  1. Metal Gear Solid 4. It's still the system's gold standard.
  2. Yeah, one thing about New Super Mario Bros. 2 is that you really can't lose. You just keep trying.
  3. With JR there, a Saban heel turn where he turns to the camera and throws up the Longhorns would be the greatest sports heel turn of all time and he'd need to call it.
  4. At 110 hours of Xenoblade Chronicles. Good lord, this game. This awesome, awesome game. Need to finish up Golden Sun: The Lost Age so that I can move on from my DS Lite to my 3DS XL, for which I have New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Monster Hunter Tri Ultimate. Also downloaded Project X Zone, which looks fucking sweet. Also need to get going on grinding my Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition 2012. Want to be ready for Ultra when it comes. Puzzle Quest 2 is my favorite $5 I've spent on iPad.
  5. Nice to see Alabama get over the disappointment of playing in the Sugar Bowl and realize they're playing football. Seemed like AJ McCarron was the only guy who cared.
  6. I did this back-to-back on Netflix. Slap Shot is pretty damn impressive from a vulgarity standpoint and stands up really well, actually. I forgot how sad the end of the movie was. Goon actually had one of the best fucking stories I've ever seen in a sports movie and can be endlessly replayed. Everything once he joins Halifax is solid fucking gold. It's hard to watch the last 20 minutes, but man alive is it an awesome movie.
  7. That game was even more satisfying than last season's win. This was a start-to-finish domination.
  8. Dude hasn't had an IWGP title match in almost 3 years. May of 2011. I understand that he's been the guy holding up the IC belt, but at some point, he would have seen a shot in the last couple of years. They're pushing Naito ahead of him instead of just moving him up. Yes, they're stable mates and what have you, but as a true alternative to Tanahashi, he'd be a great challenger to Okada. Once Naito won the G-1, Nak got pushed down. NJPW wants him to be that #3 guy right now. If they really wanted something interesting, they should have let Nak win the G-1 instead of shoving Naito down everyone's throats.
  9. Naito winning would be horrible. Nobody buys it. I understand NJPW wants a #3 guy but he's not the dude right now.
  10. BIG CASS IS NOW THROWING OUT FIST BUMPS. That is all.
  11. Looks like this picture was taken from the space vacated by Gibson's dead eye.
  12. As I always think when I see the board blow up at something they don't like, I'd love to hear the idea they have for Bryan that is so much better than what happened last night. And remember a couple of things here, too: -The angle ended the show. It fucking ended the show. If it was a mid card act, they would have swapped spots with the Mark Henry/Brock Lesnar angle. -Bryan basically just said that he's done all he could the way he wanted to do it, but never got to where he wanted to get, so he's going to sell his soul to the devil and do it by any means necessary. That's one of the oldest stories in history. And it's a great one. -If he does achieve the goal (and in the process becomes the biggest name in the company, which is where the doubt is coming from) then you either have him disrespecting Bray to the point where Bray sends the hounds after him, or Bryan can tell him he used them to get what he wanted and fight them off. So there's a built in out. -It elevates three guys from a step below the main event to top of the card guys because they're associated with Bryan. None of that is bad. Bryan is fucking storyline teflon at this point. He got KANE over this year, for crying out loud.
  13. Only problem with being a Lions fan in any King of the North scenario is that they can never play up to the flag bearers they supposedly represent. If anything, Jim Schwartz is the worst possible Tywin Lannister. Matt Stafford is actually not a bad Jaime.
  14. Of course, Chael. Because that's how he's seen, which I think is pretty hilarious, actually. One thing to say about an injury like this: It IS a fracture, which if treated properly, can come back just as strong as before the injury. I don't think Silva's quite done yet.
  15. Watching it live, I could hardly see what happened, but when I saw him holding his leg, I knew I was watching exactly zero replays. Weidman truly is the luckiest man alive. You think the ol' race-baiter is sitting there thinking highly of Weidman after two lucky breaks? ...fucking puns.
  16. It was different from the Ohno match, which was an all out slugfest, whereas this told the better story of Regal needing to use his guile to get by. Once again, he does the little things so well that everything pays off at the end. I'm quick to put this ahead of the Ohno match, which was more of a BattlArts type match, whereas this was worked liked a hybrid of that style, a Lucha maestro match and a World of Sport match. This might be Regal's crowning achievement and cements Cesaro as the best wrestler on the planet
  17. Jose Bautista autographed baseball Blue 3DS XL with New Super Mario Bros. 2 Hardcover copy of Live From New York Baseball Statistic Encyclopedia Jeans and some shirts Not really in a mood to want much this year, but it was a fun one, for sure.
  18. Just as a heads up, what's a good resource for what gets released on Netflix Instant Streaming and for how long? I haven't been able to find one on my own.
  19. Jingus loving this basically makes me feel a lot better about it.
  20. This is what happened. Nigel went into great detail during his podcast with Colt Cabana. Nigel has suffered some bouts of major depression due to the concussions, most likely due to CTE.
  21. I'll say it right now: Tactics is only bested by FF9 in my eyes. Absolutely incredible game.
