  1. Shawn Michaels as the 3rd or 4th member of the nWo would have been amazing (either an amazing coup for WCW, or an amazing train wreck. Not sure which.) So many fascinating possibilities: -- Does the nWo angle become even hotter or does it burn itself out quicker? (I'd guess it does even better business) -- Do you still turn Hogan? (Probably. They were willing to turn him because his babyface act was getting tepid crowd responses by that point) -- Who wins the backstage power struggle? Can the Kliq and Hogan co-exist backstage? -- If they can't, is Hogan expendable? Does he try to go back to Vince? -- What becomes of Shawn if he doesn't suffer the injury in '98 and retire? He's said the injury led him to getting clean and being born again. Does he give up the drugs in WCW? (Probably not) -- For that matter, does he wrestle at a high level in WCW? Or does WCW sign another Davey Boy Smith (drugged out shell of himself) -- What about Sting? Do you still go the Crow Sting route? (probably. That had at least as little with Sting working more dates than his contract called for and WCW wanting to cut down his appearances to save some money) I wish this had happened. After Hogan came in, WCW kinda transitioned away from the workrate promotion they were in the early 90's, but there were would have been a lot of fresh matchups. HBK vs. babyface Flair would probably have been amazing. Surfer Sting vs, mid-90's heel HBK is one of my personal dream matches. And, if you still turn Hogan into Hollywood Hogan, you do heel Hollywood vs. face HBK somewhere down the line.
  2. "If I had a gun and was sitting inside a tank with one shell left and Meng is 300 yards away, he's mine, right? Well the first thing I'm going to do is jump out of the tank and shoot myself because I don't want to wound that son of a bitch and have him pissed off at me." Meng > Everyone If you try to take on Meng, and all you have is a tank, you deserve the maiming you're about to receive.
  3. Have they ever explained why Christian is usually an odd shade of orange these days? Addicted to tanning? Eats too many sweet potatoes? Stands too close to the microwave? Bitten by a radioactive Edge and it gave him superpowers?
  4. Why isn't he (the cat) already in developmental? Cats = naturally douchy babyfaces WWE = thinks people want douchy babyfaces. God, it's a perfect match.
  5. By all accounts (not rumblings), USA wanted 3 hours. I don't think WWE would be upset at going back to 2. Supposedly, Vince gave in and took the show to three hours because ratings were down. Per Meltzer, his thinking is to pump up the tv contract money by delivering more hours of content, since they no longer get the ratings they used to (and thus can't demand as much in negotiations). It's somewhat a case of quantity over quality.
  6. Meltzer has mentioned on a few occasions that Shane was all for it, yeah. Gotta wonder how that conversation went.
  7. This. And it's been the sort of slow, sustained build you don't see much anymore in the tpb era. Really curious to see who the Goblin King is. I have no idea. I don't believe it is Norman. Given the lack of clues, It almost seems like Slott will just have to pull a name out of the hat at random, but that would be anticlimatic. I'm guessing the reveal will be someone who figures into Slott's run somehow, or makes sense given his connection to Spiderman continuity. Continuing the "Superior" theme, I'm thinking it's a replacement for Norman. Not Harry. A surrogate Green Goblin for a surrogate Spider Man I'm kinda wondering if Slott would bring back The people who think it's really are out there. No idea how Slott would get from that to hero Spidey in time for the movie.
  8. That doesn't even deserve to be called a "Superman" punch. Aquaman punch, at best.
  9. Being Bischoff's buddy probably didn't help him much, either. Also, he was 45 at the time of the Invasion angle. Strike 3.

    Archer Thread.

I understand why they took a break rather than go up against the Olympic ratings juggernaut, but i still have trouble believing there is that much overlap between the Olympic viewing audience and the Archer audience. Also, they now count DVR and On Demand viewers in Nielsen ratings, irrc. so it's not like they'd be forcing most of the audience to choose. Sterling Archer starring in Smoky and the Bandit 2K14 should be great fun.
