  1. Not so much defying physics as it is he got his feet too close to the rope. He still woulda been ok if he hadn't managed to hook his feet under the bottom rope. When he starts to flip, his feet come up, hit the rope from below, and dump him on his head, And, yeah, it's great how he pops up and acts if nothing unplanned just happened.
  2. Is that Loki with hair extentions? No, Michael Facade. Indy wrestler that works around the northeast. Used to see him in IWC out of Pittsburgh. Don' think he's really made it to the larger indy feds. Anyway, not Loki (Lodi?). Different guy.
  3. Hansen as a babyface in Georgia still weirds me out. Something's not right with the world if Hansen is teaming with white meat babyfaces, not lariating them out of their boots. Of course, Georgia had some weird babyfaces. Kevin Sullivan got beat up quite a bit by the Freebirds when the birds first showed up.
  4. Not sure what I'm looking at. Is that.... Shinskue Nakamura wearing a Shinsuke Nakamura mask? Wacky.
  5. This week's ep was hugely entertaining. So far, I'm enjoying this shortened season more than the 24 episode seasons. Do wonder where the Ben Bratt terrorism stuff is going, I feel like it has to tie back into the main plot somehow to justify the time spent on it. A heel turn by Yvonne Strahovski's character wouldn't surprise me.
  6. Sting finally confronts the real Black Scorpion!
  7. I wouldn't mind seeing Santino off my tv, but he seems pretty over for an undercard jtts. I imagine he probably sells enough merch not to have to worry too much.
  8. I want the blow-off to the angle to be a singles match between Mutoh and Akiyama. Akiyama wears the blue trunks. Match is declared a no contest after Kobashi runs out in orange trunks, turns heel, and chops the stuffing out of both men.
  9. I'd say it's a moot question so far as managing goes. There's not a lot of need for managers these days, and Bryan isn't a dynamic talker. I don't really see him as a great commentator either, but.... less likely guys have done a credible job (Albert, for example).
  10. Um, why? Is he still retaining ownership of the company (i.e., any profit the company made would be his in some form or other. What am I saying? AJ and profit probably don't belong in the same sentence these days)? Or does the AJ name have that little value to it? Or is it more a clase that Shiraishi can't make any money from it if the talent left? Me confused. Why can't AJ be like the other respectable Japanese wrestling promotions and split into two smaller, sleazier companies when it fails to turn a profit?
  11. Rumor is that they amputated a leg, though his rep is saying that is completely false.
  12. "IT WAS ME, STIN..... ER, OLLIE. IT WAS ME ALL ALONG!"
  13. I can imagine Meng on a message board. I just can't imagine him spending time to sign in to his account. I assume he just puts the Tongan Death Grip on the keyboard until it taps out and accesses his account.
  14. Definitely process server. He talked about it in his book.
  15. Supposedly, he was unhappy Burton wasn't directing Batman Forever and thought the script was too silly (*cough* hardtoarguewiththatone *cough cough*)
  16. What are the odds that, instead of merging, NOAH, AJ, and W-1 fail and form 8 splinter promotions from the rubble.
  17. Looking at your sig, I just realized it will be a sad day for us all when Vince gets too old to goofily powerwalk to the ring.
  18. Really enjoying Crossbones so far. Not fair to compare a show that's aired two eps vs. a show that's aired two seasons, but so far, I'm digging this much more than Hannibal.
  19. Did anyone's career suffer as much from a babyface turn as Nikita? He never really got over as a babyface or heel anywhere after that, I blame the hair.
  20. I don't really get the hand-wringing. A lot of the character deaths referenced in the poll occured in the series finales. It's fairly typical for dramas to kill at least a character or two nowdays as they wrap up the show. A few of the other "deaths" were clearly fakeouts (Buffy deaths 1 & 2; the show had already been renewed, so there was no real reason to think the character was actually dead). And several deaths were necessiatated by circumstances beyond the producers' control (Kristine Sutherland asked to be let out of her contract; Glenn Quinn was fired for personal problems, Charisma Carpenter was fired over personal issues and getting pregnant, Julie Benz wanted to move on to a bigger role and told the producers she wasn't going to be as available, etc.). I don't even count Jenny Calendar in there. She was such a minor character that her death served more purpose than keeping her around probably would have. I don't think Joss kills regular characters any more than any other creator. Besides, a lot of the demises were well done (Joyce and Fred, especially. And Amy Acker got to keep collecting paychecks) and/or moved the plot forward (Darla esp.) Seriously, fans get way more attached to characters than the actors and writers do.
  21. Yeah, I loved the SST in World Class and WCW. Particularly in WCW, for all the reasons mentioned above. Paul E. was just such a great choice for them. They really didn't have a bad run, and, of course, Rikishi had a pretty great run afterwards as a singles guy, but I feel like they could have been a lot more. The WWF run seemed to kill off a lot of their aura,
  22. What exactly is Whedoning? All or most of the characters in the poll died at some point during their shows. is that all it is? 'Cause I'm fairly sure Joss doesn't have the market cornered on killing off characters. EditL I actually don't remember a few of those characters dying. Maybe that's not Whedoning. Is Whedoning when Joss finds roles for people in future prospects who otherwise would never work again? I think of that as "Mr. Hannigan'ing"
