  1. My hypothesis is that Dave is a lot like one of my close friends where his bit was to always be extremely literal as a goof. That was back in high school. We’re both 43 now. He’s done it for so long that now that’s just how he is. It’s like a bad habit he can’t break and we just go along with it.

  2. The Switch Pro controller is…alright. At the very least it’s their best normal controller ever simply because it just copies the other two companies. Even still, the d pad stinks and the buttons are too squishy, but I’ll take that any day over using Joycons.

My daughter likes the Joycons if they’re in the little handle for them, but even she is using the Pro controller more and more.

Were you laughing because Seinfeld went off the air 27 years ago and thus couldn't have run a storyline fifteen years ago, as Meltzer apparently said?

Meltz is a total space cadet and I remain surprised that people pay to listen to him talk about wrestling because they value his wrestling opinions. Now, valuing him for being unintentionally funny and generally entertaining, I totally get.

Meltzer first said it happened on Seinfeld 100 years ago, but because he is nearly Drax levels of not understanding or using sarcasm, he had to immediately correct himself by saying, “well, not 100 years ago, probably more like 10 or 15.”

It’s too bad for Bryan that they’re on video now and can’t mute himself before banging his head against his desk.

    Oh Dave.

  4. Well, to be fair, Sega got out of the hardware business so it was publish their games elsewhere or die. And a lot of us near the end of the Dreamcast were saying the same when 3rd party support for the Dreamcast sucked.

Hell, it wasn’t that long ago that it looked like Nintendo could have headed down the same path until the Switch changed everything.

  5. I still don't get why it's such a mountain of a problem to do Cody vs Roman on one night and Roman vs Rock on another night. It's two fucking nights of WM. So who the fuck is blocking this simplest of ideas and solutions? Rock? Roman? There's no reason to do a triple threat unless, of course, it's the only thing Roman and Rock would agree to. Roman doesn't strike me as someone with that big of an ego to not work both nights of WM and take an even bigger payday. Hell, I don't even see why the Rock would give a shit, unless of course the Rock is trying to weasel his way into winning the title. Or creative is really that braindead. This shit isn't hard to figure out.

This is pretty close to being as big a shitshow as Curt Schilling’s foray into video games. Curt still takes the cake as biggest scumbag for essentially stealing a bunch of money from RI, talking shit about government handouts and welfare, stiffing employees on paychecks and overtime, then shuttering the studio without paying a ton of people their backpay and keeping the money RI gave him.

  7. Aside from the first episode, I hit skip intro for everything. When my wife or daughter have the remote they just let it play and it drives me nuts. Even for shows with really long intros like For All Mankind.

There were rumors of Rock vs. Roman night one and Roman vs. Cody Night two, months ago. So I'd imagine that has to be a potential plan. It doesn't really matter what Cody said, because he made it clear after the Rumble he was going for Roman and here we are, so pivoting back and forth isn't an issue.

Punk said during their little pre Rumble promo battle that Cody was going to have some returning star take his spot at Mania. Of course Punk meant himself, but regardless it's clear that WWE is aware of the optics.

I truly just want to see Cody beat Roman. That's it. I just want to see that moment.

The Punk Card (hehehehe) being in their back pocket is one they can play if they do indeed decide to pivot and they could do it as early as Monday. Cody comes out, does his “so…what do you want to talk about?” thing, gets into how the Rock convinced him to let Rock go after Roman and even though it didn’t sit well with him he didn’t want to deprive the people of that match. Seth comes and says something and then Punk comes out. Tells Cody this isn’t happening again, rehashes his history and says even though he’s cool with the Rock now that Cody needs to finish this story at WM like he intended and the difference here is that over 10 years ago there wasn’t much Punk could do about it but now…WM is two nights. Then seal it with if Cody is more of me than me then you need to take what’s yours and finish your damn story. Hell, you can even delay Cody’s answer to his only other booked SmackDown appearance this month where he says the Rock is right…but CM Punk is right too, so I’m sorry Seth, I need to do this and I need Roman at WM. Crowd explodes and chaotic tv ensues all the way up until WM.

That all plays very, very heavily off of HHH booking these shows as serialized TV with giving you a taste so you come back the next week followed by an even bigger taste followed by the whole slice. It’s the best way to play this all out and keep things interesting until WM or at least recapture the entire feel of the Sami/KO/Jimmy/Bloodline saga again.

Could they want/expect people to hijack the shows and then allow them to "force WWE's hand" like they did back in WM30, as others have noted?

I think if that were the plan then they wouldn’t have had Cody specifically say he’s not going to face Roman at WM.

Rocky has a soft spot for Bruno because he used to watch over him as a kid and bought him his first car or something; it's in the Pacific episode of the Territories show.

CJ really did deserve to move on, because Miro is a proven loser alongside his "women stay in the kitchen" neanderthal opinions. Meanwhile, of course, in real life both of them have been left in catering while Coach Tony is playing with other newer shinier toys. At least move the story over to ROH whydontcha.

Any opinions on these other issues are as relevant and true as that crappy story I typed up in the weekly thread. If it ain't news it don't matter.

CJ had an infection that turned into MRSA where she nearly lost her finger or worse. Miro has been at home with her while she heals up.

  11. I don’t think it’s a work. This feels like WM 30 all over again. The people want DB/Cody? Ok, let’s give them Batista vs Orton/Roman vs Rock. And for the people that think this is a different time and what happened 10 years ago won’t happen again because those fans are gone, well, they’re not gone. They’re still part of the audience. And now you even have Rock trying to promote this shitshow on Twitter and getting ratio’d at one point.

They fucked up. If they wanted to pull this off with no time left on the clock for fans to hijack it, then they should have done this closer to WM.

  12. I sometimes forget it's just constantly dark out so when they were at the school a couple episodes ago, I was a little confused why high school was going on at night. And then I realized I'm dumb.

I'm slightly surprised by the low audience score. I may have really loved that first season, but this season has been creepy as fuck in all the right ways and the mystery stuff has been rock solid. Part of me wonders if it has to do with the female centric cast.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. She's gorgeous, especially since they've let her be after she dropped the Lisa Frank kiddie schtick. She looks ten times better than most of their roster, too.

But, assholes gonna asshole. Me? Gimme that Bayley Booty (sung to the tune of "Gimme that Frannie Booty" from American Dad) 😄

    [/Cibernetico]

It’s my fault. I let SD get me so riled up that I went looking for other people’s takes on this on Reddit and, ugh, Twitter, and then almost immediately regretted it. I then logged out of my Twitter account which I probably haven’t logged into for over a year.

Done stare into the abyss, kids.

WWE is about to pivot away from conventional ratings for Raw. So live gate numbers/receipts is about to become more relevant for gauging fan interest than it has in years.

But once again, until proven otherwise, the fans who are really loud online aren’t as loud in person as they were 10 years ago/etc.

Maybe because the shows have been better?
