWA Pro Alexander Hammerstone vs Vladimir Koloff(no not that Vladimir Koloff this one was trained by Alabama Doink)

  23. https://youtu.be/WFHryBbZm1k Lost Art of Wrestling July 28th 2023 Magee MS This is the first of 2 three way matches. The winners of them will face each other to determine the first LAW Zero Gravity champion Eric Black vs The Charles West vs Gio Savage I know Gio has appeared on Memphis TV and the north MS based fed EPW's tv. Eric Black is a long time heel in MS/AL. Charles West mostly works the Gulf Coast area, but years ago worked up near me often.
