  1. Back when Goldberg was being defensive and snippy on Colt Cabana's podcast I just chalked it up to the nerd/jock dichotomy between the two leading to Goldberg not liking Colt very much. But after listening to him on Austin and hearing Goldberg get defensive and snippy towards Austin, who was complimenting him, it makes me think that Goldberg is just an asshole.
  2. I'm thinking it ends up with Darren Young coming back, winning his first two matches thanks to Coach Backlund, then it's 50/50 booking and trading wins with Bo Dallas before getting taken off of TV for another 6 months.
  3. You could tell she was struggling with it. He was her brother-in-law for over a decade, and to hear the stories they were pretty close. She absolutely came off as someone who hadn't forgiven Benoit for what he did, but she's still a human being with complicated emotions about the murderer of her sister and nephew, who also happened to be someone she cared about at one point. Being nine years removed from the event probably helped. She obviously had to deal with a mountain of grief that only a few people ever have to even comprehend in their lives. And she came off as someone level headed who obviously had to put in the work to get to a healthy emotional place in her life. Good for her. Kudos to Jericho too for being sensitive and understanding in his interview. Obviously he was a good friend of Benoit's but he spent a good portion of the interview advocating for Nancy. It was a really provocative podcast, definitely recommend a listen.
  4. I can't think of a better way to show they're serious about their wellness policy after suspending Roman than bringing back Kurt Angle.
  5. Ambrose Asylum Championship Edition was a step in the right direction, but I feel like it won't hit its stride until Super Ambrose Asylum II Turbo.
  6. Worst is still The Overdrive. There was a period of time where every WWE guy from around 2003-2007 was given that as a finish until they could come up with something better. I'm also not a fan of spears done by anyone not named Goldberg or Rhino. I've always loved The Diamond Cutter and Stunner, both are quick, come out of nowhere and look like death if sold properly. Shout outs to the Steiner Screwdriver too, which is one of those instant death moves Speaking of instant death moves, people lose their shit over the Burning Hammer. So there's that.
  7. The Perfect Plex is still one of my all time favorite wrestling maneuvers.
  8. The only thing that can defeat Broken™ Matt Hardy is a table sandwich. Or you know, maybe like a regular sandwich.
  9. Sack of Shit apparently came from Carlos Colon. Hall was wrestling Colon in Puerto Rico and did the fall away slam to him and Colon remarked after the match "You threw me like a sack of shit"
  10. I'm gonna second Scott Hall, Vader, and Bret. None of those guys are wrestlers that I love because of strictly their moves (Well, maybe Vader killing guys with powerbombs and dangerous looking punches in the corner has a lot to do with why I like him) but they had good characters and used moves that really fit those characters. Maybe it's just me, but tiny indy dudes who do wild powerbomb or suplex variations on top of all the flippy stuff just feels too "CAW" for my tastes. Like make sure every one of your circle moves from back grapple is either a tiger or dragon suplex because those are totally awesome. But Vader did a moonsault. And that was rad.
  11. Insincere, smarmy heel apologies are the best apologies. I really like heel AJ. No interest in New Day/Wyatts. That's too much of a dissonance in tone to really work well. Either The Wyatts will end up looking like goofs or the New Day does, no one really wins. Dean was great on the mic. I have a feeling I'm gonna like scrappy underdog champ Ambrose. Liked all the stuff about him not sleeping or changing clothes. Loved the idea that he's fought so long for the title that he'll do anything to keep it. But he's still a pugnacious lunatic and won't back down from a fight and going to be his downfall eventually Roman sucked the life out of the crowd in the opening promo. Cole continues to be terrible.
  12. I'm really happy that the WWE is taking such strides in diversity. To wit: Dean is WWE's first Titty Master world champion since Andre's brief run in the 80s.
  13. RIP Always Pounding Ass shirt. You were too good for this world.
  14. Does anyone else think WWE hyping this as The Greatest Money in the Bank of All Time is a) a bit hyperbolic and premature given that the event is still days away. And b) A symbolic middle finger to CM Punk who was in the previous other greatest MitB of all time?
  15. Xavier vs AJ was top notch. Best TV match in a long long time.
  16. When is Craig Ferguson going to challenge Lashley for the title in a celebrity name game on a pole match?
  17. The best part of that Shield segment was the "Bluetista" chants.
  18. Maybe WWE avoids mentioning TNA on account of the lawsuit. Probably better just to avoid them entirely.
  19. Oh jeez, that won't help anyone with all the overexposure. I guess on the bright side the network subscription becomes more valuable.
  20. Senile Teddy coming out and trying to make tag matches before getting dragged off by security was pretty good as a one off thing. Don't know why they had to do it twice in one night. Heaven help us if this becomes a recurring bit.
  21. What about his diverticulitis? Did Brock beating Taker give him supernatural gut regeneration powers?
  22. Sid absolutely belongs in the HOF. How many wrestlers are WCW (pre buyout) and WWF world champs? Only a handful. Goldberg belongs in the HOF just by virtue of how much he did for WCW during the Monday Night Wars. Also when he speared that guy it looked real good and 12 year old me lost his shit every time.
  23. With Goldberg as the WWE 2K17 preorder DLC, what do you think the odds are of Goldberg coming back for a quick run or even a 2017 HOF induction?
  24. It's not so bad it's good. This is something that's so earnest that it's charming despite (or because of?) all of its faults. This is like the pro wrestling version of a Mother's Day macaroni portrait. I just want to tussle the Hardy Boys' hair and go "aw shucks"
