What will be interesting to see is IF (and it’s a big if going off the reactions he’s getting now) is how Cody reacts if during his title run the fans turn on him the same way the AEW fans did after time? He won’t be able to pull the crap he did in AEW (“I will not turn heel” etc.) I don’t see it happening however, at most he’ll get the Cena split reactions

Two days later and the finish still irks me. I 100% agree that Cody is the guy to go with but just give people that moment of Sami winning, give him a 3 week run (like Edge in 2006 when he cashed in) and still let Cody have his story end at Mania and it doesn’t hurt either one bit. Just give the fans something different just to reiterate that “anything can happen in the WWE” or whatever and still let your handpicked champion finish out Mania.

I thought that KO/Zayn taking the tag titles at WM would be a perfect ending for Sami’s story….until last night. After last night i now think it doesn’t make that much sense and definitely feels like a consolation prize. I also realise that Sami winning the world titles isn’t going to do the business Cody would as champion (unless you run every show for the next year in Canada) but I just don’t think Cody winning the title in tribute to Dusty is the right end to Romans story. Cody (in kayfabe terms) doesn’t deserve it. EDIT; as far as the match itself went- those fuckers had me, I was convinced Sami was winning. Roman gave Sami everything and make him look like a star. The actual ending was a tad overbooked and drawn out but those near falls were something else. KO got to be Steve Austin in front of his people and it was awesome. Did Roman just get up and walk out after the last Helluva kick? I definitely think Roman would have wanted to drop the belts to Sami.

Cody is the biggest carny I have ever seen but…..…I believe that Sami has a chance on Saturday because of him. God damn you Cody.

It’s flogging a dead horse but that episode of SD again showed winning the tag titles shouldn’t be the end of story for Sami it should be beating Roman at Mania.

If that’s the route they are going and it certainly looks that way, does that tag main event night 1?

I wasn’t sold on it initially but the last 5-7 minutes or so of the first episode hooked me in.

The main problem for me (in a kinda kayfabeish way) with Cody being the one to dethrone Roman is that he doesn’t deserve it, he was away for x number of years, came back had about 5 matches and was gone again and now he’s the one to end Romans 2.5 year run? No. Sami is the one that makes most sense right at this moment. Business wise- absolutely Cody is the right choice now (merch sales, crowd reaction etc.) and there’s only so much more juice left in the Bloodline story but I just don’t think Cody is the long term top guy.

I saw it on TikTok but there’s a great video of the announce team reacting silently to the ‘Fuck You Roman’ chants and it’s just another example of how over that whole angle really is.

Came here to post this, this is the way I see it happening. Some sort of street fight in Montreal and then the title matches at WM. Replace Jay with Cody for the 6 man maybe? I have no interest in Cody main eventing WM and listening to “MY FATHER…” promos for the next few months but I totally see why that direction makes sense based on merch sales etc. I don’t see him keeping the crowd on his side though.

Genuinely shocked. Punk and Joe complication dvds were my eye opener to ROH but The Briscoes Vs Gen Next (don’t remember the event name) was one of the reasons that made me keep coming back. So sad, RIP man.

In light of recent events I would like to retract this comment. The Uncle Howdy stuff (even though I think it’s poor) is ten times better than whatever Vince and his buddies decide to do with Bray and this.

The Uncle Howdy stuff just gets worse every week, dude just stood in front of a white screen doing a load of hand gestures-oooohhh spoooky. Papa H needs to put all this stuff in a wooden crate and send it off to NXT.

Omega/Ospreay is the only match that I’ve seen from WK so far and I don’t think I’ve ever experienced a match like it. Just a vicious performance from Omega and perfect storytelling from both, at the end I was like “thank god it’s over” but in the best way possible. On a side note I used to love coming on to this forum especially during G1s and after WKs but threads are unreadable these days with double post after double post full of self quotes.
