  1. Cornette strikes me as the kind of the guy who would see this and think that Vince was making fun of Southern wrestling instead of it just being the boys goofing off.
  2. I wonder what would've happened if Paul Heyman had managed to find someone like Dixie Carter to sell ECW to. You know, someone who didn't mind losing a ton of money.
  3. I'm honestly surprised that the WWF or WCW didn't try stealing RVD anyway. As we would see in 2001, RVD could get over as fuck on the big stage.
  4. I always thought that WWE was going to push Chilly Willy during his brief time there. I thought that they'd bring him up from OVW and do a feud with Hassan since that seemed like a low hanging fruit.
  5. Could you imagine being friends with Vince McMahon? What a fucking adventure that would be.
  6. I'd say that she was the last of the old female workers. She was the face of the WWF women's division that wasn't pushed as a sex symbol and whose looks were shit on by Jerry Lawler.
  7. I look forward to Mike Pence smashing Trump with a steel chair and then the Democrats rushing to Trump's defense to turn him face. For months, we'll get Pence giving speeches about listening to a "higher power" and threatening to overthrow Trump. Trump will partner with the Democrats and Ivanka will mysteriously go missing. She'll be put on a cross on the White House lawn while Stephen Bannon tries to marry her only for Hillary Clinton to run on the lawn, smash everyone with chairs and save Ivanka. Pence will give a speech from the Oval Office where he promises to reveal the Higher Power during a ceremony in the Rose Garden. The day comes, the Higher Power walks out into the Rose Garden...... Vince Russo will make a great White House staffer.
  8. Maybe he'll get a spot in the Performance Center because that NJPW thing might not be happening. I can't see Japan letting him into the country for at least a little while now. Moron
  9. http://www.politico.com/blogs/donald-trump-administration/2016/11/wrestling-exec-linda-mcmahon-a-top-choice-for-trumps-small-business-chief-232039?cmpid=sf Linda McMahon might be put in charge of the Small Business Administration.
  10. And also, can I request a name change to "Average Genome Okerlund?"
  11. That's a different discussion and a real problem honestly. The biggest problem with post-Attitude Era wrestling is that fans say that someone is "wasted" if they aren't being pushed to the moon and receiving World Title shots. A lot of people fail to realize that the curtain jerker and the mid carder are all apart of the tapestry that is a good wrestling show.
  12. Billy Gunn is the epitome of a tag team wrestler. He works a high impact offense in short spurts and can look good doing that. Asking him to carry a match is a bit much though. There's nothing wrong with being a solid tag team guy, there's a reason that Ricky Morton was never a top tier singles guy, some guys are role players.
  13. She resigned before her first Senate run. Vince has been CEO ever since.
  14. I'm getting back into wrestling after taking a break for a couple of months. How the fuck is this company still alive?
  15. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/2016/11/12/former-wwe-diva-joins-lawsuit-alleges-sexual-abuse-brain-injuries/DxKRDb8reXsjH5ACJZExKN/story.html?s_campaign=bostonglobe%3Asocialflow%3Afacebook Ashley Massaro is joining the "sue WWE" train. She's alleging sexual assault and concussions.
  16. https://www.facebook.com/Big-Time-Wrestling-104752689708/?fref=ts This one. They tour nationally, score some big names and you never hear anything about them. Someone with deep pockets has to be behind them.
  17. Does anyone know who the money mark is behind Big Time Wrestling? They seem to bring in a lot of big names for what is basically a minor indy company.
  18. I still find the idea of Rusev and Lana living in Nashville hilarious for some reason. I want an "At Home with Dr. D" sequel where Rusev and Lana come over for dinner.
  19. I always wonder what would've happened to WCW if Turner had someone looking over Bischoff's budgets. I understand that he made profits in the short term but carrying that level of future obligations had to have triggered some kind of "wait a second" with SOMEONE in Turner. But anyway, Bret in 1998 WWF could have actually worked. Bret as a corporate champion trying to take down Stone Cold Steve Austin throughout the spring-summer leading into Vince betraying Bret in favor of Rock at Survivor Series 1998 is easy enough to book and doesn't deviate too far from what actually happened. Bret is the prototype of the kind of champion that the Mr. McMahon character would have wanted. I could also see Bret stepping aside for Foley to win the championship in January 1999 and just floating around in the mid card - upper mid card for much of 1999. Of course, you have to figure out how to get the Mr. McMahon character launched without Montreal ever happening.
  20. Of course, he was in a terrible situation. The biggest problem for Bret was the insistence on continuing the nWo angle beyond Starrcade 1997. If Sting had won the title and then feuded with the "Real World Champion" Bret Hart for a couple of months while Hogan & Savage feuded with Hall & Nash while the nWo imploded, it would've been a great use of Bret and a totally plausible scenario. Bret should've known better than anyone that Hogan's ego wouldn't let him step aside and let another heel have the limelight. Their last interaction in 1993 should've showed Bret that as long as Hogan is there, no one has a shot at moving above him. The saddest part is, if Bret had agreed to work for less in the WWF for literally 12-18 months, he could've gotten a pretty big deal. He had no way of knowing that the WWF was about to turn a corner and WCW was about to fall off a cliff.
  21. If Bret had done an assessment of the situation with WCW BEFORE signing then he would've seen that there was honestly no place for him in the upper card in WCW. Either way, he won the World Title within 2 years of signing and would've likely had a strong 2000 if he hadn't gotten kicked in the head. It's an unfortunate situation.
  22. Losing her WWE and Total Divas money is going to be a major financial hit for Paige. I can't see her making as much money on the indies as she does in WWE.
  23. Dana should probably not book Punk again. That was an embarrassment, not just for Punk, but for pro wrestling as a whole.
