Like Rock's? Probably not. A solid career based on both supporting and starring roles? Already there.

Yeah, he'll do better than Hogan but not as well as Rock. Cena is a naturally charismatic dude who has great camera presence. He won't be an A-list guy but he can have a solid career.

And Cena being off of Total Bellas while filming movies is nowhere near as weird as Bryan not being there because WWE doesn't want him on camera. At least with Cena, he isn't there because he actually isn't physically present when they're filming.

This is a fair point, but didn't they yank Tyson Kidd from Total Divas without altering the show at all...when everyone was so vocal about his injury?

Daniel Bryan is a big enough star that you can't yank him without fundamentally altering the show. I haven't seen Total Bellas in a while but I can't imagine you can have a show where the husband of one of the stars develops Chuck Cunningham syndrome and disappears.

He caused those misses, getting injured so much. The WWE gets gun-shy giving pushes to guys that get hurt a lot: look at Ken Kennedy when he got hurt after winning MITB. They immediately took the case off him (and wisely so because he wasn't cut out to be a top WWE star), and even Orton got pushed to the back for several years when he was constantly aggravating his bad shoulder. And obviously Daniel Bryan is "Exhibit A" for being gun-shy.

You could make the argument that he should've had one reign during the Nexus angle. I would've had him go over Orton at Survivor Series after Cena helps him win (since the stipulation was that a Barrett win frees Cena from Nexus but an Orton wins means that Cena is fired).

Also, I would've had Nexus last until WrestleMania with Barrett riding in as WWE Champion.

  4. Daniel Bryan has a daughter with his WWE employee wife and is currently a star on an E! show with said wife. If Bryan leaves WWE, that screws up Brie's gig on E! (since WWE wouldn't want him on the show anymore and you can't do a reality show about the Bellas without Bryan at least showing up sometimes).

There are many business reasons why Bryan likely won't leave WWE.

Hey, he brought it on himself.

Also, it should be noted that the last original Nexus member left standing is...  Heath Slater.

Jesus who would have seen that coming.

I honestly would've thought that Wade Barrett would be a multiple time WWE Champion by now.

    What a missed opportunity.

We may get some serious weather porn in this MIchigan/Michigan State game soon.  Already pouring really hard

I'm in East Lansing right now visiting friends and the local coverage of the game was interrupted for a good 15 minutes with coverage of a tornado warning just north of Ann Arbor.

There is literally a wind advisory in Washtenaw County (where AA is) and a severe thunderstorm warning in the county immediately to the north of AA.

Super random question Kane related question. Does anyone know the date of the Raw where Kane is lead out in chains by multiple police/security officers? From the time period when he tombstoned Linda and zapped Shane's junk. Please and thanks!

I'm pretty sure that this was his standard entrance in July and August of 2003 but I could be wrong.

According to Bix's eulogy at deadspin, Bobby went to wcw for health insurance. Meltzer's quick bio said Vince decided not to renew his contract.

I can't imagine him in attitude era WWF

I can easily see it actually. I can see Heenan playing a Lawler-esque stooge for McMahon and taking digs at Steve Austin every chance he got.

I imagine Heenan having great chemistry with Mr. McMahon.

So we should talk about this survey that WWE just sent out. Looks like they're floating the idea of a Premium Tier of the Network.  Gauging interest in the following:

    • Special Live Events: Special one-time live events from unique locations around the world featuring an unexpected main event
    • Ring of Honor: Historic and new programming from Ring of Honor
    • TV-14 In-Ring Show: A “new” weekly version of ECW (Extreme Championship Wrestling) or other “edgy” new promotion rated TV-14
    • Original Scripted Comedies: Comedies such as WWE Superstar Roasts, Southpaw Regional Wrestling, or WWE’s version of “The Office”
    • House Shows: For the first time ever, get a live, ringside view of select WWE house shows
    • Original Scripted Dramas: Wrestling-themed series inspired by wrestling’s colorful and rich history such as WWE’s version of Game of Thrones
    • New Reality Shows: Reality shows featuring life on the road for WWE Superstars, an insider’s view of WWE Superstars’ intense training and workout regimens, WWE Superstar “Cribs”, WWE-style “Apprentice” to win a job at WWE, or WWE Legends’ House Season 2 – Attitude Era
    • TNA: Historic and new programming from TNA / Impact / Global Force Wrestling
    • Audio Channel: A section of WWE Network for “listening only” that provides audio play-by-play of pay-per-views, music playlists, “sports radio” style call-in shows and podcasts
    • WWE “Director’s Cut”: Shows that put a new twist on classic content such as WWE Legends narrating historic pay-per-views or current WWE Superstars providing their perspective and analysis of classic matches and events
    • Other Promotions: Historic and new programming from ICW, PROGRESS, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, or other regional Indie promotions
    • Tournaments: New in-ring tournaments such as a Pro Am style tournament (WWE vs. NXT), a Lucha tournament, a tag team tournament, or King / Queen of the Ring tournaments
    • Local Tournaments: Tournaments that take place in your home country featuring local talent similar to the WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament which took place in England this year

New Reality Shows is the only one I gave an extremely negative mark to.  ROH/ECW/TNA though REALLY got my attention.  Same with a WWE vs NXT tournament.

This makes me wonder if WWE and TNA or ROH have at least talked about putting their stuff on the Network. Seems weird that WWE would just float the idea without some reasonable certainty that it could happen.

And with AJ being a current WWE guy, TNA/ROH on the Network would be great for him. The same goes for Joe and Roode for that matter.

    Or more likely lose them.

Hell, it isn't even an "event" that Dusty created. It's a name he ripped off from what started as a  TBS gameshow.

And all he really did was apply the name to Crockett's yearly Thanksgiving card in Greensboro.

Starrcade was a combination of various things that were thought up by other people and put together by Dusty. Considering Dusty actually left Crockett and never asserted any trademark on Starrcade, I'm 99% sure that he wouldn't give a fuck.

Yeah, I was more referring to its kayfabe history. A lot of great moments have happened in the NWA territories. The organization has always been filled with shitty carnies but they, at one time at least, put on some of the most entertaining professional wrestling ever seen. I also prefer old school southern wrestling over all other forms so I admit my bias there.

Also, Jerry Lawler as NWA World Champion is 30 years too late but it'd be a decent mark out moment.

    Quote from that article:

Eh, that's pretty much how Ric ruined his reputation too.

Also, Ric hiring new managers who are (apparently) going to market him to the "rap and hip hop culture crowd" reminds me of this:

I'm expecting it to turn out just as well.

I have family in Charlotte and I've heard a fair amount of Ric Flair stories. It seems like anyone who have lived there for a long time has at least one. I appreciate an NC paper keeping kayfabe with Naitch on that one.

Also, Ric Flair and Hip Hop
