  1. I think the WWE ruined your joke when it managed to bluff it's way into a massive rights increase and a network time slot for it's b show despite a steadily shrinking audience.
  2. The hat totally saves that outfit. He'd look ridiculous if it weren't for the hat.
  3. Compared to the angles Fox News runs? Unlikely. Maybe Vince can invite Sean Hannity to the Performance Center to teach the kids how to heel it up.
  4. a couple more airings of the Purge tv series commercials, and USA is going to finally exhaust whatever goodwill they have left with me from a decade+ ago when they still produced entertaining original series. I can't remember the last time i was this put off by a series.
  5. Or let someone who isn't a twelve-year-old pick his scripts. Rock is one of the biggest, most marketable movie stars in the world. If Rampage, Skyscraper, and San Andreas are the best scripts landing on his desk.....
  6. What am I missing here? I'm not seeing anything in the MIke Johnson article that makes me think Punk had a contract with Colt or any legally binding obligation to pay his bills. Colt's claim that he wouldn't have any debts associated with the case if he hadn't listened to Punk is dubious, and, even if it weren't, there's probably nothing actionable there unless Punk intentionally misled him somehow. My read on this is that the couple broke up and now one of them wants back all the money he spent on gifts when they were dating. It does kinda make Punk look like a jerk, but since we don't what caused the falling out, or what Colt's responsibility is in the matter - if anything - it's difficult to say.
  7. The funny part is Vince could leave Cody, Omega, Pentagon, Fenix, and basically every other indy name out there alone, and it wouldn't change a thing because no indy promotion going will be able to challenge the WWE's stranglehold on the business for at least a decade or four. Vince has managed to build his promotion into a global success with so many diverse revenue streams that he could quit putting on wrasslin' shows tomorrow and remain very profitable. At the same time, Vince has managed to lower the profile of wrestling to that of a low-rent niche product, created a monopoly with so many barriers to competition that it will probably be a couple decades before anyone gets large enough to challenge his dominance in North America, and seemingly gotten lazy about the core product since there's no fear the company will stop make money or lose viewers to a competitor with a better in-ring product. In a sense, he's making money ruining the business. I have no idea if I'm supposed to applaud his success or boo him for it. I am mildly curious to see what they would do with Penta - ie, what stupid way they find to ruin his gimmick. I assume happy-go-lucky Penta.... uh, I mean .. Trapezoid.... who dresses In bright colors and just wants to entertain the WWE Universe is about to come to a NXT house show near you.
  8. Currently addicted to PS2 puzzler Bombastic. I kind of prefer the title of the PS1 version/prequel, Devil Dice, but this is a fantastic, addictive game. I'm kinda surprised to realize that my favorite thing on the PS1/PSX might be it's puzzle library. PS2 has a lot of good puzzlers too, but the puzzle section on the PSX seems a lot deeper to me.
  9. So the show is basically any ten minutes spent on Twitter?
  10. I kinda want to like the gimmick, but, yeah, Corbin looks out of place in street clothes. He leaves the shirt collar open and rolls up his sleeves, which exposes his bad tats and kinda undercuts the purpose of putting him in street clothes. Same with the shaved head. I keep noticing the tat behind the ear. None of this means the gimmick can't work. My real problem with the gimmick is that, at the end of the day, he's still Baron Corbin and I'm not overly invested in his in-ring stuff or mic work. I am a bit sad that Corbin lost his land and title and has to work for a living like a commoner.
  11. WWE Creative really knows how to beat a good thing into the ground. I've got no interest in seeing Braun Stroman or Alexa Bliss right now, to the point that I turned off the show when Alexa came out for her promo. She does decent character work, but I don't have any desire to see her wrestle and she's really stale, imo. Her character has been spinning in place for awhile now, to the point where I feel like I've already heard her promos. I'm guessing the SS match won't be good. Rhonda's probably too green to lead her to a good match and Alexa's not really the person to be leading someone through the match. They obviously have no idea what to do babyface Braun. There's a reason the gigantic monster wrestlers usually end up as heels.
  12. Hopefully, he's just campaigning for a role in WWE Films' remake of Human Centipede.
  13. Some many Dick jokes spring to mind.... Also a couple Robin jokes.
  14. Skycrapper was right there. Just sayin'
  15. This is the first time I've ever looked through the WWE shop. I'm kinda appalled this is how people spend their money. Making your kid lug a Bayley "I'm a Hugger" backpack to school should be a matter for family services.
  16. Why would you play dodgeball without a trampoline? Crazy.....
  17. Agreeing with Meltzer's troll twitter account about anything makes me feel dirty. If Dave tweets out that water is wet and snow is cold, I'm going to need to take a shower.
  18. I'm hoping the Smackdown women's match ends with Becky winning the belt from Carmella and Charlotte turning heel. Personally, Charlotte was one of my favorite characters when she was a heel on RAW but I've been basically apathetic since she went to SD and turned babyface. My prediction would be Becky is the one that turns heel. I'm kinda fearing that Carmella dropping falls to both Charlotte and Becky in recent weeks means she's retaining - though Meltzer thinks they'll want to get the belts on someone who's ringwork is stronger heading into Evolution. I still don't understand how the SDL title picture doesn't include Asuka. She doesn't even have a match at SummerSlam, does she?
  19. Has anyone ordered from Play-Asia in recent years? I bought off them a couple times in the mid-00's (around the time Fire Pro Returns came out), but haven't thought of them in years. Noticed last night that they claim to have a few old retro games in stock that I'd be interested in. Wondering how reliable they are. I'd probably prefer to give them some cash over some random Japanese eBay account. What other websites should I check out for importing games to the West?
  20. Lol, I have zero confidence they'd know what to do with those two on the main roster (esp. Penta).
  21. Supposedly, that's why she was paired with Almas in the first place. She's so tiny that she makes him look bigger by comparison.
  22. Spear? Gun? I'd be disappointed if Brock did anything besides grab the animal and kill it with his bare hands. If 14 german suplexes in a row is good enough for Dean Ambrose, it damn well should be good enough for Bambi.
  23. I sort of assumed that Vince finally looked at Wikipedia and realized how old James is. Edit: That reminds me of the time Meltzer got sidetracked during a SDL recap and went on a goofy tangent about how rare it was for a woman in her mid-30's (Mickie) to have *gasp* abs. That sound you heard in the background was Dave's knuckles dragging on the floor.
